I've been struggling for three years too now and I told myself I was quitting last week. But here I am, I guess I can't stop anymore now so I'm here until the end.

Just have to remember: the best and/or every drummer in the world were at your level at one point. Becoming a better drummer has as much to do with mental discipline as it does physical discipline.

@@prod_adrian it's worse when everything else is ready to play those covers except for your damn feet. In my case it's only my right foot that fails. My hands absolutely fly and my left foot can do ankle just fine. Basically I've been fighting against my right ankle for three damn years of my life, and the piece of shit refuses to get unstuck.

@@prod_adrian ironically my right foot can do the super fast twitch motion at like 230bpm, but I can't control it.

@@king-manu2758 thats because your activating the muscle in your foot that allows the rebound of the pedal to carry the twitch motion giving it more power, its what the insane drummers like aaron kitcher and the drummer from Rings of Saturn do to get 270-340 bpm with just single strokes

140 is the toughest tempo for me for sure. It's like pedaling a bike super fast. 150 is the beginning of ankle technique for me, but even then I have beater weights and tall beaters, and still have to remind myself to slow down. 160 I can play all day.

yeah- 160 is such an easy tempo when you got the technique down...

Past injuries. Look back into those if you can't progress. My left arm has always been horribly slow & weak due to a shoulder injury. My right arm went after a neck injury. My feet went from a compressed spine & broken heels. In the late 90s/early 2000s I used to play Hate Eternal speeds but the older I've gotten the worse my drumming has become.

Love your content... I've been watching your vids for YEARS.. we all know that drummers have their favorite part of drumming (whether it's slightly liking something more like cymbals over everything, or snare drums)--- we here I think LOVE DB drumming and are obsessed with pedals :) it's the sound and technique and pedals that drives us crazy (in a good way). Thanks for your no BS and good educational vids for bettering our playing and WHY things matter. I'd love for you to make a vid covering/ reviewing pedals and your experience with them... fun fact there is NO video that describes the YELLOW cam on the Pearl ... just saying ;) You're awesome!

I spent a few months trying to get 160bpm to work out. Now I switched to 215bpm with each foot for 5min (it's sort of my twitching tempo but I have to be active in it) and then at 180 bpm, same exercice but with both feet in the end. I'll see where it takes me. 150bpm seems to be my main tempo for more than a year now, although some days I can't even do 140. I won't give up that's for sure.

I’m so used to using the full leg motion for 140 and lower BPMs that i am seriously struggling to use ankle technique for those tempos. 150 is a nightmare but 160-180 is pretty comfortable 😅

great video, I'm at 140 bpm but I'm taking things easy, I'm focusing on adjustments to my pedal and then seeing why my left foot is faster than the right if it's not my main leg, greetings and thanks for sharing 😎🔥
