Just so you know they confirmed that you can use a pro controller! The only thing is if you use a pro controller you cant do the motion control minigames!
I'm assuming they'll have a few games that take advantage of joy con specific features like HD rumble and IR camera like the first Super did. They probably blanket disable all motion controls in case people are using USB controllers (GC PowerA etc) with no gyro tho
I think the reason why they called the game super again is just that’s how Nintendo brands the fully new Mario party from now on. I remember when the first super Mario party was announced. Nintendo said they called it that because they wanted to change the way they titled the Mario party series. so basically I wouldn’t look too deep into it regarding the naming of the game. Also it has been confirmed through the European website that motion control mini games are basically optional where they’re unavailable online and even off-line you can use pro controllers with no motion mini games!
That’s a relief. I guess the weird thing is if they wanted to title the Mario party series differently why not also change superstars? I guess because it is a remake and doesn’t really count?
I grew up playing Mario party 9 on the Wii, so it’s one of my favorites. It may not have had the best party mode, but the mini games were good. And don’t forget the bangers of music that came with it.
I’m 24, and I also like too much the Mario Party 9, I grew up playing it too, I love the mini games using the control gyroscope o the motion, so I love that this new Mario party includes them
For your wish of the orb system, in the part of the trailer showing the roll em, waluigi is holding an item reminiscent of the hexes from mario party ds, which are similar to orbs, its a circular purple thing with what seems to be a minus 20 or 10 coins, which may mean well get something like hexes as items again

5:28 it's confirmed that you only need a Joy-Con in Motion Minigames, which is already a big step up from Super Mario party. Motion minigames won't appear online or if you play with a Pro-Controller or a Nintendo Switch Lite
I'm a lover of Mario Party, and I may be overhyped, but I think Jamboree could be one of the best MP games yet! I mean, the toads are back, we can switch their colors, 7 boards, and the minigames look exciting! I'll have to wait for future news to see if it's actually good, but as of now, I can't simply wait! And hey, it's a couple of days earlier than Mario Wonder (1st anniversary coming soon!).
@hazzabazza24 yup! If you look when they players are riding to the island docks and the beginning of Roll'em Raceway, you can see different colored Shy Guys and Toads! They may be just NPCs introducing the modes/boards, but their color coordinated vehicles say otherwise. If that's the case, will we see color Coded Toadettes too!?
@@magicvalgirl I can say with 99% certainty that there won’t be coloured variants of toads and other characters. They’re definitely NPCs introducing the mode. Why else would they all be moving at once without a dice number above their heads? Different coloured Toads are also already in the game as NPCs including one that gives you a star, so allowing the main toad to look just like them would kinda take away his individuality as a playable character and also be somewhat confusing.
Step in the right direction is a really bad argument if you dissect it at its core, you are basically looking at a game compared to another game instead of actually looking at the game itself, ignoring all of the things that said game does better than previous titles instead focusing on nitpicking the things that could be improved to be just as good as them. Take origami king for example, people exclusively look at the lack of a reward for battling and bad character designs and call it a bad game, while completely ignoring the worlds, writing, music, and action adventure game aspects (which is the entire reason super is so loved in the first place) instead dissmissing the entire experience simply because it is not what they wanted from it.
Totally agree. The same happens with SMP. They all complain about the restriction to Joycons and only 4 boards (with it actually being 8 boards, due to Partner-Party's boards being different to their normal Party counterpart) being available, but they don't name the cool new concepts like: -characterspecific dices -partners -new modes: Partner-Party, Sound Stage, Rafting and Challenge Road -tons of fun minigames, from pretty easy ones to quite challenging ones -the great music and look of the game

THATS PERFECT. That’s the game mode I was most interested in, and I don’t need to be able to play all of the mini games when playing casually at a party.
They should make us choose how much a star costs! In the past 2 games you always had enough coins for a star because they threw money at you all the time. Also bowser was way too nice, you should be able to choose how harsh the bad fields punish you.

1:00 I believe the plain space density in this game was an even bigger problem actually. You know Mario Party DS came out after 8 right? In the same year right? With a huge focus on the Single Player Story Mode over the Party mode. I'd say that's the Super Paper Mario of the series. 1:31 That's just objectively false. Mario Party 9 gives you special dice blocks the more blue spaces you land on and you control how to use them. You can use them to get certain spaces, bonuses for yourself or screwing over the players in front of you. Not to mention Captain Events and also Magma Mine being one of the best boards in the series and using 9's Car Mechanics to their full potential. While it is true that the strategy is minimized in 9, saying it has no strategy at all is just plain false. 1:49 Yeah, you definitely have not played Mario Party 9 and just got your opinion from another youtuber. When you land on Blue Spaces, the most common space in 9, the game is likely give you Minigames especially if you haven't been playing them a lot. Minigames appear WAY more than you think they would and since there's no star system I think MP9 is more of a Skill based game than a Luck or Strategy based game (although doing something big for either of those two can still turn the game around) 2:20 While I can say the formula of having 4 players move seperately is better, I can not say that my experience with SMP is better than 9 or 10 simply due to the fact that it punishes players for being good at the game so that little timmy has a chance of winning (this is probably at it's most present in 10 Turn games though. I haven't gotten to play anything more than that yet). Ally System is a fantastic concept imo but the execution is a bit poopy especially when you get too many. Minigames are still a step down from 9's and the Solo Mode in this game is just as lazy as The Top 100 if not more so.
I definitely have played a lot of Mario Party 9 lol. Yes, you can get minigames from the dice spaces sometimes, but that doesn't change the fact that you still don't play them as often. I definitely disagree that the game is mostly skill based for a few reasons: 1. at the end of every board there are tons of events that can randomly take away half of your mini stars right before the end, and 2. the end is also showered with bowser spaces that can just force last minute revolutions, losing half mini stars, etc. You could win every minigame throughout the whole thing and just lose it all in the final turns before you have a chance to earn it back. Magma Mine is definitely the best board of the car era but I definitely would not go as far to say one of the best in the series. The strategy in 9 is still entirely limited to what your opponent's roll before you. Sure, you can choose to roll 4-6 or 1-3, if you happen to get those dice blocks, to secure ministars or avoid ztars. But you have to be fortunate enough to be put in the scenario where that works in the first place.
Tbf Mario Party Superstars was already a great first step in the good direction. Only 5 boards hurted it a bit, but back to the classic gameplay made it a really fun game imo. Can't wait for Jamboree.
Combining the best parts of Super Mario Party and Superstars to be the definitive mario party experience???? I feel like this would work extremely well for the next paper mario too
I think it's a combination of Super Mario Party and Mario Party Superstars again. Just like what happened with SMBW which was a combination of NSMBUDX and SMR.
Interesting! It kind of looks like a landmine to me or something. Would be fun if there were multiple types for coin stealing, stopping people, taking items, etc. But I guess we'll have to wait and see until they drop more info
Im not sure but my gut feeling is that they support this post launch. No way they don’t drop dlc this time around. It looks like they’re actually happy with their product looks really polished
On other side love color splash and gamecube ones. Never try Wii one much because never knew there was Wii ones. But now I know my next buys of games. And my hope allies mode plz.
I was so sure we were gonna get another Superstars with the same re-hash of past boards and mini-games or another Super with the stuff that I hated from the 1st one. Even though we got another Super, I was pleasantly surprised by all the amount of content we have this time around. More than 6 boards, 110 mini-games, huge character roster, and extra modes that seem decent?? I learned to keep expectations low, so I would be surprised like this!!
The main thing stopping me from expecting another superstars was what they would do for mini games. If they wanted to only remake old stuff again they would run out of good/iconic mini games not already in superstars pretty quickly.
I kind of really liked super mario party and I'm kind of sad to see that it wasn't spun off into its own mario party series. I love the friend system and each charachter having a different die. I just wish there were more boards and a better overall game feel. But this one looks like its super in name only and that the concepts from super mario party are dead :(
Totally agree. Hopefully we get friends and special dices again, just that they aren't shown in the trailer. And fingers crossed for a challenge road. I loved that mode in SMP. And Partner-Party too. It was so much more fun than normal party mode. We will get different modes at least, so we might be lucky to get more things from SMP. What people didn't like was the few boards (now fixed) and the forced playing on Joycons (now optional).
8 seemed a lot closer to 1-7 than super paper mario was to the first three Mario rpgs. The only thing really different about 8 was motion controls right?
I didn’t super elaborate on this but I do think it changes a lot more than just motions controls. Big thing was the item system: 2-4 had more classic items, 5-7 had the orbs with a big emphasis on board traps, 8 changes the system by making items almost entirely based on board position. Most items only work if you pass the player in front of you, kind of like the chain chomp maps from 6/7. I would also say overall map design is pretty different, most of the maps in this game are a lot simpler and lack a lot of forks and decision making (Goomba, Shy Guy, Boo to an extent, Bowser). And then while motion controls might not seem like they change too much, they do add entirely new genres of mini games like pointer precision stuff and steering, while also changing the entire game feel with menuing and such.
Mario Party 9 is my favorite Mario Party and will always be. It may have flaws and changed multiple aspects of the game compared to older versions, but its music, mini games, boards, bosses, customization, and space theme is just absolutely amazing. It feels so polished and personal, not rushed like a bunch of other Mario Party games. I love Mario Party 9!
A fatal flaw people neglect with superstars is that half the items of the original trilogy were removed or locked out of the shop. Boo bell, plunder chest, item bag, bowser suit, boo repellant, cellular shopper, and bowser phone were all removed or locked from the shop making an incredibly boring gameplay experience. It also doesnt help that shops are the same regardless of placement so 1st can further their lead more with golden pipes
I loved Mario PArty 8 soooo much! My absolute favorite! Loved the Boards, especially loved the train and the Koopa city where you could get hotels! I loved the Items, that those were candys and literally transformed the character in something so crazy and weird! I think i need to play it again haha!
A lot of people think ND cube learned their lesson with superstars but I’m not so sure. Firstly, while superstars was def the best game they’ve made, there were still a lot of dumb decisions like not being able to turn off hidden blocks, 2nd and 3rd get coins after a minigame, only being able to do 30 turns, insane amounts of lucky spaces, 10 coin minigames (the last two leading to a bloated coin economy). This new game definitely looks a lot better than anything original they’ve made but there’s still issues I have with it. This game still having a lot of side modes that no one will play more than twice really sucks as it just takes development time away from the main game experience. The sheer amount of lucky spaces these boards have is very concerning to me, as it makes me think this games economy will be bad too. Why even have motion control games if you can’t play em online? Hopefully there isn’t more than 10 cuz it’d suck for a good chunk of minigames to not be playable online. All in all I think they still have a ways to til they’re HudsonSoft quality

As someone who grew up on the gamecube era of mario party (4-7), I completely dropped the franchise after playing around with 8 for a while and growing bored with my wii in general. I did keep up for a little while after that, but the format change made me lose interest entirely. Good to see they're going back to what made the franchise great.
Mario Party 9 and 10 were great, 10 is my second favorite after 2 and I grew up playing all of them. I don't understand the hate they get. Bowser Party is so intuitive and such a blast with 5 people.
One problem with every Mario Party since 9 is that all the minigames are unlocked from the start, I think it’s more fun unlocking them by playing on the boards, also there’s no save file feature in most newer games, which is weird
I think I definitely prefer having everything unlocked from the start, It could be pretty annoying trying to unlock those last few minigames in the older ones
I just want a mario party in the same vein of super smash bros. With a large roster of Nintendo, even non Nintendo, characters. Can even have themed boards and mini games. I'd even pay for them as dlc! They'd make a killing too. Anything to play as kirby 😭❤️
I agree with you on the whole, but I think it's absolute nonsense to predetermine the bonus stars you get at the end. It's like giving certain players stars right at the start of the game for nothing. Bonus stars should be what they're meant to be - a surprise
The older games had pre determined bonus stars (1-5: minigame, coin, green. 6: minigame, orb, green) and it works fine. I like having random pools of bonus stars, but also a lot of them sort of feed into each other and make it easy to cover a lot (minigame + rich + shopping + item + running) I also just think people should have more options to customize if they would find it more fun.
I think that the new race car map will be the closest kind of thing we get to that again, it’s simple and doesn’t require too much character specific work. Especially with a roster this big I don’t think they want to make all those unique costumes.
May the Mario Party gods prevent Jamboree from being so similar to Super in how you have to keep on waiting for your little sister to do the stupid fucking “Ready… Yeah!” thing right
I hope this game is good because Mario Party Superstars didn’t appealed to me since I really don’t like remakes since I find them lazy and uncreative but Mario Party Jamboree might look like to be a good Mario Party and was probably my favorite highlight of the Director right behind Zelda: Echos of Wisdom and Metroid Prime 4.
This game is super Mario party 2 with two boards from Mario party superstars 2. They make a fusion game, that is a super mario spin off and will see a Super Mario party 2 in the future or they go to make two party games from now on. Mario party with old boards and super Mario party with new boards.
ok hear me out, there should be away to make some of the games that use motion control into ones that can work using a pro controller like the one with mario pushing a stack of blocks with a yoshi on it
@@biggarffan37 You're right, I didn't watch this video yesterday. I saw the thumbnail and was pretty upset thinking you thought MP8 was the death of Mario Party as a whole. It was very childish of immature of me to assume your opinion and I do apologize. So now that I did watch it, the game does look amazing. I used to play Mario Party a lot since I played 5, and LOVE MP7 and 8 (that much is clear, lol). The series has been under my radar since MP9, which I like and played a lot since I love the boss battle mini games. Didn't have a Wii U for 10, I asked for Super Mario Party for Christmas one year, I agree that the boards were few and tiny and the friendship concept was a turn off, so I returned that game to GameStop. Also didn't care for Mario Party Superstars for it reusing stages from previous titles and agreeing with the... lackluster roster, especially coming after the giant one we got from SMP.
Golden pipes are not fun 😕. They need to nerf them. They need to be triple the cost of a star and drop you not by the star but near it. Imagine if you saved up for a golden pipe but someone else used an item to move the star somewhere else before you got the chance to buy it. Idk if that sounds stupid but it'll add some strategy rather than just only buying pipes as the goal knowing you'll get the star by using it. What about a reverse pipe item you can use to send a player to the last space they were from the previous turn? Idk we need more carnage and screwing people over type of stuff. Thats what makes Mario Party fun lol
1. Stars only change positions, if collected (at least in SMP) 2. Golden Pipes and other items are used before the dice roll, so if you don'tuse a dice that could give you coins instead of moving or a 0, then you 100% get the star.
People didn't paid attention, Mario Party is back since 2 years ago, Mario Party Superstar was already perfect in every way except for a little lack of content.

Hudson soft couldn’t add DLC to their older games, and their older games had consistently more boards in base game than the NDCube ones. Jamboree will be the first time NDCube has made more than the average of 6, so DLC is not NEEDED for this one but Mario party is pretty much the only Nintendo multiplayer game that doesn’t do this at this point, and it’s an easy way to maintain long term interest in this game.
Only 20-25 of the 83 minigames in Super are motion controll (and at least 3 of those are only "motion controll" because of the rumbling part of the mini game). And most of those motion controll games would either be too easy without it (Fuzzy Flight School) or impossible (the whole sound stage, Triking Harder, Sizzling Stakes, Look Sharp, Candy Shakedown (no idea how you would do that minigame with only buttons,...)
depends on what you mean by "saved", it sold really absurdly well but i don't really think that was on the merits of how good it was and more that it was a mario spinoff party game on the most successful nintendo home console at the right time. Like I think they could've released any Mario Party game at that time and the franchise would have been "saved". Gameplay wise it is really shallow and bland beyond first impressions imo
@@biggarffan37 well what I meant was they went back to their old way of doing things, the boards in Mario party 9 and 10 and star rush and some of the other games were pretty linear, super Mario party did fix this problem but the boards were just a square, now I understand why ndcube did this since they wanted to make this game like a reboot to Mario party, and since that reboot went fabulous super Mario party was able to up the ante
I said it was a "step in the right" direction game in the video, so i don't really think we disagree. But I think the game still getting so many other things wrong isn't really worth praising overall.
I have not play Star Rush (or any of the 3DS ones) but I did think Partner Party was the better way to play Super bc base party mode was bland (still wouldn’t pick it over any games 2-8). I think allies were just really unbalanced so I didn’t like them much at all.

Wait so no is required to use the single Joycons like the prequel? We can also use two Joycons on the grip or a pro controller? This is great news
Kinda weird since Splatoon 2 & 3, & Kirby Tilt n’ Tumble on NSO show that the Switch Pro Controller supports motion controls.

1:31 That's just objectively false. Mario Party 9 gives you special dice blocks the more blue spaces you land on and you control how to use them. You can use them to get certain spaces, bonuses for yourself or screwing over the players in front of you. Not to mention Captain Events and also Magma Mine being one of the best boards in the series and using 9's Car Mechanics to their full potential. While it is true that the strategy is minimized in 9, saying it has no strategy at all is just plain false.
1:49 Yeah, you definitely have not played Mario Party 9 and just got your opinion from another youtuber. When you land on Blue Spaces, the most common space in 9, the game is likely give you Minigames especially if you haven't been playing them a lot. Minigames appear WAY more than you think they would and since there's no star system I think MP9 is more of a Skill based game than a Luck or Strategy based game (although doing something big for either of those two can still turn the game around)
2:20 While I can say the formula of having 4 players move seperately is better, I can not say that my experience with SMP is better than 9 or 10 simply due to the fact that it punishes players for being good at the game so that little timmy has a chance of winning (this is probably at it's most present in 10 Turn games though. I haven't gotten to play anything more than that yet). Ally System is a fantastic concept imo but the execution is a bit poopy especially when you get too many. Minigames are still a step down from 9's and the Solo Mode in this game is just as lazy as The Top 100 if not more so.
I definitely have played a lot of Mario Party 9 lol. Yes, you can get minigames from the dice spaces sometimes, but that doesn't change the fact that you still don't play them as often. I definitely disagree that the game is mostly skill based for a few reasons: 1. at the end of every board there are tons of events that can randomly take away half of your mini stars right before the end, and 2. the end is also showered with bowser spaces that can just force last minute revolutions, losing half mini stars, etc. You could win every minigame throughout the whole thing and just lose it all in the final turns before you have a chance to earn it back. Magma Mine is definitely the best board of the car era but I definitely would not go as far to say one of the best in the series. The strategy in 9 is still entirely limited to what your opponent's roll before you. Sure, you can choose to roll 4-6 or 1-3, if you happen to get those dice blocks, to secure ministars or avoid ztars. But you have to be fortunate enough to be put in the scenario where that works in the first place.

I was so sure we were gonna get another Superstars with the same re-hash of past boards and mini-games or another Super with the stuff that I hated from the 1st one. Even though we got another Super, I was pleasantly surprised by all the amount of content we have this time around. More than 6 boards, 110 mini-games, huge character roster, and extra modes that seem decent?? I learned to keep expectations low, so I would be surprised like this!!
The main thing stopping me from expecting another superstars was what they would do for mini games. If they wanted to only remake old stuff again they would run out of good/iconic mini games not already in superstars pretty quickly.
The devs have confirmed on a website somewhere that if you have a pro controller, there won’t be motion minigames, so you will be able to use one

I kind of really liked super mario party and I'm kind of sad to see that it wasn't spun off into its own mario party series. I love the friend system and each charachter having a different die. I just wish there were more boards and a better overall game feel. But this one looks like its super in name only and that the concepts from super mario party are dead :(

What people didn't like was the few boards (now fixed) and the forced playing on Joycons (now optional).
8 seemed a lot closer to 1-7 than super paper mario was to the first three Mario rpgs. The only thing really different about 8 was motion controls right?
I didn’t super elaborate on this but I do think it changes a lot more than just motions controls. Big thing was the item system: 2-4 had more classic items, 5-7 had the orbs with a big emphasis on board traps, 8 changes the system by making items almost entirely based on board position. Most items only work if you pass the player in front of you, kind of like the chain chomp maps from 6/7. I would also say overall map design is pretty different, most of the maps in this game are a lot simpler and lack a lot of forks and decision making (Goomba, Shy Guy, Boo to an extent, Bowser). And then while motion controls might not seem like they change too much, they do add entirely new genres of mini games like pointer precision stuff and steering, while also changing the entire game feel with menuing and such.

Mario Party 9 is my favorite Mario Party and will always be. It may have flaws and changed multiple aspects of the game compared to older versions, but its music, mini games, boards, bosses, customization, and space theme is just absolutely amazing. It feels so polished and personal, not rushed like a bunch of other Mario Party games. I love Mario Party 9!
A fatal flaw people neglect with superstars is that half the items of the original trilogy were removed or locked out of the shop. Boo bell, plunder chest, item bag, bowser suit, boo repellant, cellular shopper, and bowser phone were all removed or locked from the shop making an incredibly boring gameplay experience.
It also doesnt help that shops are the same regardless of placement so 1st can further their lead more with golden pipes
I loved Mario PArty 8 soooo much! My absolute favorite! Loved the Boards, especially loved the train and the Koopa city where you could get hotels! I loved the Items, that those were candys and literally transformed the character in something so crazy and weird! I think i need to play it again haha!
A lot of people think ND cube learned their lesson with superstars but I’m not so sure. Firstly, while superstars was def the best game they’ve made, there were still a lot of dumb decisions like not being able to turn off hidden blocks, 2nd and 3rd get coins after a minigame, only being able to do 30 turns, insane amounts of lucky spaces, 10 coin minigames (the last two leading to a bloated coin economy). This new game definitely looks a lot better than anything original they’ve made but there’s still issues I have with it. This game still having a lot of side modes that no one will play more than twice really sucks as it just takes development time away from the main game experience. The sheer amount of lucky spaces these boards have is very concerning to me, as it makes me think this games economy will be bad too. Why even have motion control games if you can’t play em online? Hopefully there isn’t more than 10 cuz it’d suck for a good chunk of minigames to not be playable online. All in all I think they still have a ways to til they’re HudsonSoft quality

As someone who grew up on the gamecube era of mario party (4-7), I completely dropped the franchise after playing around with 8 for a while and growing bored with my wii in general. I did keep up for a little while after that, but the format change made me lose interest entirely. Good to see they're going back to what made the franchise great.
Marioparty 4 let you make a custom minigame pack for party mode, so its not out of the question to have one in jamboree
I want more maps, more playable characters, perhaps a new mini game category based on previous games' mini games.
Mario Party 9 and 10 were great, 10 is my second favorite after 2 and I grew up playing all of them. I don't understand the hate they get. Bowser Party is so intuitive and such a blast with 5 people.
One problem with every Mario Party since 9 is that all the minigames are unlocked from the start, I think it’s more fun unlocking them by playing on the boards, also there’s no save file feature in most newer games, which is weird
I think I definitely prefer having everything unlocked from the start, It could be pretty annoying trying to unlock those last few minigames in the older ones

I agree with you on the whole, but I think it's absolute nonsense to predetermine the bonus stars you get at the end. It's like giving certain players stars right at the start of the game for nothing. Bonus stars should be what they're meant to be - a surprise
The older games had pre determined bonus stars (1-5: minigame, coin, green. 6: minigame, orb, green) and it works fine. I like having random pools of bonus stars, but also a lot of them sort of feed into each other and make it easy to cover a lot (minigame + rich + shopping + item + running) I also just think people should have more options to customize if they would find it more fun.
I want map thematic costumes for characters like in Mario Party 2... and I want Pirate Land back.
I think that the new race car map will be the closest kind of thing we get to that again, it’s simple and doesn’t require too much character specific work. Especially with a roster this big I don’t think they want to make all those unique costumes.

I hope this game is good because Mario Party Superstars didn’t appealed to me since I really don’t like remakes since I find them lazy and uncreative but Mario Party Jamboree might look like to be a good Mario Party and was probably my favorite highlight of the Director right behind Zelda: Echos of Wisdom and Metroid Prime 4.
This game is super Mario party 2 with two boards from Mario party superstars 2. They make a fusion game, that is a super mario spin off and will see a Super Mario party 2 in the future or they go to make two party games from now on. Mario party with old boards and super Mario party with new boards.

So now that I did watch it, the game does look amazing. I used to play Mario Party a lot since I played 5, and LOVE MP7 and 8 (that much is clear, lol). The series has been under my radar since MP9, which I like and played a lot since I love the boss battle mini games. Didn't have a Wii U for 10, I asked for Super Mario Party for Christmas one year, I agree that the boards were few and tiny and the friendship concept was a turn off, so I returned that game to GameStop. Also didn't care for Mario Party Superstars for it reusing stages from previous titles and agreeing with the... lackluster roster, especially coming after the giant one we got from SMP.

Golden pipes are not fun 😕. They need to nerf them. They need to be triple the cost of a star and drop you not by the star but near it. Imagine if you saved up for a golden pipe but someone else used an item to move the star somewhere else before you got the chance to buy it. Idk if that sounds stupid but it'll add some strategy rather than just only buying pipes as the goal knowing you'll get the star by using it.
What about a reverse pipe item you can use to send a player to the last space they were from the previous turn? Idk we need more carnage and screwing people over type of stuff. Thats what makes Mario Party fun lol
1. Stars only change positions, if collected (at least in SMP)
2. Golden Pipes and other items are used before the dice roll, so if you don'tuse a dice that could give you coins instead of moving or a 0, then you 100% get the star.

Hudson soft couldn’t add DLC to their older games, and their older games had consistently more boards in base game than the NDCube ones. Jamboree will be the first time NDCube has made more than the average of 6, so DLC is not NEEDED for this one but Mario party is pretty much the only Nintendo multiplayer game that doesn’t do this at this point, and it’s an easy way to maintain long term interest in this game.

Only 20-25 of the 83 minigames in Super are motion controll (and at least 3 of those are only "motion controll" because of the rumbling part of the mini game). And most of those motion controll games would either be too easy without it (Fuzzy Flight School) or impossible (the whole sound stage, Triking Harder, Sizzling Stakes, Look Sharp, Candy Shakedown (no idea how you would do that minigame with only buttons,...)

depends on what you mean by "saved", it sold really absurdly well but i don't really think that was on the merits of how good it was and more that it was a mario spinoff party game on the most successful nintendo home console at the right time. Like I think they could've released any Mario Party game at that time and the franchise would have been "saved". Gameplay wise it is really shallow and bland beyond first impressions imo
@@biggarffan37 well what I meant was they went back to their old way of doing things, the boards in Mario party 9 and 10 and star rush and some of the other games were pretty linear, super Mario party did fix this problem but the boards were just a square, now I understand why ndcube did this since they wanted to make this game like a reboot to Mario party, and since that reboot went fabulous super Mario party was able to up the ante
I said it was a "step in the right" direction game in the video, so i don't really think we disagree. But I think the game still getting so many other things wrong isn't really worth praising overall.

I have not play Star Rush (or any of the 3DS ones) but I did think Partner Party was the better way to play Super bc base party mode was bland (still wouldn’t pick it over any games 2-8). I think allies were just really unbalanced so I didn’t like them much at all.
