@@CanadianCarpinHolidays thank you Paul. I have some serious traveling to do. It’s crazy how carp fishing venues are so few and far between out here. Where I used to live in the uk there were several lakes and gravel pits in my area that were all within a 15-20 minute drive. Out here, in New Mexico, the closest place is like a 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive. I fished there last year. A place called heron lake. I had one common which was probably 8lb. Nobody goes there for carp. I wasn’t even trying for carp. I just need to do more research and see what I can find that’s remotely close to where I live.
Yes Paul, Buffalo are sometimes referred to as 'buffalo carp' to the chagrin of biologists. Buffalo and carp are not even closely related. Both species of buffalo are sucker species.
