Hi, I've just gotten to the particle system and my leaves are all centred on the stem, as in the central stem is attaching to the center of each leaf instead of the stem of the leaf like yours. I've been back through the steps several times and I just cannot get it to replicate what you've done, do you have any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Sounds like the object's origin (Orange dot) is in the centre of the leaf. Select the leaf object and go into edit mode. Select everything with keyboard shortcut A and move the leaf, so the orange dot is on the stem of the leaf. There is also a good tutorial by The CG Essentials here: ua-cam.com/video/LHIvN5ZqdTU/v-deo.html on how the origin works in Blender. Let me know if this helps.
Thanks, you were spot-on, but I'm (unreasonably) proud that I actually figured it out on my own after about an hour of searching, I was just starting at the leaf helplessly when I saw the dot and it hit me! Appreciate the response though and really enjoyed your tutorial, I've subscribed and looking forward to seeing more!
Okay, I've got the cube, now what? Jk I'm starting to learn 3d modelling and this is legitimately helpful for understanding hoe it works from the fundamentals. Thank you!
Hi thanks for this tutorial I have a question to ask you is it possible to mix particle system to add leaves flower and fruit to the plant and not only leaves ?
Hi Meng, this is what happens when creating a particle system. You may have to adjust the rotation, scale and amount of leaves to get it looking okay. But unfortunately it will still bump in each other somewhere. Hope this helps.
Thank you 💚 you've saved a student who does her full-semester-3d-course in one day before the exam yup

@@Interactiv (I do mean it-- the shortcut cheat sheet had saved me plenty of time but damn the learning curve is steep.)
@@rileykurtz1803 Yes the learning curve is really steep.
We are 400!👊
When I change the particle instance object to my leaf nothing happens, any idea why?
Hi thanks for this tutorial
I have a question to ask you

Yes, you can stack particle systems on top of each other by hitting the plus beside the particle slots.
hi! thanks for the awesome video! one question please, why my leaves bump into each other? some of them got crossed.thanks!!
