Those pictures are worth a thousand dollars to me. So sad a box of three beautiful memories are laying on a staircase in an abandoned house. Pictures reflecting happy moments that no one left on the Earth cares about any longer. That is so unexplainably sad to me.

As someone who's always had a fascination with older houses, these videos of yours are heartbreaking: all these amazing nineteenth century houses, some pre-civil war era, many quite substantial and well-built just left to mold away. The area you live in must have been booming in the mid 1800s to have built so many great houses and then just discard them.

Have you ever been tempted to preserve the old photographs? Notice I didn't use the word 'take'? It seems so wasteful to leave them rotting in those old houses. They are records of someone's existence on earth.

Of all the things I see in all of these videos, I've always thought that I'd love to save the pictures of all the people and animals that I would find. I would make a giant collage. No idea of who the people and animals are, but someone would have a continued record of their existence.

I moved around so much when I was a kid, I wish I'd see one of my old homes in a video on youtube. This house reminds me of a house we lived in, in 1990, only we were in Taylorsville, NC. And it was a huge blue house. We left suddenly and only took what fit in the uhaul van because my aunt in FL was burned in a fire and we had to get to her fast. I often wonder what happened to my old toys and things we couldnt take.

Finding items left behind such as old clothes and photos make for a personal touch but incredibly sad too. You imagine photos as permanent snapshots in time and they would have been treasured by their owners. It's life but a poignant part of it.

Looks like the house had what was called forced air heating, I just did a partial renovation on a house built in 1950 with the same heating system, when they work they work really well and heat up a house really quick....The house had worked on was of most likely the same situation like the one you are shown here exploring, an elderly woman had just passed away, and there were parts of the house that had not been used in over 40 years, but with some labor and a dumpster or two, you would be amazed at what can be restored, as long as the sub structure and the frame of the building is sound it can be fixed, I'm sure this particular house you felt should be torn down, actually it just needs to be gutted and cleaned, the owner of the property most likely knows this, hence the reason it still stands, Be safe and keep Exploring, thanks for the great shoot.

Someone asked where this was filmed. I noted on the original subscription "About" description that they were all filmed in Ontario Canada unless otherwise noted. Amazingly haunting. So sad that all these invaluable relics from the past are just rotting away. I agree with others that they should be salvaged and shared with collectors who value this nostalgia. Thanks for sharing this amazing video. I am looking forward to watching your others.

This is a real treat to see what was someones living environment from decades gone by looks like. So nice to see that no copper thieves have ripped the walls apart to steel wiring. I truly enjoyed this video so much that I watched it three times. I wish the house could be saved. The base boards were so cool, in every corner was some kind of ornament made into the base boards. You just wont see that kind of craftsmanship today. Sad to see it deteriorating to nothing. Thanks like always for a in depth exploration.

Crosby was a television brand back in the 1960s, as I recall.
That space heater upstairs was likely just for that room, maybe for a couple of rooms. Likely ran on oil. Could not have been used to heat the downstairs, because heat rises and those kinds of heaters didn't have forced-air fans on the ducts.

Hi, Tiki, great video. It is one of my new favs of your vids. You can really get a sense of the people that once lived there. I think you were right about the couple and the fact that the wife must have passed on first. I personally am glad that they saved all of those old papers. The pictures brought a tear to my eyes. I hated to see them just laying there, peoples lives and memories left to rot on the floor, very sad. I was also reminded of the cat house which was another fav video. Can I ask a question? Have you ever come across anything paranormal in your quest? In my younger days I was quite the explorer myself, one day we found an old farm house that had been empty for 10 years or so. The state bought the land for the wet land birds so the people took everything with them. When we went into the house I got the goose bumps right away and about 10 minutes later we heard and old woman ask, "Who's there?" The house was soon turely empty because we ran so fast I think we broke the sound barrier!! Would love to know if this has ever happened to you. Thanks and keep the videos coming!! And BE Safe!

I asked a gal pal whose husband is a psychiatrist what he thought about paranormal and she said it exists, but that not everyone is sensitive to it. Those who are often experience problems because of it. I also believe in charismatic experiences as well having had many amazing coincidences in my life.

Ok a good way to "date stamp" an old house is look for common items, find the time period of those items and then put them together, then compare them to other items such as books, calanders etc... You can then get a good idea of the date the place was last occupied... For example, the items in the kitchen were about 1970s to 1980s... The furnichure was ruoghly of the same time (exept TVs), the Old Spice, RightGuard, and other items were late 1980s to early 1990s... The latest calander read "1991"... So I would "date stamp" this house as 1991/1992... Anyway, you do a brilliant job with the camera and commentary...

  • @elkidee1

Again a really fascinating find. My mind races with imagining who lived there and why so many items were left. We did, very much. Thank you for sharing this great find. Awesome. My girlfriend started to pronounce the word "out" the canadian way for some reason.... (she's from UK) :)

      @TikiTrex 10 років тому +1

Chip Guy Vids Great! I always wondered what our "out" sounds like to others. I know some have said it sounds like "oot", but the funny thing is, when we hear someone from Scotland say it, that's how it sounds to us, lol.

The old TV was CROSLEY. They made other household appliances like refrigerators too (Crosley Shelvadoor had shelves in the door like most modern refrigerators. I think it also had a V shaped handle for opening the door and would open from either side, depending on which side of the V was pulled). There was also a Crosley car.....not sure if there is a connection.
Thanks for the video. Glad you didn't attempt going in the basement with all the ice.
    Stay safe!

The wooden thing hanging on the wall in the basement entrance is a tool which ladies would use to wrap their clothes line (as a spool) when they would take it in after the wash dried. (I'm old enough to remember the elderly lady next door using one.)

Always a chair, curtains seem to hold up. That house used to be a comfortable home years ago but then the people became frail (as can be noted from medications, etc.). Thank you again, Pam. I go to these venues with you and comment feverishly about your well-being. I saw a couple of Nancy Drew mysteries, so a young grill must've lived there. Always try to read stuff as you film. Old newspapers, books, etc. Stay safe, girrrll.

Haha, yes, always a lone chair. I love trying to gather clues from the items left behind. Seems to be half of the fun! Thanks for exploring with me as always, Carole!

Wow, looks like the place was left relatively untouched by all except for nature since it was abandoned. So many things collectors would go crazy for. Even old pictures of the former owners lying about... Somehow gives me a nostalgic vibe. I can't help but be curious to know how much those vintage TVs would sell for. Excellent find; thanks for sharing :) .

What an amazing find!! Especially haunting are the shots of the curtains at the windows and the old photographs - better than any museum. Your film work is extraordinary - thank you for sharing this one.

That house appears to still be in repairable condition, which is remarkable considering how long it's been abandoned. It's sad to see those old farm houses just decay away, especially considering how much history they have behind them.

Sorry commenting again, Lol. Those chairs are also amazing, those suckers sell for 75.00+ at the antique stores! Do you ever talk to the owners of the land in some of these places and ask if you can have some of this stuff? Also what would be cool is Metal Detecting around these places!

Interesting how this used to be the realm of kids, but now it's so dangerous for kids to be out exploring, that it's mostly done by grown men and women lol...well I'm glad SOMEONE's doing it; thanks for posting these so I can explore a bit too!

***** Not a problem! :) You're genuinely one of my favourite UA-camrs, your genre is so unique. I would love to do urban exploration here in Ireland but I don't think I'd be able to go alone, plus I think it may be trespassing. I'll just let the professionals do it instead :)
