"I'll talk at you later!"
Your honesty, that's what I appreciates about ya.
Good morning Pa, great video on the hoe question. I liked the answers you gave and see why I disliked using a hoe so much. I think I would have liked them better had I been taught to stand up straight instead of hunkered over and the back was hurting before the work was done. Thanks so much for doing these videos how you present them and what you do share. You make farming and gardening fun and the food is so much tastier when you work the ground and watch it grow. Stay safe and keep up the great videos and the fun you have around the farm. Fred.
Pa I have lots of hoes now. I invested in ine that's more triangular that's great for making furrows and a heavy one that will cut through sod, vines and tree roots better than a shovel! If we ever have an empty, that shuts down electronics, tractors, etc., the humble hoe will be invaluable!
Super Cool
Thanks 😎
I have a handlee that goes on the shaft of hoe and it is a great aid to fight fatigue.
I also have a added handle on my hard rake.
Thanks 😎
Thats a loaded question!!
I still have a hoe I used as a kid. It has a one piece blade with a 3 ¼" flat blade on one end and two pronged fork on the other. Total blade length is 8 ¾". The handle is shorter than on most garden tools. Everyone in the family had their favorite hoe. The pointed hoes are useful too.
Hello, I appreciate your show
Thanks for your response! It answers my questions!
Thank you for making these!
Good morning my kind Sir.
I'm gonna say the push hoe. A wheeled one to be exact. Need one with a root cutter blade and one with a hiller blade shaped like a moldboard plow. You can cut weeds and you can hill up without the repetitive back and forth with your arms. Just lock elbows at your sides and walk. Even if you use push pull with your arms it's a lot less movements than with a regular hoe.
Ive found there's an ideal time to use the wheel hoe, just after the first weeds have emerged when the soil has just started to form a thin crust. Though its about the same for any hoe. But the push hoe will also do stuff easier that will wear your arms out chopping with the handheld hoe.
I'm 27 and ideally I'd never use a regular hoe again. 😂 If i wear out a garden hoe i hope it will be from rust.
I know I will have to use them sometimes but I'll always be looking for ways to avoid it.
One day ill probably get too sore and old to push a push hoe but till then I'm gonna keep trying to wear them out instead.
"You can't have too many hoes".
🤔
Wheel hoes are great too. Not fake hoes, wheel ones. 😏
Good video, I like using all different kinds of them depending what I’m doing. I use a push plow for a lot of my weeding and hilling
Ah yes...push plows. Savin' those for a special FavoriteTool show. Thanks for watchin', FlutyLickHomestead!
