@webbbyte PART II.... thus if you were to look and listen around youtube and see what kids are listening too, you will see that gospel music for their age group will have some relationship to that. I know traditionalist hate the very thought of that but it is what it is. It is why Mary Mary and Kirk can do what they do. And, it isn't all bad. Mali Music and T-Bone long before him have been a relate-able voice/sound for teens. To get a real good answer though, we can just sample/ask ask teens
@webbbyte oh, I concur, some teens may very well relate and love it.... I am admittedly painting with broad strokes here. But, I think that the "some" is a very small minority. It would almost have to be. Gospel music, through the ages, has been closely related to the music of the era. Thus the boat songs and field songs yielded hymns, the do-wop era saw that sound creep into the church, the temptations, and groups like them sparked a like-sounding change to male chorus music and so forth.
good vocals i don't like its' use for a Youth Revival or anything for young kids/teens/young adults can't imagine a 14 year old equating his/her feeling for God/Christ as Him being a "Wonder in" his or her soul check out some videos by Jelly Rose 11 year old gospel singer out of Kansas invite her to anything there will be young people at like ages 4 to 30 look her up on here Jelly Rose try the song Suicide she opened for Mali Music with and the "Spiritual High" performance
