I dont know if the camera is too heavy to do this and it will just like bend the gorilla pod thing. But you should bend the tri pod thing into a j almost and hold it on the bottom end of the j so you can extend the camera further from your face and get more things in frame. I dont know if that way can support the heavy camera but you could try!:)
