- Changing engine oil and oil filter..
1, warm up the engine by riding the bike for about 5-6 kms.
2, Remove the filter plug so as to allow the air to flow freely during removal off engine oil.
3, Remove the 2 bolts using 8mm socket.
4, Remove the cover and the mesh. Clean them properly as their will be small metal particles attached to the magnet in the cover.
5, Drain the engine oil into the basin and tilt the bike left and right to remove the remaining oil.
6, Assemble them back the same way we removed them. Care should be given not over tighten the bolts.
7, Remove the 19 mm bolt using the 19 mm socket.
8, similarly, drain the engine oil into the basin and tilt the bike left and right the remove the remaining oil.
9, Assemble them back the same way we removed them. Care should be given not over tighten the bolts.
10, Remove the 12 mm bolt using the 12 mm socket.
11, similarly, drain the engine oil into the basin and til the bike left and right to remove the remaining oil.
12, Assemble them back the same way we removed them. Care should be given not to over tighten the bolts.
13, Now remove the 3 bolts using the 8mm socket. Care should be taken as the oil filter assembled along with a spring as shown in the video.
14, Using a cloth to clean the oil inside the oil filter bay to remove the old oil.
15, Clean the O-ring, spring and the cover. Soak the new oil filter in the fresh engine oil before assembling. Assemble all the components along with the new oil filter as we have removed.
16, Now by using the funnel fill the engine oil.
17, Start the engine and let it idle run for few seconds.
18, Switch off the engine and let the engine oil rest for 5 mins. Now look at the engine oil level witch should we at the maximum limit.
Tools= 8 mm socket,12 mm socket,19 mm socket,funnel,basin for collecting the old oil,
Accessories required.
Liquid gun 15w50 grade.
In owners manual says:-
Place motorcycle on its center stand on a firm flat
surface.
Start engine and warm up for 2 minutes.
Keep a clean tray below the engine
Remove primary drain cap, to drain oil & clean
suction filter, magnet.
Then remove secondary drain plug to drain oil &
clean the magnet.
Finally remove primary drain bolt to drain the complete oil.
Here the manual says that first remove the primary drain cap, to drain oil ?
