I regret not actually trying the MGS3 60fps code here, it works great and didn't have any slowdowns. I put a link for more 60fps codes in the description.
I've had my odin 2 for a few weeks now. I'm totally and utterly in love, I just snagged the black 60fps patch, what a game changer. Love your videos man. Thank you!
It would be amazing if you put up a video that described common backend settings what they are and the purposes for each. Basically to help us all customize and tweak settings as we go a bit more intuitively. I just endlessly toggle on/off settings reboot and test. Going at it with more understanding would be HUGE.
Great video. Finally someone who covers VP2. I know its gonna be weird but can you check for the most problematic games’ problematic parts? Like glitches and stuff for ps2 games? I know that VP2 has a glitch in the dungeon maps area with ice skill and all. I think what people actually wonder(who are on the edge of buying) is whether these devices can run these late in the life cycle of the console games which were pushing ps2 to the edge. Same with Wii I remember for example Last Story had an awful performance. Just a suggestion, love your sincere videos.
If I ever get round to playing VP2 I'll cover info on it. The Odin2 will play all PS2, Gamecube and Dreamcast. If people say a certain game here or there is having problems on it I'm mostly confident I could get it working one way or another but I've only come across one game with major issues and that was Rebel Strike on the Gamecube. I remember getting The Last Story running decent enough on MMJR on my Odin Pro so I'm confident the Odin 2 could handle it.
Great to see you continue testing more texture mod packs on the O2 so others can learn setup tips also! fantastic stuff keep them coming! -Goldiez dizcord
I think this was a great tutorial. May we please have one for SEGA stuff? As a SEGA fan, I would sincerely appreciate some great tutorials like this one. Even SEGA Saturn could use a coat of paint. Thank you RoeTaka keep doing a great job mate.
Hmm I'd say it might be worth looking into Dreamcast but a lot of good games on that console are on other systems so idk how much community support there was for that.
Awesome vid - been great watching/learning as i build up my odin2 max. I love discovering black on ps2, but i'm getting slowdown using the 60fps and 2x res that you dont seem to (generally around alpha/transparencies). Is there another setting i'm missing?
Anyone can help ? i got atexture pack, put it on my SDfrom my mac, but once i put the sd back in odin 2, i try to move or copy the replacement file to the internal android files it doesnt work, i click android, then media but it says empty folder i dont get to chose from all the folders to get to the texture one. what am i doing wrong ? thanks
Thank you for these videos. Im new into Android emulation as Ayn Odin 2 is my first device and I really appreciate them, i learn a lot althought it might be obvius stuff for those who already know about it. Do you know if its possible to add PS1 games HD texture packs? Thank you buddy
I'm not really aware of any texture packs for PS1 but I guess people could upscaled pre-rendered backgrounds in games like Final Fantasy. I think the best you can probably do is already in the settings of Duckstation (the PS1 emulator I use) as you can upscale really nicely and remove things like the polygon jitter that was inherent with the ps1 hardware.
@@Alvaro_GG3 I'd have to research if one is better than the other, I just like Duckstation a lot and that's what my frontend will boot my games from. I think Duckstation gives you more options to enhance the games though. Apparently it can use retroachievements if you're into that...I'm looking at a reddit page on best ps1 android emulators and there's a lot of love for Duckstation there.
There isn't a notification unfortunately. I was showing that I was toggling the Software Renderer on and off to show that the textures were also being removed then added again. Sometimes the title screen will actually change too like "HD Edition" or something like that.
You can still just move files from the internal to the Android/Data folders, I tried to explain that in text in my Dolphin video but Dolphin does have an import/export feature and that's what I used so I figured it was worth covering it in the end.
This is NetherSX2, so I had to build it they can't distribute it for legal reasons. If you go to the AetherSX2 discord there's a help page that has pinned info about how to build with an app called Termux. It wasn't complicated and it allowed me to use the most up to date AetherSX2 with no ads, works with launchers and certain games like MGS3 that didn't launch for me now do.
Thx for the texture udate man,an u test Dirge of Cerberus on Nether, max resolution? No one is making a gameplay of the game even though the Odin 2 is so powerful with this chip
I've experienced it in several games and calibrating the sticks didn't help much. You need to go to android settings and scroll to the bottom to Odin settings, then down to Joystick calibration & Gamepad test and then Gamepad Test. Hold your finger on the left or right stick on the screen and choose Adjust joystick sensitivity. I found I needed it to be around 1.40 to work best, but that might be a bit much, your sticks should reach the edges of the circle easier now.
I’ve only had it in Suikoden 3 so far. I think it’s just a known issue with the emulation of the game, as I’ve just found complaints in a forum from 2012 with the same problem 😂
Ok, so after a bit of tinkering…I tried applying the right analogue controls to the left stick, but this resulted in up-left switching to down-right. BUUUUT, applying the D-Pad controls to the left stick works 😁 only problem is, you have to hold the X button to run, otherwise your character will always walk
Ah yeah I really should've tested up until there. So the only fix I found was to set your resolution to 1.75x, that's the highest you can go before that error can be replicated...just something to do with how the game handles resolution. I'm not sure if there's a better fix than that but that's how I solved it before, at least that resolution is still in HD territory.
Not sure if you can help but I can't get the vibration feedback working. I see on my controller settings there is a large and small motor but when I click this it says none is found... Any ideas please
RoeTaKa can you help me? i'm trying to use my hd textures (the same ones i use on my odin 1 pro) on the odin 2, but those are not working, i know where to put them and the options, anyway is not working -.-
thx for the Video but I have a question. When I download EU Game and the Texture is for US, can I change ID to EU-ID? Will this work or do I need the Version with same ID like HD Pack? Thanks alot
When did you order? It wasn't so long ago they fulfilled all the Indiegogo orders, if you check the Odinhandheld reddit and the AYN discord you should find more info about shipments. I think we are still before the date when AYN were supposed to ship Odin 2's and most people expected a delay, so we're very luck to have them as soon as we have.
@@henrytoler5023 It's definitely in the minority for that to happen...just unlucky I guess, more DHL's fault than AYN's. I suppose you have the option for 4px if you don't mind waiting longer. Everything I've ordered from overseas has got to me.
If you use ZArchiver from Google Play then when you go the folder in android/data it'll ask to have permission to access them. I had troubles with the built in file manager not letting me at times so that's why I recommend that.
I got it to work thank you ! But for some reason it doesn't say textures loaded like dolphin. Perhaps I can show that message in settings. On aethersx2 btw

Which model of the Odin do you have? Thank you
you should lower the bass on your mic settings does sound natural
What front end is this? Looks awesome!
It's called Pegasus using the Shinretro theme.
