RIP Paul, great bassist and a true Wolvo man and the Sax player is Steve Heart, formally of the Suburban Studs who was ousted because they didn't think a sax player fitted in a punk band, little did they know :) and before ya ask, I was part of the brummie punk scene and knew most of them :)
The drummer later joined a midlands band called The Circles and later became a estate agent. The sax player Steve opened a rehearsal studio in Wolverhampton. The strictest studio in the entire world I kid you not. The girls used to walk in 5 minutes before your session ended with a board saying 5 minutes. No drink no food no fuck all. That's why we don't use it anymore. Chucky who had it before was the best geezer ever.
That’s unfair, we used those rehearsal rooms for years, Steve is one of the nicest guys you could meet. ‘The girls’ were always helpful, we only stopped going because of Wolverhampton’s stupid traffic system and bad parking.
The single and album came out before April 1979 and I would suggest that this programme must be from late 1978 or early 1979 but no way as late as 1980.
I remember paul raven too and I remember the drummer joining the circles as well. I never saw this before and dont remember this Look Here program at all.
Thanks for posting, a gem from the good ol days, always wondered how they looked and sounded live, still have the LP Popular Music and loved the Peel Session.
I knew tone, Paul , Steve , martin and Keith the drummer he joined the mod band the circles and still plays drums today with martin 40 years on with the circles
Through work, I knew the bass player, Paul Raven, while he was living in Toronto in the early '90s. Too bad drugs, booze, and a heart attack took him. Nice guy in my experience.
Thanks. Although, we weren't close friends. Just a working relationship. Sounds like 1980 punk/new wave. New wave covers anything after punk that was made by folks with short hair, tapered pants, and wasn't hard rock. haha Ska is stuff like Prince Buster, Desmond Dekker or the 2nd wave 2-Tone ska like The Specials and early Madness.
Raven could play in a country music band and still look badass!! RIP
RIP Paul Raven. Legendary Killing Joke bassist

I really liked the sarcasm in Toyah's intro! Ahaa! Good stuff.
