I was trying to guess what it would turn out to be. You had me stumped! What an incredible idea to finish it! A stunning piece, as ever. The green colour "behind" the sticks (it's how it looked to me) gave me a flashback to a riverbank we'd go to when I was a kid around 50 years ago. It was full of rounded, smooth pebbles and the river was surrounded by dark green trees in summer, making the water look the same. We'd skim the pebbles across it and it was great fun. You gave me one of my happy memories of playing with my dad, so thank you for that 😊
You know I tried making a epoxy resin bedside light but it didn't cure properly, too many bubbles, I later figured out that using a vacuum chamber would have helped tremendously. A pricey lesson but I became disheartened by the idea and shelved it. But after seeing this Andy, I feel inspired to try again. Thanks for always being a great source for ideas and inspiration.😊

As I was watching I kept thinking, what the heck is he doing? Halfway thru I thought it would be a cool light, but then you started making that other wood piece and I was scratching my head again. Surprise, it was a light! Neato keen, dude!
Oh dear. Spider-man has an accident with his webshooters in Andy's workshop... again. 😆. More seriously, do you have any particular method for selecting pieces of wood that are essentially going to be completely sacrificed (like the initial piece the twigs and branches were glued to) for a piece like this?
I never expected to find out what the inside of a basketball looked like on a peerless woodturner's UA-cam channel. (Turns out the ball really sticks.)
Love it. Who would have thought that some sticks and resin would look so amazing
I wasn’t expecting the addition of the lighting element. It’s a beautiful design.
So creative!! Well done!! Thanks, Andy!!
It looks like you just snap your fingers and it all comes together but I know it takes a lot of time and patience to create something so nice
It's been a while since you've made a light! I've missed your hybrid creations. This was a very nice video to wake up to!
I did NOT see that coming! I love it. You're amazing Andy! Thanks for sharing.😀
Fantastic, amazing amount of patience with all that gluing and beautiful piece of yew for the base. Lovely 😊
I have to say I questioned where you were going with this, but....just wow, that's awesome. Great idea and great job....❤❤❤
So wonderful never imagined you were going to place a light inside wow! 😊
Always appreciate your videos. Part of the weekly ritual.
What a fun piece! Thanks for sharing!

So creative. Wouldn't have guessed the final outcome. - Chris
Are there any limits to this man's creativity? I'm beginning to suspect that there are not. Thank you for sharing your talent.
Made me smile. ❤
What a beautiful lamp.
Quite spectacular! When I saw the thumbnail I had no idea how you would go about creating that shape - very cool to see!
At the start, I thought you were going to make a bowl and then you did that. Terrific.
A very nice design, a lovely piece of art.
Best use for a basketball I’ve ever seen.
Creative, versatile and beautiful! Loved it!
That would be great as a bowl too! Another beauty Andy!

Hi Andy! A really wonderful master piece 👍. Best regards from Hans and can be continued 🍻🇦🇹.
Great idea... but I think it must be real electrified... for a smooth light... and with a LED-bulb in... perfect!!!
I love it!!!
Well done...🎩👍👍🇩🇪🔨

Hi Andy. Big fan. I am actually Noah’s brother who is friends with zac. And just wanted to say these are sick.

You come with these creative ideas and all I see is firewood. 😅
Awesomeness.
Amazing ❤
If it would last a long time, it would be wonderful to have a sink made like this bowl.
Too cool!
Verrrry cute :)
Mesmerizing...I'll never see a tree the same way again...I am transfixed...
Very cool..

Kinda feels like you're flexing on us with all those Forstner bits

What are you using at the 03:45 mark to get the piece out of the pressure pot?
its my carving jig
OK...

Yes .. I just used construction timber
I never expected to find out what the inside of a basketball looked like on a peerless woodturner's UA-cam channel.
(Turns out the ball really sticks.)
Could you shoot air between the ball and the piece to remove it and reuse it? Is it even reusable? I have no idea
Its probably a bit big but that works on smaller pieces
Ah, yes. The resin spider web that has decorated so many lathes and shops of woodworkers. I thought you were making a cookie jar not a lamp.
Early on , I was thinking that it would make a unique lampshade. Little did i know...
Why the first section of wood? Since you removed it all, you might as well have just made the stick cutoffs and resin.
The wood form is what I glue the sticks to.. and the resin waste was minimal
@@AndyPhillipWoodturning thank you, I didn't consider it was sacrificial, I thought you changed your mind as you went.
Was your push stick a proctologist in the past?
That epoxy really makes a mess! But it's worth it. Well done.
Ah yes, the most baller of lathes.
Woodturning? I see so much macro and micro plastics flying around. Pity.
как чашка - очень неплохо, а как ночник - отстой!
