I visited twice this city long time ago. As a big city (10M people), it should one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Beautiful lakes and hills are just around. Countryside and farms are just few miles away. This medium city has the advantages of a big city and a lot of very sparse areas. A perfect mix of modern and traditional.

I don't think it's fair to compare these two openings for one simple reason: China used the games to advertise itself and put a lot of money into it. Europe does not need to make propaganda to promote itself. Furthermore, I think it's more interesting to use these openings to show the host country's culture and values and its own beauty than just beautiful special effects but without any content.
By watching games on television, poor indian citizens will realise what a lot of fake news they get from their news channels about China 🇨🇳 . All can see how devolved ,organised, and clean China is.
