    Installing a water pressure reducer is not a panacea for all problems associated with surges and pressure differences in the cold water and hot water system. Insufficient pressure of the same cold water supply along with high pressure of hot water supply may not solve the problem of squeezing cold water. Each individual case should be considered comprehensively, everything should be taken into account, the condition of the risers, what is the water pressure in the risers and in the highways located in the basement.

    I wished you had mentioned how pressure reducers can Create a Closed Loop system, and possibly having an adverse effect on water heater pop off valves without installing an expansion tank?

    CleverBill DIY> You wrote "water pressure reducer (regular)". I assume these two terms: "water pressure reducer" and "water pressure regulator" are the same thing. Is it correct?

      The title says - water pressure reducer (regulator). You understood correctly that this is the same thing, just not a regular, but a regulator, from the word regulate water pressure:)

      Es lo mismo solo falta decir que la calidad del regulador marca la duración yo he tenido que cambiar 3 en 12 años
      Y el mas caro no ha sido el mejor

    Hello here too.
    Can you recommend a good brand of water pressure reducer?
    One that keeps the water pressure at the same value, regardless of whether or not I have water consumption.
    Thank you

    Will it completely close the water flow when pressure at the destination(outlet) rises above the setpoint? or just reduse its flow?

    • @CleverBill-DIY
      @CleverBill-DIY  Рік тому +1

      If the pressure rises above the set value, the device will hold the set value at the exit from it.

      @@CleverBill-DIY thanks for answering, but maybe i was not clear. I was talking about pressure at destination (at the outlet shower or mixer when you close it) and not at the source (water pump). Upon rising of pressure: the only way here to MAINTAIN the set value of pressure is to = completely CLOSE the prv and block the flow.
      In fact i just went to a shop where chinese cheap prv's are sold there. The seller told me not waste my money on them because REGULATING/AUTOMATING pressure by these is just a lie. He said they only reduce pressure by a constant value (like a manual valve) and again the fluctuating (extreme over night) pressure will continue to fluctuate but minus the constant value reduced by prv.. Do you think he is right? Or it is only a problem related to cheap brand prv?
