@@RMDTech Consider that burden taken off your shoulders then. One experiment I can suggest: Grab a copy of XP x64 and put it on a mildly outdated PC. I ran it on my main rig, a 2014 PC with an i7 3770k, 16GB of RAM, a GTX 970 (drivers finnagled from the last 960 release for XP x64 to work with it), and an SSD, and it was incredible. You basically get all the performance of a modern system, but with the backwards compatibility of Windows XP!
I last used XP back in 2012. It had been my daily driver since about 2009 by that point, as before I used Win 2000 on an old Gateway machine. It ran wonderfully on the hand-me-down Sony Vaio desktop I'd been gifted by my mom. It was old even back then, but it did everything I needed it for such as school work in office 2003, web browsing via Firefox or Opera, chatting with friends via Skype, and lighter games like Minecraft, The Sims 2, GTA Vice City, etc. I was given a cheap Lenovo prebuilt PC in December of 2012 for Christmas, and that came with Windows 8. I said goodbye to XP as my daily driver after that. I'll always have a lot of love and nostalgia for XP and 2000, even if the machines I ran them on were all rather old hand me downs. Teenage me didn't care! Those machines were still mine, and I cherished them til the days they died. The Vaio finally kicked the bucket in 2015 after the motherboard died, and we didn't bother replacing it. We removed the hard disks and sent the old machine off to be recycled. Anyway, I'm waffling. Great video! Brought a lot of warm memories to the surface. :)
That's brilliant! I'm glad you were using it for so long! You held onto it longer than I did, i upgraded my family pc to Win 7 in 2010. Really glad the video brought back some memories for you, that was my hope! :)
I completely abandoned Windows 10 for HoloISO to future proof my computer from further conflict with Microsoft if my emachine didn't break down I would still be using that our family has an old HP desktop with Windows 8 still on it covered in dust that doesn't even power on. The powersupply might be fried and a couple of components as well but yeah if anything I miss our old Windows 7 emachine computer it used to game on Steam perfectly fine until modern society ruined it if I still had it I would be going back to disk games.
If you have an SP3 copy and use the SP4 community update along with firefox or opera you can still get by on XP, in fact, i am a part of that 0.06%. My first ever computer to this day is still ticking its Sempron heart along and i can play physical copies and some light web based games. As long as you're not looking at dodgy content online and you do not sign into anything and browse anonymously, its totally possible. Some Games for Windows based DVD games do still kind of work and custom servers on some titles are possible. As long as you know the risks and how to avoid them. Long live Windows XP!
i used xp sp3 right up to the end of its support then went straight to win 10 on my main machine skipped the rest didnt like vista or 7 and the mrs had a laptop that ran win 8 that just felt aimed towards touchscreen devices and im not rushing to win 11 either lmao decent vid and nicely timed, the nostalgia was real
Nice vid! It really is a shame that you can't play retro games via steam with XP. I personally think the security issues can mostly be mitigated or are of little concern for the average use (still not recommending people go out and connect to the internet with it)
If Microsoft was more open source like Linux they probably would still let you use older computers the customer should be able to use what they want since they're paying money for it I'm using HoloISO as my main Operating System to future proof my computer if I want to use Steam I turned my modern computer into a Steam Machine and MIGHT consider on buying a used emachine or Dell that runs off Windows 7 or Windows XP or I'm about to relive life in the early 2000s and ditch all of my modern stuff I'm honestly sick of modern society I also tried Windows 7 myself on my modern PC worked perfectly fine just be prepared to not use Steam and go back to gaming disks for PC.
I am still running XP on my home desk top. Running great. Just can’t get into certain websites. I get the clock message. I tried the hacks online. Anyone have a easy solution for this? Thanks
I use chrome 360 and mypal for current windows xp browsers. Much better than outdated chrome and firefox. I have no internet issues using xp for over 4 years now, You just have to know what youre doing online. Watching this video on my xp 64 bit computer from 2012. Its an i7 2600 with an ssd and 16 gigs of ram. I would never log into my bank with it as we have windows 11 installed in the living room lol.
Running Internet perfectly fine on Windows 7 in 2023 make sure you get a security software to protect your computer and use AVG firewall instead of Windows Defender you can use Internet on older versions of Windows according to Microsoft but you will be more vulnerable without proper security. Microsoft never said we COULDN'T still be using older versions of Windows is what people aren't looking at or so what Microsoft claims you can still use it. If you want it for basic use and nostalgia it's perfectly fine There's plenty of reasons why people would want to use older versions of Windows and one reason is certain features are compromised in Windows 10 and Windows 11 another one is if you want it for older games and not newer one then CD based games are good enough to tie you over for a lifetime and future proofing your old desktop I can run Internet on Windows XP perfectly fine just be careful because there will not be any new updates on specific browsers the only one that still seems to be updating on older versions of Windows is Mozilla again if you want to use older versions of Windows PLEASE use a security software such as AVG my second one would be to use Malwarebytes or Iobit which appears to still be supporting older Windows.
Having Rudi on stage really has aged like milk though....
At least back then he didn't start leaking on stage though.
Maaaan, it was so difficult to avoid the temptation to make a joke about that 😂

Windows XP: you cant defeat me
Windows Vista: I know i cant but he can
Windows 7:
i used xp sp3 right up to the end of its support then went straight to win 10 on my main machine skipped the rest didnt like vista or 7 and the mrs had a laptop that ran win 8 that just felt aimed towards touchscreen devices and im not rushing to win 11 either lmao decent vid and nicely timed, the nostalgia was real

Can we get a video like this for Windows Vista or Windows 7? Awesome video! Miss Windows XP. Wish it could come back in some kind of way.

What's your opinion on Windows 7? I personally LOVED it!
