Yes, the acting isn't AMAZING, but the woman ( Gina Carano ) isn't an actress, she's a real fighter, and she did all of the fight scenes for real, the fighting is good, just not great on the acting.
Neither was Arnold, Sly, and others. But with Cameron Arnold got believable in True Lies, Sly got good in Copland, and So Will She. Just need a chance.

This movie was definitely reminiscent of the original Bourne movies however, the well choreographed fight scenes and the way the story is told was enough to keep me interested. The acting was pretty good and the whole her father knows everything about her life was pretty cool.
Wow, haven't seen trailers with this classic type of voice-over for long. It ads a classic feeling to simple action... It is, however, also quite dificult for me to take these voice-overs serious anymore :)

They wanted to see how much realistic fighting as well as the star power of the supporting cast affected boxoffice return if the lead character was played by a complete amatuer actor. The director and producers felt Carano's performance was so bad, they dubbed over her voice for most of the film. Many films that have been made in the past 10 years have shown that merely the actors acting ability and name doesn't have nearly as much pull as it did 25+ years ago. Same experiment was done with the movie Act of Valor where they used real navy seals as the main cast minus the starpower of the supporting cast. Both films came out 1 month from each other.

For all you idiots that have not done your homework. Gina Carano was a Strikeforce MMA fighter, which is owned by Zuffa( UFC). Recent interviews with Soderbergh actually confirms that he wanted the film to have a 60's and 70's spy thriller feel, thus the fight sequences without a music soundtrack and the trailer with an narrator,not an announcer. This film looks very promising, and could launch Carano into a full fledged action star.

Yes, he did studied ballet, but only for five years, starting at the age of 16. So he's not a dancer, he's a fighter... STILL A PROFESSIONAL FIGHTER!!
Saw the movie yesterday. The movie itself wasn't that great but you have to see it just for the fight seens. Not only did Gina Carano come off as pretty, sexy and surprisingly a good actress but her fight scenes totally kick ass. I believe she is the new "Femme Fatale". Basically it's a movie to introduce Gina Carano, as a leading character, which in my opinion did a good job, though the movie in general didn't bring anything to my movie watching experience, just boring, except on the fighting scenes. You got this great cast and the camera couldn't stay off Gina, why?! Bad move if you're pitching her for a Wonder Woman role (there are WW references in the movie btw). Specially when you throw anti-climatic dialoguing and out of place soundtracks.

For a 2011 movie it s decent. Had a little struggling with her acting, she overdid many scenes and kinda amused me actually how bad it was but i never knew she wasnt an actual actor but a fighter so we can give her a pass. Honestly the other names caught my attention, Banderas, Michael Douglas, Fassbender (before he was an assassin, yet still an assassin) and of course Obi Wan Kenobi. The plot is good, not great but decent. It almost looks like a small independent film project of someone, i really wonder how they got all the great names to star in it centered around an unknown lead female character. I did like the serious tone of the movie and that it doesnt make a mockery of itself. I'd give it a 6.5/7 stars. If you ve already seen Bourne and John Wick, this movie is very hard to digest in 2024 but for 2011 it did the job.

My opinion of the movie: The heroine has real charisma (even though Gina Carano is a wrestler she can actually act), the cast is good (Fassbender and McGregor), the fight scenes are really well-choreographed. That said, there seems to be a lot of filler in between the great moments and the story is rather standard - they organise an operation, it goes wrong, they've been set up and now she has to find the traitor. Not great, but worth a look. How's that?

It's her first movie, so lowering the bar, yes, she did a great job. Since then her acting has improved

yeah Disney have been 1st class a-holes since 2015 when the new Star Wars movie came out and it's been down hill all the way since then.
