It is so annoying that those two guys try to act tough and cool, while Pete who actually lived it is calm and humble.
Init ! Let the guy tell the fucking story ! You can tell he’s jumping forwards and then backwards with the story all the time ! I’m not saying don’t ask him questions but keep the questions to the part he’s at with the story
This is probably the best interview with Pete I have seen. Deserves many more views. Asking him if he killed someone is kind of disrespectful to ask IMO.
I do agree and I regret in some sense but in the midst of an intense conversation it’s tough, learning progress though. I’m glad you enjoyed this mate.

I completely agree with your comment but regarding the question on whether or not he liked anyone I think I’m glad it was asked as sometimes these hard shitty questions have to asked so I have to respect that he did but again your comment was bang on
It's like asking someone that came back from war if they killed someone. My cousin had nightmares from being in the shit, and he is desperately trying to overcome it. When someone asks that, and they aren't a military member that experienced the same thing, he gets really upset.
In the early 90s we had a maintenance type guy who worked around our school who was a Vietnam vet, he agreed to come talk to our 6th grade class about the war. We were instructed beforehand not to ask him things about killing and drugs. It took about five seconds before kids starting asking about if he did drugs and killed people over there. Kids are such jerks. He took it in stride though. I don't remember his specific answers but the basic idea was "men do things in war they regret."
I disagree. He spoke openly about murders that he witnessed, it was a difficult question but was asked at the right time. I don’t think Cullen expected a blunt answer and was caught on the back foot. Good interview overall

From Newport area myself and never been through anything anywhere near this guy's experience and cudos to him for coming out the other side of it with his sanity. What I do understand though is the concept of an idea of putting your thoughts into word and writing about something that is a big part of your life as a sort of self therapy.
I became obsessed with the Zodiac case in America and researched and wrote an article about one of the main suspects in the case which led to the History Channel asking me to take part in a mini series they were planning called hunt for the zodiac killer. I often say when I first got the email from Beth the producer I thought one of the boys was winding me up and almost replied "Very funny, f off mate" lol. Glad I didn't. But yeah, I'm helping a family now in Texas of a woman who was viciously murdered and discovered info in that case which recently made the news over there and got know the young woman's husband and family well.
The point of all this? This all came about from having thoughts and ideas along with researching the case that I wrote about and published myself online and once you have a channel like history come along, it opens doors.
All of us are good at something, every single one of us, it's just finding it and discovering the potential. Anyhow, couple of links if my fellow Welshman will allow such a shameless plug for my most recent article about the case in Texas.

For definite man. The way he looked off to the side after he said it looked like it was almost a relief for him to say it out loud. He said himself coming onto podcasts and talking about all this stuff has helped him massively. I’d be willing to bet that this weighed on him very heavily.
