Are you crying?! There's no crying in baseball... this is the exception I was born and raised listening to Vin and now they have many different voices no one will ever top his calls nor the way he tied in a baseball game with what happened in history loved his calls
Just hearing his voice again saying his famous " It's time for Dodgers baseball" gets me to the verge of tears. I am so happy I got to listen to him for so many years.
My grandmother listened to him while watching the dodgers on tv, when we seen the dodgers play live she took her radio with her to listen to Mr. Scully. Enjoy your retirement! Well deserved
For the most part, I'm not very fond of pre-game ceremonies. At my age, I've seen more than enough of them, and I think they're generally a pompous waste of time. But this one, for this legend, this voice from my childhood and across four generations, well, this was a notable, honorable, and welcome exception. I tip my hat to you, Mr. Scully.
"If one picture is worth a thousand words, you have been about a million words. But more than that, you have seen an absolutely bizarre finish to Game 6 of the 1986 World Series."
Raised in L.A. and Vegas, been listening to him since 1969, the best, I have seen many sports players and coaches retire. I will by far miss him the most. Thank you Mr. Scully for the great memories. :)
I grew up loving the the Dodgers Lynch was a great broadcaster I listen to him all the time as many games as I could see just hearing his voice made it all that much better and I love Tommy
from St. Louis to LA. One of my favorite parts of meeting you in the post season was to switch to the away cast and listen to Vin call the games. Reminded me of Buck growing up. There will never be another like him. His magic will be missed everywhere.
Being in Cincinnati Ohio, I never had the pleasure of listening to Vin. But wow! What a treasure. What a great man. I’m so glad I at least get to learn about the greatness that Dodger fans knew of.
the only thing I miss about living in L.A was the true pleasure of hearing Vin call the game. I have heard a lot of the game's best due to traveling and Vin was one if not the greatest I have heard. He will be missed
This man had the gift of making the triumphs of my most hated team, the Los Angeles Dodgers, fill me with joy. There will never be another broadcaster like Vin Scully.
So what’s up with 11 dislikes? Those are 11 seriously sick people. Vin was the best there ever was. Period. I’m a Reds fan but nobody can beat Vin Scully for best broadcaster ever.
Vin was part of my life. Watching the Dodgers growing up in the 80s and 90s. I remember hearing Vin doing the Stater Bros commercials on TV. A voice that is as recognizable as the crack of the ball off a bat.
I listened to Vin from 1966 to 2016... what an honor to be part of all those memories. There will never be another announcer like Vin because there just isn't any way the networks will allow someone that can paint a picture to do their magic any more with TV.
what we need to do is get together and ask him if he will give us his wisdom at least once or twice a month. little piece of his pieces of advice so we can get better and be happier together as he has showed us all our lives
So Classy by Al Michaels a sportscaster that might be one of if not the most versatile of all time! Vin is as Revered by his own brethren as he is all of us fans. I can only hope that Vin finally takes Joe Buck up on that offer and gives us one last inning at a World Series!
I had a lot of personal bullsh*t going on when this event happened (I remember watching this on tv) but. I was 20 years old but once I snapped back into everything I immediately noticed. The 2017 season after this OBVIOUSLY has its own discourse and controversy but Vin’s absence was felt. A living legend
I'm looking at another great novel by the bestselling novelist, a former L.A. Times crime reporter, Michael Connelly. The book's dedication reads..."For Vin Scully, With many thanks"...
I have no emotional attachment towards the Dodgers, but Doyers fans have been treating him like he's Bob Miller (LA Kings) and the late Chick Hearn (LA Lakers).
B4ULoveShine Not *as if* he's them, but as if he's *greater*, because he is. Beyond the sheer talent (which Vin OWNS), Miller started in '73, Hearn '65. Scully? 1950. He called Jackie Robinson and Hank Aaron. Fernando Valenzuela, Orel Hershiser, Kirk Gibson. He spouted 60 year old facts off the top of his head from personal memory and experience. He just received the Presidential Medal of Freedom today. If your post was to hate or troll, sorry boo boo, you still lose. 😉😂
la dodgers and the whole la dodgers is better than whole wwe and better than wwe la dodgers is better forever and ever la dodgers and the whole la dodgers is better forever and ever la dodgers is better thanks thank you from cheyenne thompson 22yrs old uk.

"There's no crying in baseball".
I take that back, crying is the absolute best part of baseball!!!!!!
All the time, buddy. It’s when we all, as Americans, unite and reminisce what was once good, and can be again.

He was really a musician- Listened, timing, perfection, a poet
My parent's weren't even born yet when Vin started his career and I'm almost 40...You're the man, Vin.
