lantern control looks hella fun!!! I always love stall/trolly tactics. definitely going to build this deck, I'll just need to brush up on my local meta before piloting.
+Ben Bass The goal of the deck is to not play Magic - it isn't to mill, it isn't to stall - it's to establish a prison to prevent play, at which point the opponent should concede. If they don't concede, they may lose to not being able to draw anymore cards, or they may lose to loop pings from Pyrite, or they may lose to pings from Aether. 99.% of the time they lose because they concede. Lantern players often have the shortest turns in the match up. Any stalling that occurs is on the opponent's side.
+Paul Messplay I'm aware of how the deck plays. you say prison, I say stall, the difference is semantics. it prevents the opponent from really doing anything, and slowly builds to a deadly endgame. as a pokemon player, this to me is the definition of stall. I use this style all the time.
+Ben Bass It isn't semantics. Words have meanings. Stalling implies a main game plan beyond the lock, which is an incorrect way to play the deck. Establishing the lock is what wins the game, not stalling to some alternate, fringe win-con.
Been playing versions of Top Control (Lantern Control) for over 4 years now. Ali plays it very well. Makes me proud. Also, what does, "One Tarmogoyf is worth more than all of that!" attempt to say? The commentator that makes that claim has been begrudgingly hiding that he doesn't seem to like Lantern. Is he just trying to take a dig on the deck?
My assumption, after watching this live, and re-watching it recently, is he was joking about the price of a Goyf being far more than most pieces for this deck, which is pretty much true aha
Lantern Control looks fun to play!

+Ben Bass Lantern isn't a stall tactic.
Paul Messplay how? You use delaying tactics and slow mill to destroy the opponents game plan while slowly advancing yours.
