I think this figure looks great. Probably the best looking SDCC Predator NECA has put out, and definitely one of the better ones as far as accessories and equipment goes. Mine is supposed to come in the mail today, and I am looking forward to it!
I like the hips and leg articulation of this ahab than the ultimate ahab because you can sit on throne or chair the ultimate doesn’t because the furr hindered the hip or leg articulation for sitting down
iam very lucky with all neca figures. here in the netherlands, we have a few online shops that sell most of them for around 18 euros. ahab and darkhorse are like 25 so iam still gonna pick those up. i robbed the stores of their figures as i have a very nice collection right now! neca makes awesome preds so in my opinion we need something out of the blue new.
Ahab is not the first pred with a missing eye, scarface from the videogame predator concrete jungle dosent has one eye to. but in the comics... its true that ahab had slay an engineer from comics??? if is true...thats is fucking badass
armando gabriel He did but the engineer beat the living shit out of him and he needed help from a human.....in my opinion he's actually one of the overrated predators like Scar, Beserker, Wolf etc. I personally think the most badass predator is the neca clan leader his story is just so awesome and he's superior to every yautja on his home planet they fear him and respect him and bow to him you can't get much more badass than that.
Just snagged an Ahab Predator hours ago. However I'm worried about a few reports for the figure such as having loose joints on the hands, the upper right mandible and the head. I'm still looking forward to acquire a Viper and Enforcer Predator nevertheless. The Bad Blood Predator from NECA looks awesome though I don't plan on buying one.
i totally agree wasnt huge fan of ahab but got this guy for 54 free shipping got it in 2 days have to say this guy is worth it up to 70 about in my opinion if u find him under 70 get him u wont be dissapointed
Great review OTBR! I'm keeping my Ahab in package, having opened Albino, and having opened all my other Predators. I think I'll keep one, and only one in package, and it'll be this one. BTW, just saw the Bad Blood Predator and it looks ridiculous. Why not just add a kitchen sink to him? Who would walk around with all that shit hanging from them? I'll try to resist buying it.
I finally got around to opening mine. My figure's head is loose just like yours. Hey, you didn't mention that his chest peace is not glued on. I wasn't able to glue it since the peg is too small to fir on his chest. Plus his waist has the same problem as his head, not staying on. No rubber butt under his loincloth. I like him, but he feels a little half assed. What do you think?
Going off the name, weapon, and scared eye, i have come up with a bit of a "Predator Theory." (not actually knowing any backstory of this one) This Ahab predator could have been a whaler of sorts along side the elder of predator 2. Considering Ahab has a lost tribe spear, and yet, a plasme caster, different from the lost tribe, but similar to the elder himeself. They could have been pirates together during the age of sail. This is just my opinion/theory for this one predator, again not having any knowledge of it. Great reveiw, OTBR, keep it up.
Got mine and the joints at the wrist have all been pulled out to far and the left foot won't stay on at all. When I asked for a refund they only offered me a fucking $5 compensation... needless to say disputing that one.
Not a fan of the head sculpt it just doesnt look right. Shaman Predator is still IMO is best looking figure out on the series with Big red coming in a close second.
