    Respected sir
    I'm from Bangladesh and try to watch your videos. Sir, I lack with words to say sth best about you. You are beyond praise.
    Anyway, could you explain an affirmative sentence and an assertive sentence? I mean how to recognize them. For example. I see a bird. What sentence does it belong to?
    I would be much beholden if you explain in your way.
    Thanks.

    • @englishguruamansir
      @englishguruamansir  3 роки тому

      Dear Syed
      An affirmative sentence is one which makes a positive statement, or
      In other words, an affirmative sentence is one which has no negative word.
      On the other hand, an assertive sentence is one which makes an assertion, or an statement positive or negative.
      More clearly if I say, an assertive sentence is one which starts with a subject and ends with a full Stop.

    Sir, "he was seen/found to be multiple well defined solid hypoechoic lesions in his liver by ultrasound"
    is this sentense correct or No? If it correct how to write in active voice?

    • @englishguruamansir
      @englishguruamansir  2 роки тому

      Dear Anil
      The sentence you wrote is, I think, wrong.
      The sentence is in passive form, and in this sentence 'he' ( the receiver ) and 'ultrasound' ( the agent ) both are inappropriate with the verb 'seen'
      Just try to think a bit
      What was seen on an ultrasound?
      The answer is ' multiple well defined solid hypoechoic lesions' (not he ) right?
      Hence this should be the subject of the passive verb 'were seen'
      Now
      Who can perform the action of seeing?
      The answer is ... A doctor ( not ultrasound)
      Hence ' by ultrasound' is wrong.
      So the sentence should be like as under.
      Multiple well defined solid hypoechoic lesions were seen in his liver on an ultrasound ( by a / the doctor).(Passive)
      A / the doctor saw multiple well defined solid hypoechoic lesions in his liver on an ultrasound.(Active)
      Thanks!
      I hope it helps you.

    Sir
    How to recognise the difference between Noun clause object complement and Adjective clause attached to object ?

    • @englishguruamansir
      @englishguruamansir  2 роки тому

      It's very simple.
      The sentence can't make sense without the Noun clause used as object complement.
      Whereas
      The sentence can make sense without the adjective clause modifying it's antecedent noun used as the object of the verb of the main clause.
