- Taken in the Swale off the Isle of Sheppy. There were 24 Seals counted on shore at the maximum. Boat traffic did not seem to alarm them unless closer than about 60ft. We were in a rib and the engine did not make much difference to the seals.
Charter boats would not apparently affect these colony's but obviously I would hope that their peace and quiet was not spoiled by too many boats coming out to view and they will hopefully all keep a respectable distance particularly during busier periods in the summer.
Sea fishing charters may not do so well around here as apparently the seals eat about a third of their body weight every day!

I live in Sheerness, where would be a good place to spot seal's?. I don't mind seeing them from a distance.
