I respect OG saying that. That he'd often fight out of fear. I used to do the same a majority of the time, while I was growing up. I've got sickle cell and avacscular necrosis and I looked like what Slender Man would like if he was a nigga, lbvs. The side of town my family and I stayed in was always lit and I'm not talking about the good and positive use of the word, lit. Mu4d3rs, muggings, vicious assaults on unsuspecting ppl that never saw it coming and even when you could see it coming it was too late to do anything. Shootings at least a few times a year, as a lover of music and me looking up to OGs in entertainment like Sammy Davis Jr., Prince, D'Angelo, etc the taught themselves how to play the list of instruments that intrigued them. I knew how to play the piano fairly well and I now (technically then) wanted to get a pair of maracas. But with a family of 14 , my pops wasn't financial able to get that for me right then. And so for replacement purposes I used an empty can, went outside to get lil rocks and possibly loose change along with shell casings. I was so wrapped up in that til I didn't notice nor hear the lil groups of niggas that used to bully me and try to beat me up. The latter of which was due to me being a 9 y/o, short, light weighted, sick kid, I'd get scared when these niggas in their early to mid-teens would start to surround me. So I'd unintentionally and I guess instinctually throw the first punch and get to hit as many of them as I could in the short time frame of about 4-5sec before I'd get hit by, AT LEAST, one of them niggas that I didn't and couldn't see and get beat up AGAIN. But we a homosapiens have two default command protocols when we feel we're in danger. Which is either run or fight. Up until 9 years ago when I was 19 and a tragic incident snatched my dream away from me, I wanted to be a professional boxer and was an amateur boxer. And some of (actually a lot of) my fights I fought, I was scared of getting KO'd. And you'd be surprised by how much your fear and adrenaline can give you a boost/aid. Fear is a hell of a motivator
