"Just because you're having problems does not mean you are in sin. God uses problems to sanctify you, to make you a better person." - Pastor Peter Tan-Chi

Sanctification is a very Christian experience. And to be absolutely certain that all persons in your congregation are bona fide Christians is against the Bible's accurate estimate --- more tares that wheat. And certainly tares have problems to be addressed pronto by enlightening them with the accurate presentation of the gospel. Reason why Martyn Lloyd Jones's preaching were always evangelistic to seriously address the presence of tares, the majority in his congregation in accord with biblical estimates. The absence of accuracy in presenting the gospel, inclusive of both bad and good news, and non-repentance of the listeners who need to be authentic Christians, is a tragic situation in most Christian churches world-wide, including CCF. Indeed, it's high time to make the necessary adjustments by the powerful enablement of the Holy Spirit, to truly honor God by being firmly biblical ---- preaching the whole counsel of God, and indeed for His glory.

@@petegalvez7955 I agree that not all people who attend the church are real Christians. Some of them are fake but who are we to judge? Only God can judge. Each believer has his/her own faith journey with the Lord. They may start as fake but end up being faithful to God. Some may not have real relationship with God at all. The church is a hospital for sinners, not a club for saints. It's still better for evil people to go to church than not at all. God will change them if they will let Him, if they will choose to be like Christ.

Indeed, "Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us." (Romans 5:3-5) JOY!

Yet, some of the problems are triggered by sin, disobedience.

Pastor Peter forgot to invite them to repent of their sins. For wholehearted repentance is the very start of the Christian life, in order for God to forgive their sins and begin to truly embrace Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Without the initial requirement of heartily sincere repentance, the absence of repentance, which is God's gift (Romans 2:4), there is none of God's forgiveness, and they wind up being fake Christians, evidence of which is lingering difficulty obeying God, even as they claim they are Christians. It's the tragedy of no repentance. Indeed, repentance is God's gift leading to authentic Christianity. Ingat po, CCF.

He's preaching to Christians (people who repented). It is to equip them more as believers. If it leads to repentance, they may repent. As pastors, they shepherd God's people. No need to be a Pharisee who's focused on negatives and acting like you know everything in the bible . At the end of the day, what he's doing is for God's glory.

@@petegalvez7955 Then make your own church where you have altar calls for repentance, problem solved! Otherwise you're just another online backseat driver. Don't like the preaching, don't listen to it, it's that simple. Besides if you really listened to the message Ptr. Peter did address the need for repentance from sin/idolatry. Maybe just not in the way you liked or would have exactly done, then again who are you that people should cater their preaching according to your standards?

@@kmt0837 AHA. It's not a matter of liking or disliking one's preaching. The main and serious consideration for every preaching is God's standard -- its Spirit-energized accuracy in presenting God's Word ---- the whole counsel of God. Consider: Partially right is dangerously wrong. (For self-appointed editors of God's Word, see Deuteronomy 4:2) ---- Reason why, countless pastors and Christians the world over are bereft of such essential knowledge of Bible doctrines which thoroughly enlighten and enrich Christians for their God-ordained spiritual growth. (see 2 Peter 3:18). Yes, literally millons of church goers remain so disadvantaged with preaching focused on God's enticing products (WOW blessings to gather and please crowds) instead of presenting God Himself in accord with Jeremiah 9:23-24, and thus they remain in the dark --- resulting in shallow lives due to shalllow knowledge. Has your church ever taught the sovereignty of God and His non-communicable attributes; and the doctrines of predestination, sanctification, and holiness? Comprehensive knowledge of these catapults Christians to a high level of worship like never before. For "The ultimate goal of all Bible study is not increasing knowledge but increasing holiness and Christlikeness." (John MacArthur) in sync with please embrace God's command -- "Be holy in all your conduct; for it is written, You shall be holy, for I am holy.' " (1 Peter 1:15-16) ---- superbly achievable by the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit indwelling every true Christian (Romans 8:13). And "Before the creation of the world, God chose us in Christ to be holy and blameless . . . " (Ephesians 1:4). Yes, thorough Scriptural knowledge begets incomparable spiritual power, and certainly a life filled with non-stop JOY!
