By the way, I was homeless 13 yrs ago and now my children are all grown up and have jobs and I have a job and do community outreach working with homeless and single mothers! It feels so good to give back

I can remember a time in my life when I was so deeply depressed that my waist length hair only got combed once or twice a month. I wasn't homeless. I had an unemployed husband, three toddlers and another one on the way. I remember those days when it took an hour to comb my hair to get that tangled mess neat enough to visit in-laws. I feel for these poor dear souls you and your family/friends seem to help. I really hope you're real not just a show for gauckers! I wouldn't like used like that. I watch and see the joy your work makes for so many people. Do so desperately hope you're showing the truth!

Wow alot of these comments suck, I live in a city that has alot of homeless ppl, I been around them and I helped them when I can. I have seen homeless pregnant women with nice teeth and well kept eyebrows. This man has done incredible with that pregnant women, bless his heart! I'd like to know how she and her baby girl is doing now and I pray she is in a much better place with her daughter.
I've worked in the homelessness sector for the last 20 years. We are all one bad circumstance or decision away from our own fortunate lives changing. The gift of being able to make someone feel valued or just feel good is always worth it. Do what you can to help others. Whether this is real or not doesn't matter, it raises awareness. Take care ❤
If you pluck your eyebrows long enough, the hairs you kept plugging don't grow back anymore. Also, some people just have nice teeth naturally even without dental care. It happens. It doesn't mean that they can't be homeless.

This would be beautiful if it were really real. It's an act of kindness to get the ball rolling so that ppl don't judge so much. There are some that become homeless and give up on life completely but I'm so thankful I didn't slip into that mentality. I spent the majority of my 20's homeless and a random person walking past me wouldn't know. I kept myself up and still managed to function without looking like I hadn't bathed in months. Life is hard and society is a jerk so I pray for those that are going thru a rough time. It hurts like hell but most things in this life do. Take it one day at a time and keep ur head up, it'll get better eventually💕💕💕💕💕

Bcuz when I was homeless, there was a guy that came to this rec room to cut hair for free every week for the men.. but when I asked if I could do the same for the women I was told NO. I did it anyways but just in an abandoned building n kept it on the low. It's how I got off the streets. Like the person beneath said, most places don't want to be bothered with someone that looks like what they're going thru. But for the places that are actually doing this, I commend them for caring and giving back/paying it forward. Thing is, if the person u help isn't ready to help themselves... they'll only end up looking like this again in no time🤷♀️

As to the comments: lets say its all fake, it still motivates people to open their eyes to the plight of others who may be truly in need of help. Many of us think, what could we do to help? I think the videos are wonderful, showing who resides under that unattractive picture. We're all real people who have no idea of what could happen to us.

This film was staged, but the overall idea is real. Homelessness is everywhere (although you have to want to get to such a state of dirt etc) and it is very nice that some hair salons offer vouchers to be used for specific treatments for homeless. Hair is one of our business cards when looking for a job, for example, so its good condition can bring someone closer to getting out of homelessness. It is also logical that the vast majority of people will not want to announce that this person is or was homeless. For this reason, I think the film is great in terms of message and the use of an actress for it (whoever agreed to take part in it) does not interfere with anything.
@@standdown4929 I think that if the client is under the influence of some substances, then in this type of services it is possible to refuse to perform the procedure. It's not even just about patience with this man, it's about your own safety. Even the emergency services must first take care of their own safety, so similarly others must also take care of safety first.

I left my husband in 2015 because of domestic violence and my situations was so bad that I had to move 3 hours away to save my life and went to a domestic violence shelter 3 months after being there I had to leave cause my time was up in the shelter so I ended up on the streets not knowing my way around and I hadn't made many friends at the shelter . I was treated so bad when I was homeless . But it was better than getting. beat . My point is that the homeless are people to with a story . It's kind to know their are people out there who actually have empathy and who want to help . I'm glad to see videos such as this one .

I can remember a time in my life when I was so deeply depressed that my waist length hair only got combed once or twice a month. I wasn't homeless. I had an unemployed husband, three toddlers and another one on the way. I remember those days when it took an hour to comb my hair to get that tangled mess neat enough to visit in-laws.
I feel for these poor dear souls you and your family/friends seem to help. I really hope you're real not just a show for gauckers! I wouldn't like used like that.

Wow alot of these comments suck, I live in a city that has alot of homeless ppl, I been around them and I helped them when I can. I have seen homeless pregnant women with nice teeth and well kept eyebrows. This man has done incredible with that pregnant women, bless his heart! I'd like to know how she and her baby girl is doing now and I pray she is in a much better place with her daughter.
I've worked in the homelessness sector for the last 20 years. We are all one bad circumstance or decision away from our own fortunate lives changing. The gift of being able to make someone feel valued or just feel good is always worth it. Do what you can to help others. Whether this is real or not doesn't matter, it raises awareness. Take care ❤

It is wonderful, really, but i know/have seen many homeless ppl who ld get help n don´t take it. It is sad n confusing, but ve to be accepted.

This would be beautiful if it were really real. It's an act of kindness to get the ball rolling so that ppl don't judge so much. There are some that become homeless and give up on life completely but I'm so thankful I didn't slip into that mentality. I spent the majority of my 20's homeless and a random person walking past me wouldn't know. I kept myself up and still managed to function without looking like I hadn't bathed in months. Life is hard and society is a jerk so I pray for those that are going thru a rough time. It hurts like hell but most things in this life do. Take it one day at a time and keep ur head up, it'll get better eventually💕💕💕💕💕

Bcuz when I was homeless, there was a guy that came to this rec room to cut hair for free every week for the men.. but when I asked if I could do the same for the women I was told NO. I did it anyways but just in an abandoned building n kept it on the low. It's how I got off the streets. Like the person beneath said, most places don't want to be bothered with someone that looks like what they're going thru. But for the places that are actually doing this, I commend them for caring and giving back/paying it forward. Thing is, if the person u help isn't ready to help themselves... they'll only end up looking like this again in no time🤷♀️

This film was staged, but the overall idea is real. Homelessness is everywhere (although you have to want to get to such a state of dirt etc) and it is very nice that some hair salons offer vouchers to be used for specific treatments for homeless. Hair is one of our business cards when looking for a job, for example, so its good condition can bring someone closer to getting out of homelessness. It is also logical that the vast majority of people will not want to announce that this person is or was homeless.
For this reason, I think the film is great in terms of message and the use of an actress for it (whoever agreed to take part in it) does not interfere with anything.
Here in America, most are drug addicted crazies. Good luck holding them down long enough to cut their hair.
@@standdown4929 I think that if the client is under the influence of some substances, then in this type of services it is possible to refuse to perform the procedure. It's not even just about patience with this man, it's about your own safety. Even the emergency services must first take care of their own safety, so similarly others must also take care of safety first.

Instead of drug addiction, alcoholism is more common here. However, various services are doing quite well, which is why over time it is an increasingly rare sight. In addition, homelessness itself probably has a different background. Here, the main reason for it is (most often) alcoholism, some choose homelessness to be free (dormitories are free, so apart from the discomfort associated with it, It is easy to earn for your needs by collecting cans or performing small orders). We also have lower crime here.

The point of this video is for people to always remember to be kind and understand that what one person takes for granted another person is diligently praying for. Never ever take the blessings in your life no matter how big or small for granted because someone is always worse off than you and would love to be in your shoes if you're better off than they are.

I left my husband in 2015 because of domestic violence and my situations was so bad that I had to move 3 hours away to save my life and went to a domestic violence shelter 3 months after being there I had to leave cause my time was up in the shelter so I ended up on the streets not knowing my way around and I hadn't made many friends at the shelter . I was treated so bad when I was homeless . But it was better than getting. beat . My point is that the homeless are people to with a story . It's kind to know their are people out there who actually have empathy and who want to help . I'm glad to see videos such as this one .

Un simple acto de solidaridad puede recuperar sueños perdidos y colocar a quienes en silencio e invisibles pasan a nuestro lado nuevamente en el camino de la esperanza. También debemos pensar que no siempre podremos ver un final feliz como en este caso, por eso hago un llamado a cada corazón vuestro para que cada día sea un poco más de aquello que pregonamos ser, humanos. Ser solidarios no es un valor apreciado, no es una obligación, es un deber de nuestra misión encomendada aquí y ahora. No lo olvides nunca!

@@marycabrera5565 , he visto y sigo viendo situaciones como esta, también existen especuladores que aprovechan la bondad de la gente para obtener réditos, sin embargo estos casos apelan a nuestra conciencia mostrándonos lo indiferentes que suelen ser ciertas personas que creen que con solo mirarse el propio ombligo la fortuna a les sonríe. De vez en cuando resulta bueno recordar que otros necesitan ayuda, sean mujeres, hombres o niños.
Este es el objetivo de estos videos, recordarnos que no estamos solos, que tener un simple grano de arena de empatía nos hace mejores.
