    omg i adore her. Every time i talk with my friends about models. I always say Natalia Vodianova is the one and only. Forget Heide Gisele Adriana Lime bla bla Natalia is the most natural model. I wish i could have these eyes and eyebrows. I dislike all girls ladies with these line eyebrows. wtf is that? Look at Natalia she is the tiger she rocks .LUV YOU

    Because in old Russian the word "Krasny, or krasna" meant both the color "red" and the word "beautiful". Now, the word for beautiful is "krasivy", changes according to gender, and the word for red remains "krasny". КРАСНАЯ ПЛОЩАДЬ. Red Square. - posted by Russian.

    '... and you have to become this superb woman ...'
    She just described the drive behind the whole fashion industry right there, didn't she?

    @Gwert22 Natalia and Natasha - it's the same form of one name. like Sam and Samantha. its Natasha and Natalia. like Sasha and Alexander - it's all the same.

    @surita88
    Well, you know, it really makes sense - in russian "red" and "beautiful" are very similar words, with the same root, sound almost the same. Red was synonym of beauty long time ago...So when she said it, she wasn't silly or illogical, she was just translating it, very literally, from russian to english...

  • @DinaMusina
    @DinaMusina 13 років тому +1

    @surita88 no, actually, she is right. I know your comment is too old, but I want you to get to know something. The word 'red' many years ago wasn't only a name of colour, it meant 'beautiful'. Today we hardly use it in Russian language.

  • @PeoplesGeneral
    @PeoplesGeneral 14 років тому +1

    @surita88
    Actually she is correct, the word "krasnaya" used to mean beautiful, but nowadays it means red. You can see this when you compliment a Russian girl and tell her that she is "krasivaya" which means beautiful. Note the "kras" root in both words. ;-)

    That's why I can't go to meat section at food markets in Russia - when you see the slaughtered baby pigs sitting there with their eyes closed, or the hoofs cut off of the formerly breathing creatures, or even the "proverbial" lard, it just makes me so, so sad. Especially that you know that everything there is fresh, and so all those baby pigs and cows were alive just a day/two days ago. Sad. Obviously doesn't seem that way to Natasha.

    @surita88
    In russian "krasny" means both "red" AND "beautiful". It's like blue in english - color but the sad mood also, depends on what you wanna say.

  • @vorjay

    @surita88 red square isn't actually called red square because it's red, it's called red square because in Russian red also can mean beautiful.

  • @hyugauchiauzumaki
    @hyugauchiauzumaki 12 років тому +1

    in russia :D krasnaya square it what its called no? well in russian language Krasnaya means both beautiful and red :) so they call it red square but also its really "beautiful square" :D hope that helps

  • @shootingstar931
    @shootingstar931 14 років тому

    @surita88
    Because "red" in russian sounds like "krasnaya" what is compared to "krasivaya" (beautiful)

    @surita88 the Russian words Red (красный) and Beautiful (красивый ) have the same root, so Red Square literally means beautiful ;-)

  • @dmitreymelkin
    @dmitreymelkin 12 років тому +1

    Red = красный
    Beautiful = красивый
    These words are cognate in the Old Russian language.

    @giraquaza16 What are you talking about? Natalia Vodianova has 3 children. The oldest is a boy he is the son. The second oldest the one who says "put it down" to her mother Natalia is the daughter a girl. Natalia also has a another boy who is the youngest of them all but i don't think he was shown in this video.

  • @oguuki
    @oguuki 14 років тому

    @surita88 actually she's right) red is an old mean of "beautiful" in russian language.

  • @vlaskiss
    @vlaskiss 12 років тому +1

    Thee is nothing "LOL" in what she said about Red Square. In Russian language words red (красный) and beautiful (красивый ) have the same root "крас".

  • @imalive100
    @imalive100 14 років тому

    @TraceyLouise2260 because you can't live your own life. Your life is dictated by others. What's the point of living a life when it's not yours? It's in the hands of someone else. You have no freedom at all to decide or choose what's best for you, it's all being done for you without your permission. That's why it has such bad news to everyone.

    ее обожаю, но ненавижу ее акцент. столько лет за бугром живет, а все не может научиться корректному произношению. это не так важно, но лично мне ухо режет.
