- The Exumas in The Bahamas lived up to everything we hoped it would be! After 3 years of full-time cruising, we have been to many amazing places, but none as beautiful as this small part of The Bahamas.

It's good to see Mads "behind the scenes" personality :) a little sarcasm is a must!
😃Mads is SAILING!!! I followed your channel faithfully about 10 years ago, but I eventually drifted away after about 5 years of boat work with no more sailing... I'm SO glad to see you got Athena and yourself back to sea. Yay!!!
The smash cut to Mads mid-syllable during the singing made me laugh
I can't wait to see a picture of Mads with mouse ears. Then and only then will we know if will we know of Mads is truly happy to get to Florida.
LOL free Geico imbedded ad. Classic. Very clever!
Ava, when she is talking about or just looking at wildlife, seems to come alive. She looks even more beautiful. I think this is your calling. Ava! It's the same effect that new, interesting tech has on Mads!
That was so fun and entertaining to watch. Thank you.
The more I watch the more I love you guys. Ava is my favorite now. I have been watching since the boat refit. Good winds to ya and God bless!
It would be cool to see some video from the mast mounted camera when your in the shallows.
There have been a lot of videos from cruisers in the Bahamas. Congrats on making this one quite enjoyable.
Thanks for another great video
The guys stuck to the rocks are chitons :) very neat creatures that can get quite big!
Yup, chitons
And you can eat them. Raw if you have to.
Looks like your having a great time in a great place.
wow! never disappoints . always entertaining. love how happy ava is ! she is a great person & her husband . always smiling! thanks
Top video as usual and Ava's commentary really makes my day. She has that nerdy offbeat humour that is hard to beat. Hey Mads, any chance you can explain how you use the Airpods to communicate?
The "your mom" jokes are very Gen X, Mads!
Boomer, even...
Mads…..love the humor. Keep everything up. Thank you both for what ya’ll do. From south Louisiana
That piece of wood is Little………but it says a Whole Lot about how y’all two have extraordinary Chemistry towards each other.
Liked.
We love the Bahamas too! Living in central Florida makes it a short hop to be there.
Great video
Sadly, I haven't watched in a while ( cancer... )
Now I'm remembering just how much I love your videos ❤
I'm shocked Mads didn't at least think about 3D printing an Athena sign for the "trash pile"! 😥
I'm surprised he doesn't have a milling machine on board..
@@MrFastFarmer The lathe, milling , and plasma cutting machines come in the next boat when they refurb a 52-footer.
@@WaterFaucet24 🤣
Those flat creatures with segmented bodies attached to the rocks are called Chitons. I have not eaten any, but am told you fry the soft part with butter and herbs like escargot.
I can't believe I was there just a few weeks before you guys. Great job on capturing a small slice of the place. Nothing compares to actually being there. It is one of the most spectacular environments on the planet.
You guys are hilarious!!!! :) :)
Took a shot every time Eva says like 😂😂 plastered! 😂😂
2:00 By the end of this episode I expect to see a crocheted iguana.
Ah that brought back memories. I cruised the Exhumas back in 2012 with my friend for 3 weeks on his 36' Benateau. Miami to Bimini down to Staniel Cay. A wonderful trip for my second time on a sailboat. My profile pic is from that trip swimming on the sunken DC-3 at Normans Cay I think. I would love to go back one day. Thanks for the throw-back and enjoy your time there Mads & Ava.
See you 👍🏼🥰🇩🇰
Stay safe and we'll see you next week.
Love the Exhumas... also, love the Tilley hat Mads!
yum yum eat 'em up. iguanas taste pretty good. Maybe not THESE... but the ones in florida, 100%
Hi Athena, this is your neighbor who spoke to you the other day. epoxy retractable keel boat
Great episode. You made your walk fun to watch.
Amazing pictures! Fantastic video I wish they were longer
Thnx. One of your best videos so far.
But why 245 thumbs down?
Wasn't me!
We were there last year. I hope you get to see Rachel's Bubble Bath at high tide. Buckets of fun.
.....and you're right. Some of those passes are nail-biters, and the shifting shoals and unmarked coral heads are guaranteed to add to the anxiety factor.
Safe travels.
Great footage guys - sensational image quality
Mets is in a mood.
Mads is getting a bit ornery. Must be time for him to do some "o glorious sanding"!
AKA in the Caribbean as “Green Chicken” great on the barbie. 😋😢
When I was there, we found Navionics sonar charts accurate enough to keep afloat. Glad you finally found them. And our bad pun was hutia and the blowhole.
I thought he was smarter than to tell mother in law jokes on video ! Will regret that one. LMAO.
🎶 I wish I was in Tijuana... 🎶
🎵 Eating Bar-B-Queued iguana. 🎵
I'd take requests on the telephone

I'm on a wavelength far from home.
I am so glad you made it to Wardrick Wells, we were there in March and it was freaking amazing! We grabbed a ball near Emerald Rock, we are a trimaran and are quite wide so we didn’t want to try the inside moorings. So glad you got to stay there. I had to pinch myself everyday to remind myself it was real, it is such a stunning place. ❤️
14:05 🫶🍓👌
Never seen the sea so blue
Blowhole Blowhole Blowhole.... sorry, my buzz was fading and I needed a little boost. LOL. Iguanas are cute.. Wait till you see the ones in south Florida... Big and colorful... Great video.. Ron. & Deb
Real, real funny, real smart. I believe in could hang out with you chaps. cheers!
I love the Bahamas!
Your mom jokes are always appropriate
I used navionics on a trip from the DR to Florida. I was not sure how accurate it was but the boat only had the western Caribbean chip in it. I was able to use both systems once I passed mayaguana and while I was nervous at times with the depths, the navionics did not steer me wrong. The berry islands are surprisingly shallow in places. Draft was 4 1/2 feet.
Such an amazing looking area. Choosing The Big Bang Theory theme tune as the song to try on the Musical Rock - just brilliant 😁😂
In a story that features both blowholes and iguanas, there is a semi famous blowhole in the Galapagos, where if you wait long enough, you will occasionally see one of the many marine iguanas of the area get caught in the current and be blown up and out of the ocean through the blowhole. Not sure how the little critter does after the adventure but you have to believe it’s quite the shock.
I see you guys are currently in Port Canaveral! Getting closer!
15:09 Neverland (right on top) - Isn't that Tula's Endless Summer's powerboat?
Just an fyi I’ve watched @AlluringArctic sale into super narrow rocky areas in Alaska using a drone flying high above.
It may be sad and regrettable that this species may become extinct but just Google iguanas in Florida to see what happens when they flourish.
They are a scourge. Iguanas are not native species in Florida
Neither are Pythons, Lion fish oriental Carp and quite a few others moving with the climate shift and escape/ releases.
That said the Blue green beasties you get are impressive beasts and beautiful colours.
Every time there is a cold snap they have warnings to beware of iguanas falling out of trees. There us not much worse than a torpid iguana falling 20 or more feet onto your head they're pretty heavy sometimes
Ava: “…this guy’s beefy”
Mads: “mMMmm”
run iggy, run! 😂 oops… 4,999
Coming from a land with the highest incidence of melanoma and other sun exposure related skin cancers in the world, sun screens are your best friend and very, very cheap insurance. You won't see the results of excessive sun exposure for many years. Enjoy and stay safe.
Bonzo Dog Band wrote a song about the best solution, "Shirt". I'm sick to death of plastering myself in goop so I just put on 50+ UV shirt and long trousers. I've seen too many folks in their 40s getting pieces of their butts grafted onto their noses. My friend aged 34 died from melanoma on his back. Left 3 children under 10 with his wife and no insurance!
That’s no iguana that’s a Komodo dragon!
Hi, come on LADS all together , put on a show , There is a couple of VIP's ON THE BEACH and a rare breed called the Mads an Ava and only two of them in the world and they say were getting rare . ?
I'm a broken record, you really need to try Bequia. It's the opposite direction your going now, but when you come back down you have to visit.
We got nothing like that in Denmark 😅😂😅
Those shell things on the seaside rocks…. CHITONS
💫👍💫😊
You're fucking awesome, love your videos.
Should you EVER get to MIDDLE PERCY on the Great Barrier Reef...check out PERCY HILTON A-frame with 1000's of signs, buoys, etc.
Eva, you are so adorably halerious, witha wit so entertaining that I would encourage your personal travel channel. Mats can visit if he leaves off the"yo mama jokes."
I was thinking of this channel recently when it was reported that a lot of people are getting norovirus swimming in and around the Grand Canyon national park in the U.S., in various waterfall pools etc. So perhaps his reluctance to swim in small pools with 300 unwashed masses is justified...
I acutally like that raster charts gets pixelly when You zoom in enough. It represents the accuracy of the underlying chartdata better than a vector chart. A cector chart is seemingly accurate down to the meter, where as the chart data actually isn't. A raster map zoomed in and pixelated warns You in a very intuitive way that You might be here, or somewhere around here.
17:00 oh... what did you feed Mads? XD
Good eating
Sailing on the Chesapeake Bay is a lot safer with a Hummingbird or other depth or fish finder.
Those are Marine Iguanas.
33 million years, huh. Ok
I did turn "blow hole" into a drinking game but now I'm dead!
I like your trailer winch dinghy thingy..can you send link on brand and model? How's it holding up in salt water environment?
IGUANA go there!
Raster charts are typically a scanned image of a paper chart that has been georeferenced, sometimes quite poorly. Vector Electronic Navigation Charts tend to be more interactive and provide data on various features to the mariner. I can't speak for third party electronic navigational companies but in my experience as a hydrographer, international HOs are getting away from providing raster charts in favour of the vector ENCs as they're considered more powerful and flexible.
Looks like a gum boot native Alaskans harvest them to eat. They have bones in there spine they also make into earrings
Plenty of iguanas in the world.
Cute huh? I guess you had to be there!
⛵⛵⛵⛵⛵⛵⛵⛵⛵⛵
I don't understand going to the states for hurricane season? Wouldn't it be better to go further south for hurricane season? That's not a criticism. I don't know where the best place is.
👍👌❤️🇨🇦
Hvordan gikk det med svogerens (din) katamaran-reparasjon?
Does Athena still have the standard 1.5m Warrior 38 draft? How have you found the Bahamas in term of water depth?
I wonder if the boat name at the top of the pole, Neverland, is the trawler Billy and Sierra owned?
6:28 my guess is a limpet?
$30 a night seems unreasonable to me ! $15 would be more like it.
Is Mads’ spicy level a function of temperature? 😂
I has been a pleasure
Just watch out for gojira…
Beautiful shots, thanks for bringing us along. Eva, when on bow watch, maybe have a vest, just incase Mad’s hits something and Athena does a sudden stop. Just thinking of Y’all. Hurry north.
Remember, iguanas taste like chicken!
I wondered what they tasted like, but would NEVER want to actually eat one.
Interesting update 2x👍
Use the 3D printer to make the sign.
Sounds like some CNC jealousy 😂
