  • I have a few logs I need to cut up before winter, this one is a white oak and it's 9 foot long just going to make a couple boards and posts out of it, When i was cutting the log the cable snapped that hold it from going up and down but i did fix it running smooth now

Great video 👍 and I like the mill barn doors. I bet that's very relaxing cutting lumber. I need to get a mill some day for some wood milling therapy sounds fun lol. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Mike! I would really like to work a mill and cut all my own boards for building. I have a friend that has a really big mill. I just can't seem to get the time to go spend with him to learn how to use it! lol Looking forward to part 2! Have a great weekend!!

Great! I can see the log might have been sitting on the ground, as there seem to be some small mushrooms growing at the end. That might not be the case. That is what I seem to see. I've had logs like this in the past being milled and found out they will require more attention for drying as the mushrooms spread all over the place, in the sawdust, on the blade, etc. If the boards are not stored properly for perfect drying, then the lumbers can develop mushrooms quite easily on fresh new surfaces, especially for hardwood. To avoid that, I would prepare a solution of bleach/chlorine and spray the 4 faces of each board before stacking for drying. Thanks for sharing Mike!
