Nowadays, worldwide, the societies change and young people must have
knowledge, skills and essential competences in different areas for
employment in modern, technological, digital world and taking innovative
initiatives and entrepreneurship in prosperous fields. It is also necessary
for them to have improved responsible stances and behaviors for
societies with social inclusion as well as for a green and sustainable
planet.
The Erasmus+ project, ACE III, "Active Citizenship in Europe”, held
in Athens 26-31/08/2024 as a non-formal and informal youth
exchange, in compliance with the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027 and
inspired by the 11 European Youth Goals, sought to address relevant
issues.
Therefore, a distinctive mix of workshops with attractive discussions,
exchange of challenging ideas, outstanding team working and experiential
interactive outdoor activities and visits gave emphasis on main agents,
such as media, family and school, local government’s deeds, that influence
and potentially effect in how young people decide to form their skills,
behaviors, values and beliefs in order to :
a) protect the environment and fight the climate change, b) make the
difference in local communities by promoting further the diversity and
breaking down discriminations, prejudices and stereotypes, c) understand
better crucial features of the digital age, d) increase their relevant
engagement and social and democratic participation.
