STOP Falling for THIS Discord Scam Trick!

- There is a new scam on discord where the scammer claims to have reported your account and send you a fake forged mail that they claim is from discord to scare you into thinking your account is in danger.
I end up trolling them brutally and hilariously and the reaction I got at the end was insanely hilarious!
Please keep your accounts safe. Don't click on any links don't give out ANY PRIVATE INFORMATION and always make sure to have 2FA activated.

i got the same message and they talked with chat and i went i almost fell for it until they told me to change my email then i searched on youtube and found this vid, this saved my account, lol.

Happened to me twice,went to notify one server they shared with me. Got blocked and kicked.... luckily, the second time, I told the server and they asked for evidence and such, and did a good deed.
My son just fell for this. He is on spectrum. They robbed him of 200.

I recently fell for this scam on July 26th 2024, loosing $500 in the process. However, that was not all the scammer was asking for. He actually asked for 2 $500 gift cards from Amazon, but luckily my bank rejected the 2nd purchase. I could've lost $1000 altogether. So it was only today that I found out it was a scam.
Trust me like a year or two ago I had a variaton of this scam but with steam xD always be on the alert... xd good to share, the argorythm wanted me to see this!!

one time this random person I forgot I was friends with on steam sent this obviously fake steam scam link, I pointed it out, and they realized their account was sending scam messages while they were online

Gah, I almost fell for this scam, fortunately I did get to recover my account, and I had to make a new one in the meantime which I am currently using. It was really scary though, I ended up getting banned from two of my favorite servers, but fortunately I have since been unbanned and able to rejoin those servers on my new account. It infuriates me that this scam could still be possibly ongoing. I wish I could have seen this video sooner so that I could have avoided this predicament in the first place… I’m autistic and receiving that message from a hacked friend really put me in a very panicked state, the whole ordeal really took a toll on my mental health as I was doing what I could to repair the damage. It also didn’t help that it was a certain time as well, which caused my emotions to be elevated even further… seriously, this was detrimental to my mental health, I know that sounds stupid…

I think these scammers are often from the Philippines or Indonesian
I fell for that 2 months ago 💀, fortunately I got my account back after one month and ten days.
I also (fortunately) had no credit card info linked to my account, so the scammer lost interest in it shortly after (trying) to scam a few of my Discord Friends

this happened to me but it was for reporting my Steam account and that scammed sent me a discord for a "Steam Customer Support" and then my account got hacked because i got hocked to that but luckly accual Steam Support unlocked it for me so its back :)

I actually fell victim to this scam, $400 was taken from me. I am someone who is autistic I had just woken up the day of this when it happened at first illogic at me because I knew it first that I would’ve gotten an email from Discord of my account was reported as soon as the threats came in the logic went right out the window. But funny thing is, I was able to spread the information to a lot of my friends before the person tried to send out a message to them. A good majority of my friends have trolled the scammer i’ve gotten screenshots from friends it was Hilarious.

a month before this my life long friend sent me the exact same thing, i already fucking knew and trolled. they talk in some like "cool" text to make it seem more legit but they dont have the support badge only the nitro badge.

Where do yall find scammers?
Some red flags to think about for this:
- You're getting banned, but it's not Discord emailing you. You'd think they would, instead of only messaging the scammer. Seems horribly inefficient, and in the real world there's no obligation for the scammer to be worried about this.
- It's always "illegal purchases" you're being accused of. They have no reason to believe you're actually making purchases (where'd they find the evidence?) let alone that break the law, whether or not Discord would even care about that. Also I hope you're not actually doing business in the black market or anything.
- Not only is it a doppelganger with an identical profile pic and/or username, you're always found guilty for that person's actions towards this frightened group, sometimes with a mutual server you haven't even spoken in for months. You'd think Discord would do more research, and that such a serious accusation would be justified outside of a panicking mass report.
- Discord will not need to send a friend request to communicate with you on such matters. It's not even the "support agent", it's the one guy freaking out before sending you the username for you to friend. If Discord was serious, this middleman wouldn't even be here.
- You have to beg the question: This guy mass reported someone who wronged him, and Discord sends him a message confirming you are guilty and will be banned. At what point did the scammer realize he got the wrong guy, and figure to message you about it? Also how does he go about making such a blunder when at least a basic report is simply a right click into a menu? And regardless of doppelganger, surely Discord shouldn't be questioned if they've already established you've been reported for the same offenses?
- Most sites and services won't give you a deadline to take steps to "secure your account" to avoid a ban. They'll straight up ban you instantly, or revoke the ban if they realize they've made a mistake. Giving a real criminal such a heads up will just allow them to set up an alternate account and transition everything they can from the to-be-banned account to the new one.
Why was the Song Mu guy obsessed with trying to prove you weren't Russian though? Seems kind of pointless to the question of "are you scamming" or the original premise of a false report.

This has been thing for YEARS but they said they reported you on steam which kinda lowered their range so they made one thats universal. I even might have met this exact guy and trolled him myself they were REALLY similiar but hard to tell with their copy pasting.
