So I finally gave these a try. I really like them! I don’t think they feel all that much like leather, but I think if people don't go into it with that expectation they'll be happy with what they find.
I'd love to see Puma use this upper material on a proper speed boot.

Is it true to size in the US size? Or are they smaller. Im a 10.5 and puma lists their 10.5 at 44 EU. And Adidas 10.5 is 44⅔ and Nike's 10.5 is 44.5. I was planning on ordering but ita the first time I'll wear them so I don't know the sizing
With all these boot makers giving up on kangaroo leather, I worry that Australia will be overrun by the bouncy beasts

I had absolutely zero interest in these at first. But then the K-Better synthetic is being compared to the Vapor 8 and 9 Teijin synthetic uppers and now the King Ultimate has my undivided attention. I wonder if the women’s version has an even narrower fit or built on an entirely different last. Definitely going on the bucket list.
This launch colorway is absolutely gorgeous. Flashbacks to the white/blue Vapor 8 from spring 2012.
Those white vapor 8's are some of the best looking boots ever made imo. These are really nice too, though I wish they'd kept it a bit simpler with the detailing.
For sure! Not sure on the women's silo, but it would definitely be a good option if it is narrower fit!
@@jeffzie151 That boot is 11 years old, and it still looks great. Better than anything today. The Vapor 8 had a svelte, elegant silhouette. I don't mid the texturing too much, but the orange accents on the instep is a blemish on these.
@@varelaiazul817 It's super odd how in the last decade the vapors have had an air of simplicity about them, a light upper on a light sole with good traction. Done. Yet they've been exciting all the way through.
I feel like this King's a fair competitor, but in the wrong silo.
@@jeffzie151 Nike has some slick marketing, and they have done a flawless job keeping the Mercurial line fresh and relevant. They hooked me when I was a teenager. Not to diminish the boots themselves, I loved all the Vapors that I've used.
I would love to see a King Ultimate with the soleplate from the Ultra.
For the women's boot shape, I don't know about this model but for the previous women's ultras, they had more volume in The toe box and narrower heel.

This is gonna be my first Puma King boots. Since I did not have any leather boots before. So I don't really have leather feels. It will be coming tommorow. I am really excited to try.

Hey Noah, great first impression, was waiting for this video 😅. These new kings are actually great. They have the softness of a thin peice of leather, and it's super distractionless.
I've owned them for about 2 wks, and the upper softens up like crazy especially in the forefoot after a few wears. It's gets like butter. The weight is actually lighter than the future which is great. The only negative for me personally is the small gap between my medial ankle and the upper, doesn't seem to affect performance but still. And imo the heel padding is much better than the puma ultra ultimates. The kings are softer and have more padding but still hold the heel well. Also the ultra is definitely narrower but have a rommier toe box. please do a 1 MONTH REVIEW😅 it's a boot that deserves it since puma is the first brand to take the big step in switching to synthetic leathers. (And nike has announced it will follow next year). Great content as always 👌

Thanks for the in-depth review Noah! I was hoping to hear these would be great straight out the box for wide footed players. Interested to see how they break in if you do the one month review. I’m currently trying a pair of Tiempo Legend 9s pro but wanted to get the Tiempo Elite MI for matches. Are there any big differences in fit between the regular Tiempo and the MI? Would be awesome if you did a top 5 boots for wide feet video as well, curious to see which are the best to you.
By MI are you referring to the Tiempo 9 Montebelluna version? If so, those are amazing too - they are stiffer straight out of the box compared to the regular Tiempo 9, but after 1 or 2 hours, they're SO SOFT and I prefer them over the regular ones! Definitely working on the Wide Foot boot video 👍🏼

If you're talking about the 2.0 model, they're the same upper with some different texture. Still the same K-Better material

Noah, your opinion on the near end of kangaroo leather boots? Do you feel like the big brands feel the pressure from the animal rights groups or do you think it could also be a smoke screen so they can use cheaper materials but still charge us a premium price. It’s definitely a smoke screen. Plastic is cheap. Australia has terrible inflation and the brands are probably paying way more that they used to for the leather. They are also appealing to the climate mob so they don’t lose PR
I don't think it's a bad thing so long as they keep up the quality of materials! The Pure.1 was a very good execution of calf leather, so we'll see how far they can take it. I also think lots of other brands from Europe and Asia will continue to use premium K-leather in the their boots - Mizuno, Pantofolo D'oro, and Asics to name a few. At the end of the day the material doesn't really matter to me so long as the on-feet experience is premium and comfortable 👍🏼
My go to boot is still the mercurial vapor 11s, as im not a fan of the new knit uppers. Do you think this resembles it at all?

Hi Mate, nice review as always, thinking on switching to this ones as i've just got a puma ultra 2023 but they are so uncomfortable, i have the ultra in size 8.5 and there is a good half cm of space in front of my toes, would you suggest to go with size 8 with the king? My feet is exactly 26 cm. Just don't want them to crush my feet, but i don't like that extra space neither, i do have speedportal.1 in size 8 and even there there is some extra space . Cheers

I went down to the shop this morning and got my self a Furon v7+ i just try them on and i fell in love straight away 💯 what an amazing boot!
Maybe youre a 9.5 in Puma Noah, have you tried? I know Puma's USA 10.5 IS 44 EU. Adidas 10.5 is 44⅔... And Nike's 10.5 is 44.5. i ordered some Ultra at 44 seeing they are the 10.5 and foind them a bit tight by a little, got blosters in back and after breaking in they were fine, but when tried ti bandage my ankles for matches found it was bothering in tbe back... They were the yellow green Ultra so i donr know the new colors and the 2.0 Ultra fare now. I need to order some new ultra but i have no idea what size. I wanted some puma king too but i know they fit different from the Ultra. Why cant they make the aizing universal 😢
Maybe mate, although the length of the boot fits totally fine, and I actually go DOWN 1/2 size in the Future Ult. Might try the king on in store in a 9.5 though 🧐

@@NoahCavanaughok I get this comment even more now. I'm a few sessions in and these are still killing my big toes 😅
I got them with the MG soleplate (only Pro model has MG) and the sizing definitely runs 1/4 size long like the Future in that soleplate. I'm gonna keep them because some of the AG pitches I play on in the summer are dangerously flat and compacted from the snow and the MG is a LOT safer.
One highlight of the Pro version is that the heel seems to be more padded and it's a traditional design. Reminds of the Tiempo Legend Elite, which I own as well.
When comparing the fit between the King and the Phantom GX, is the toebox just as pointy? Do you have the same issue with your toes crunched up?

The Gx has a much lower volume toe box, but both are about as pointy from a width perspective.
How's the upper compared to Ultimate model?
@@MattPro47 I don't actually have the ultimate model in hand but judging from videos I'd dare to say it's pretty much the same. Super soft and breaks in nicely. And I'd say, due to puma's track record, it's possibly the exact same.

I am not sure to get the MG version or normal FG/AG now.
How does the MG sole perform?
@@MattPro47 For me, the MG soleplate is literally the best AG specific soleplate in the market. It will perform in both new and old, dense and shallow, soft and hard, artificial grass. I pretty much never get stuck in the turf and always have plenty of grip.
Please note I never use it on nice natural grass, as the studs are too short but if you play on dry hard ground with shallow grass it will be great as it won't give you stud pressure either.
Hey Noah quick question knowing that many players like there shoes real snug do you deal with pressure on your toe nails I’ve had that problem before and idk if it’s because I’m getting the wrong size or what it might be
A little, but that usually goes away after some break in time

Noah come on, Tiempo Legend III wos made from typical kangaroo leather - front of them. Kanga Lite - this name of synthetic material wos use only in Nike CTR boots.
You're correct that the REGULAR version of the Tiempo Legend III was kangaroo leather, I'm talking about the ELITE version that was a FULLY Kanga-Lite upper. 👍🏼 I still have the maroon pair I put on screen!
This versus the Vapor 15 Elite AG-Pro?
Depends on what you’re looking for! I’d say the Vapor is definitely the more tech focused boot 🫡

@@MattPro47 You're the one with the touch mate! They're both thin and lack distractions 🤝 Soleplate is much more responsive on the Vapor. I have videos on both - I would advise to go and watch those too!

@@MattPro47 Yes! Puma's MGs are "safer" but at the end of the day if you want the absolute safest model you go for the TF version of the boot.
