    Hdl 6a giving clean and clear high frequency response..

  • @atech9020

    What I noticed is that there was less Q shift from the HDL26. The HDL26 had some extra clarity as well. Likely because they have 3" compression drivers. The change in sound between the two is likely because of the different crossover points and the muted more subtle HF the HDL6 has ( because of the smaller HF driver ). I think the HDL26's are the winner here. To me, they sound correct at distance and with slight less Q shift as you move along and the advantage of being able to control each box at a cellular level is key.

    The HDL 6 seems to have more presense up close but what I can tell (IMO) is that as you backed away further from the line array- the HDL 26 had more energy to carry the sound. Man- the more I listen to these speakers- the more I fall in love with them! The mid-highs and mid range is so buttery sweet sounding. Thank you guys!

    • @jessecoonen7881
      @jessecoonen7881 2 роки тому +1

      I literally thought the opposite. Up close I thought the 26 had marginally better low mid presence and at distance, the HDL6’s seemed more clear in the highs where the 26’s seemed
      Roomy-er. Overall tonality, the 6’s are missing some 600-800hz that the 26’s have. Most likely due to crossover differences and differing HF sections.

    • @AB-80X
      @AB-80X Рік тому +1

      The 26A is vastly superior from a soundstage perspective, IRL that is. The lower crossover point of the 26 makes for a much more focused vocal, especially male vocals that start to seem distant on the 6A when listening off axis. This is not based off of the video, but my personal experience.

    • @sweettreeproductions2149
      @sweettreeproductions2149  Рік тому +1

      The 26’s definitely win when you get out further. The larger high frequency driver and lower crossover point helps a ton.

      Hi, looking here because we are using a p.a. Hire soon that uses the HDL6 boxes, 6 a side. So having used monster systems all our lives we were unsure whether these tiny boxes could do the job. Two kits, two guitars, bass, vocals. Having watched this demo, i feel it lacks bottom end and have no confidence that they could do a live rock band. Are there any other demos available showing a live performances? Are sub boxes available to give it a fully bigger bottom end? Thank you.

    I have been subscribed to you fellas for quite some time...not longer then others but I have logged in enough hours watching your content to feel like it lol. We have a set of 6 QSC KLA-12 cabinets and we use 6 K12s for monitors, front and side fills and A set of Meyer Sound double 18s subs.. I am only wanting to limit this cabinet arrangement to 3 per side due to the cabinet not being able to be angled per each cabinet like I would want. After a years worth or research, I thought about selling off the KLAs and going with an RCF 6, 10, 20, or 26 array cabinet. I have great flexibility with the KLA but I don't have the scalability to add more cabinets for larger scale productions. I'd say 1000 to 1500 with the KLAs. I want to be able to accommodate a bigger crowd but I don't do alot of events like I'd like to and not at the size either. WHEN, I should tho which cabinet would you suggest from having experience with the HDL Series would you suggest as a replacement for my audio inventory please. I respect you guys alot and appreciate all that you have put out enough to inspire me to switch my inventory out should you suggest that I do or dont...lol. thanks for any input...

      They do out of the box. Once you properly use Rdnet on the 26’s they win in every way. If you need a system to sound good very quick with limited control the 6’s are great though.

    do the 6a really goes down to 60 hz? thats extremely bright. I would pro go the 6a route and scratch the VRX. thanks for the video

    • @davidelder1031
      @davidelder1031 2 роки тому +2

      Do it. As someone who used the VRX’s extensively prior to purchasing the HDL6a’s, the 6a’s sound much warmer, are much lighter, easier to rig etc. The 6a’s are also a true lime array cabinet allowing you to rig up to 16 with the heavy duty flybar. Your limit on the VRX would be 3-4 before the angles become too steep given that it’s a constant curvature cabinet.

      In Rdnet unless you are making a positive or negative adjustment using the three filters having them on doesn’t do anything. With them”off” the cabinets are still utilizing them to help the phase.

    Been considering upgrading to the HDL6s from my KLA12. I’m currently running 2 KLA 12s per side stacked on 2 KW181.
    Do you think 2 HDL6s stacked on an 18” RCF Sub would provide the same amount of volume with better clarity as the KLA?

    • @sweettreeproductions2149
      @sweettreeproductions2149  Рік тому +1

      The biggest thing to watch for is the HDL6 are 10 degrees so only 2 boxes wouldn’t be a ton of coverage. 3 per side would be better if possible. The RCF system would have better clarity and volume especially if using 8004 subs.
