​@@eilishstems6090 There must have been a Dolby Atmos Surround mix release. There being a center channel, you’ll typically find that most of the lead vocal and lead instrumentation is positioned there (more or less exclusively), with only backing vocals and reverb from the lead vocal on the other channels. So if you take out the center channel you usually get a nearly perfect backing track with no dry vocal signal itself. This does not work with stereo mixes because they don’t have a center channel (only left and right), so everything that is meant to appear centered must be present on both channels equally, making stem separation like that very tricky. Usually the only way to achieve the same result then is to use AI based technology, which is however constantly getting better and also more available.
