Thanks for the video Nicole! I am so thrilled you left your errors and challenges in and did not edit them out. You are such a skilled and talented person and it is good to know that things don’t always go as smoothly as many videos seem to show. In the end, your bag was beautiful! ….loved your choices of cork, fabric and hardware ❤😊
You did an amazing job with this bag pack! I was like yes!!! She did it in cork and it was everything!!! Love how real you are and that you don’t hide your mistakes or frustrations!! THANK YOU AGAIN, for your time and teachings!! ❤
I haven’t made this one yet but it’s on my list. One thing for sure is I’m going to bind the entire thing, especially after seeing your video. Thank you for an accurate representation of what it takes to make this bag.
The bag is stunning! Even with all the frustration of a late night sew you did an awesome job! I loved the tweak with the cork on the strap, (except for the forgotten swivel clasp).😢 You have a great teaching style which makes the seemingly impossible, possible! Thank you
Looks great. Some bags really push us and our skills. Thanks for sharing your thought processes and solutions. Like Einstein said, “… if one doesn’t make mistakes, we are neither learning or trying hard enough”. Paraphrased. Lol. Enjoyed the vid. Thank you.
Love how real you are. honest to the core! Great looking Bag! I just need to jump and make one. Where did you get the strap anchor…. LOVE that idea. I am enjoying your backpack series.
It is an amazing bag that I bought when it came out and I still didn’t find the courage to try it out. (Truth be told, I do t have much time to sew now anyways) I completely understand what you went through, I had my issues attaching sides of Catalina crossbody by OroRosa and I was stubborn enough and picked the wrong materials for my machine. It ended up okay, but mine also was slipping under the foot. Thank you for sharing this video. It is okay to make mistakes and to struggle. I appreciate all you do and you will always be the Queen of cork for me. You have taught me so much over the years, and thank you for that. I look forward to more videos 🎉❤
Love this of course! I hate fighting with seams and have taken to hand basting. I don’t like it either but it makes some seams so much easier that it justifies the lowered stress lol
It was a quality issue and from what I understand the supplier themselves stopped doing prints. I’ll see if I can’t get some info on how we can get these prints back, I miss them too!
Do you remember which online store you got the rivet D-rings? Your bag turned out amazing. I made this bag once...love the pattern but didn't enjoy making it. I wish it had instructions for binding.
Awesome job, thank you for sharing everything Nico! Have you ever tried the dritz wash away double sided tape? I'm looking at the options on the Wawak site (thanks for the referral) and the heavy duty and medium tapes mention gumming the needle. And then finally, I noticed you are using a non-stick foot - is it the one from Juki? Thank you 😘
I’ve never used wash away tape before! My Teflon foot isn’t from Wawak, I got it years ago and I just googled Teflon foot and my machine type. It was the best $10 I’ve ever spent!
Staples help me put those curves in place and prevents shifting. With out a walking foot there is not much way to avoid the top layer moving forward from the bottom as you sew as the mechanical action of the feed dogs pulling the bottom layer. Super frustrating. I was yelling at the video as you riveted the strap. We have all done it. I live your fabric choices classy looking bag. The oweigie board lining fabric is cool.
An absolute marathon effort Nicole. My shoulders are aching in sympathy for you. You have done a wonderful job.
Thank you!

Someone mentioned the bottom binding being harder when you bind the sides, so that’s something to consider!
👏👏👏👏👏 my heart sunk at the end with the swivel…been there. You did an incredible job with this, love that you keep it real. I would wear that bag ❤❤❤
Thank you so much!!
OMG, Nicole I was screaming at the screen when you forgot the swivel hook...lol Anyway love the video and all the setbacks and your comebacks. 👍
Hahahahaha yeah by that point I was OVER IT! 😂😂😭😭

I am so glad that I am not the only one that has problems with interfacing coming unstuck.
Haha nope. One of the many issues I have in my studio 🤣
Turned out beautiful, glad you persevered !

Hi Nicole. I am a fairly new subscriber and bag maker. Thank you for your videos. You explain things really well and it helps a ton!

You are amazing Nicole... It is beautiful... it is above my paygrade for sure, but I enjoyed watching the sew for sure.
Thank you so much!
I love your tape idea around the curves. This bag was a beast to sew and that would be so helpful
It’s super helpful!
Thank you for all of your tips, tricks and hacks. My almost 70 year old brain doesn't always think as creatively as it used to so I appreciate you!
You are so welcome!

Good option!
It’s gorgeous
Thank you!
Great video! I learned so much. Loving my bag making journey :)
Glad it was helpful!
I mean, what’s it gonna take to get Fabric Funhouse to bring back this print, the cacti and that gorgeous raspberry-ish color?! 😩
It was a quality issue and from what I understand the supplier themselves stopped doing prints. I’ll see if I can’t get some info on how we can get these prints back, I miss them too!
Love that bag!
Where can those cool d ring connectors be found?
My website! I sell them!
Do you remember which online store you got the rivet D-rings? Your bag turned out amazing. I made this bag once...love the pattern but didn't enjoy making it. I wish it had instructions for binding.
I’m importing some so I hope to have them for sale soon!

OMG, when I noticed you were doing the second strap, I kept yelling out, put the swivel hook on, put the swivel hook on
🤣
Where did you find the side rivet anchors? Do you sell them?
I have lots more on the way, you can sign up for email alerts on the listing on my site! I’m only getting antique brass though since that’s all I use.
Also dear Nico...is your patreon group open? Can we join? Where is the join info? 😁
Of course, here you go! www.patreon.com/SewGnar
