- The Sony Liv ICF-M410V AM FM Weather and TV band portable radio provides very smooth sounding audio along with decent sensitivity. The radio also has some nice curves, and is a "looker" for sure :)

Thank you Mitchell K.for supporting the channel with this generous donation! It will be used for many years.
Features I like about this Radio:
Smooth sound audio, can listen to it for hours.
Decent Sensitivity.
Great for Local Broadcasts.
Weather Band.
Slim Profile.
Sleek Design.
Clock.
Alarm.
Sleep Function.
Dedicated Preset Buttons.
DC input jack.
Runs on AA batteries.
Lock Switch.
Overall, I can see why this radio is popular in the used marketplace. The sleek design and easy listening audio is a must for most people. The fact it has the weather band, clock, and alarm make it a great backup radio for emergencies as well.
Thank you for watching.

My sister passed away Feb. And she had one of these. Didn't think much about the little radio.Put some batteries in about an hour ago watched your video and now I'm in radio heaven thanks for your info
I got one at goodwill recently and I love it
I’ve got three of these. Got them at Target, if memory serves. Still going strong after 20-ish years. Listened to Pat Hughes call Game 7 of the 2016 World Series from 250 miles away on one of them.
Nice radio. Thank you for the band scan. I think it helps me more when you do day time scans. That's usually the best time to see, in my book, how sensitive the radios really are. Thanks again for the review 👍
WE STILL HAVE ANALOG TV BROADCASTS HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES UNTIL 2023. I PICKED UP ONLY 5 or 6 ANALOG TV CHANNELS ON VHF here in MANILA.
I have the same radio, but with different "cosmetics": The buttons are white, not silver, and there is no "liv" logo. The body is also a darker white/grey. Happy to send you a picture if you want.
I have seen this radio in a coffee color as well.
Great little radio, and awesome it was a donation!
That Iron Man theme never gets old hahah, he's the man with the master plan!
That unassuming speaker packs a surprising amount of bass
I'm fast becoming a Sony fanboy. Not all, but most. I'd like to see band scans with this model. Thank you, Todd!
I owned this one once. My wife was cleaning near it one day and ripped off the antenna by accident. I was sad to see it go.
I am envious of your location for receiving MW stations. Maybe I’ve got too much RFI at my location, or maybe I just can’t tune as well as Radio Todderbert! Great job!
I bought two back in the day. Great sound, very sensitive, terrible selectivity. 92.9 takes up 92.6 to 93.0! (The ICF-SW7600GR just as bad on FM). These were selling for $300 on eBay for a brief period, but for $35-$50 well worth it. Harder to find is the wall-wart.
Very hard to see how sony ever made a profit from their radios. You buy one and 20-30 years later they are still working just as well as on the day it came out of the box. I have one of these, bought about twenty years ago, and it is a very nice machine somehow for just putting on the desk in front of you when you are working. The styling is a little bizarre in the way that lots of electronic items became in the early 2000s (before minimal or retro emerged as the dominant look for the new century). The sound is exceptionally clear, you can wake up to it and set it to switch off when you go to bed. I bought mine in a fancy department store in London. It was a top end item in its day. The European ones have no weather channel (not a thing here) but there is LW. A great product.
I love Sony! Please, more Sony radios on the channel, thanks
I've had this model for 20÷ years and it's still works perfectly. However I need a power adapter. What exactly am I looking for? 4.5v generic wall adapter? Thanks for the most excellent review! This is why we love UA-cam.
You need a standard 4.5V wall adapter with the changeable tips to make sure you have the right fit. The center is positive, while the outside sleeve is negative. This is the standard, and Sony usually is the opposite, but on this radio they got it right :)
ALSO TRY RETEKESS V-111, press favorite button and tune into 54.0 or 54.05 MHz in order to pick up strong weather band channel but low volume and weak signal on wide FM.
Francis, I have the V-111 but "Tivdio" Brand. Are Tivdio and Retekess the same company?
Yes, the Retekess label is replacing the Tividio one. There must be a huge inventory of Tivdio radios out there still ;) One made my Top 10 List for 2020, due to come out in a few days.
Thank you Francis. I learned something new about the V-111. I just tuned to those frequencies and they match with 162.55 MHz.
Definitely a nice radio.
I like it.
((I’ve got a Sony weather radio coming up soon on Tom’s. Not nearly as cool as yours, but a pretty nice one)).
Yeah, I’d like to see a Daytime band scan.
📻🙂
I'm jealous of Tom ;)
I hope I don't have to wait too long to see it. If that's Tom's next review, that would be awesome.
TVRadio1972
I have no idea.
He does them in whatever order he feels.
I only get a small clue occasionally.
📻😁
@@jeffking291 I saw his radio review of the Panasonic RF-562DD. With the additional D, I was afraid that a DSP version of that radio was made. Thank goodness that model is also analog.
TVRadio1972
Apparently the extra “D” means that it can take a WallWart, to plug it in.
[ but does not come with one.].
It is completely analog.
📻🙂
It sounds good. Nice speaker...
@todderbert ...Mono, or Scanner Headphones will play in both ears, or a "Stereo to Mono" Adapter, cheaply available at www.RadioShack.com will work also work with Stereo Headphones. Nice Review Todd!
I can only pickup one station on my weather radios. Is this because of my location? I guess the antenna makes a difference ..
The radio can make a difference, also you can check the US map to see how close the different towers are from you. www.weather.gov/nwr/Maps
WEATHER BAND IN SONY RADIO ARE TOO WIDE TO FIT ON ANY 7 channels. Not narrow but it uses FM radio quality same as VHF TV SOUND AS WELL. Narrow FM band can tune on different 7 weather band channels are HRD-737 VHF RADIO, Vondior 300WB, Midland ER210, etc..
You are a person with a wealth of TV band knowledge, glad to have your comments on my channel! Keep Rocking Francis!!!
So that's why I can only get my nearest NOAA weather station on Sony radios, especially on the SRF-M37V. Thank you Francis.
TVRadio1972 ALSO 162.470 used as HAM RADIO here in the Philippines
We have two of these. We use them if we have a hurricane. Nice review Todd. Thanks 😎👍📻 Oh I'm first I guess
Cool looking radio with a great sound. Unfortunately, Sony is weak when it comes to the weather band. Only the nearest NOAA weather station is recieved on all 3 of my Sony radios with that band. All in all, good radio and great review.
Thanks TVRadio1972, I appreciate your comment. Having the one weather station is good for my location. Hopefully that is the same for most people. Though I love this radio more for it's smooth sounding audio...so good :)
@@todderbert You're welcome.
It looks straight out of the early 90s.
15:18 If there’s Channel 6, why there’s 87.5 On FM Band??
That is the eternal question ;)
i wonder,is it stereo
Without Shortwave Radio is not Good.!
Depending on location, in the US we have a ton of MW broadcasts, so shortwave for me is secondary.
Hello
Which site I purchase this radio??
I speak spanish,
Mfg date 2006
Enough with the radio stations, it takes over the review of the radio
