The time out is muscle memory for Peyton. He's legimitately having a panic attack because his instincts can't handle the incompetence he's seeing.😂
People want to go after the coach, but Russell Wilson could’ve taken it upon himself to call one….. dude has plenty of time in the league to make that decision. It’s not like they only had one timeout left.
@@scoby41 exactly! They're both accountable. A 200 million dollar super bowl winning QB has to take charge tho 🤦🏾♂️
@@scoby41 Not likely new coach new QB and he is no Peyton Manning as a game manager. Scale 1-10 Wilson is about an 8 with Peyton being about a 14. Peyt would have called the time out right away like he did here and sent the kicker packing when Hacky trotted him out. Still surprised how Russell looked like deer in the headlights most of the time and he still dinked and dunked mostly for over 300 yards !!!
Bro... guys who played football always have that instinct at the end of the half/game, you just go into time saving mode, even the lineman ask the QB to call timeout cause they gotta save as much time as possible. Everyone is in the 2 minute drill mode. IDK how coaches don't have that, YOU TRAIN THE TEAM TO HAVE A 2 MINUTE DRILL AND YOU DON'T NOTICE THE TIME!!!
@@scoby41 Russell was also part of a team that had a critical play during a huge game with < 1m left, at the goal line and they weren't fully focused but still had time outs if needed to settle down - everyone was expecting the opposing coach to call time-out but, in his genius, he let them form up and throw the ball instead of running it in from the 1. Didn't turn out so well then either.

That’s three multiple Super Bowl winners saying call time out …
Three multi super bowl winners watching the Broncos have a low IQ moment. Lol
So much bad on this drive it's hard to process it all. Wilson had Jeudy wide open across the middle. Then Hackett decides in the first week of the season has no faith in his 30 million dollar QB picking up 6 yards. Feels he has better odds kicking a 64 yarder on the road. Unreal
As well as everyone in the stadium and at home watching the game, except, clearly, anyone on the Broncos.

I can’t imagine a 64 yard kick has a higher success rate than a trying to go 5 yards.
well getting a first down doesnt win you the game, but making the field goal does. Still probably a bad call though
@@lgstack2496 getting a first down wins you the game with 2 timeouts left
@@lgstack2496 i mean they did have 3 timeouts and they had lots of time
Luke Gramith Going for the first down puts them in a better position to kick said potential game winning FG. They had two timeouts too so they could’ve had two more plays to maybe take it from a 64 yarder to 50ish. Obviously there’s no guarantees but going for it would’ve been far smarter imo
I agree that it wasn't the right call but, just taking percentages into account, you have to consider the odds of making the five yards and multiply that by the odds of kicking the field goal afterwards. I'm guessing their chance of getting the five yards was in the neighborhood of 50%. Probably they pick up five more yards, maybe ten more after that but maybe not, who knows? But they could probably have gotten a more manageable shot at the FG. The odds of making a kick at the 50 yard range are probably around 60%. So , if they went for it they're looking at a 30% chance or less of winning the game. But what are the odds of kicking a 64 yard FG? I'm guessing they're even less.
Shannon Sharpe: “kick what?!” Cracks me up every time 😂 he can finally use skips line “I’ve never seen anything like it!” 🤣

What I love about this clip in addition to one of the most incompetent coaching displays I've ever seen is that randomly, Eli, after talking to Peyton the whole show, takes note that Peyton is wearing a pink sweater and starts in on him for it.

@@turkey4957 I wish he was like that in games to guys. It might've actually gotten him to be somewhat more competitive. Instead he just stood around on the sideline, went 3-and-out, and then would go deep and hit someone.

Because 2 INTs is fine, relatively speaking. But that 3rd one will kill your performance. Tom Brady got a SB MVP in SB 50 despite throwing 2 costly INTs and his defense bailing him out at the end (tbf it was pretty much Pete Caroll that bailed them out). If he'd thrown a 3rd one though, it probably would've gone to somebody else.

I still can’t get over how horrible of a coaching job that was by Hackett. I’m not even a Broncos fan, but my god, he should’ve been fired for electing to kick an improbable field goal instead of trusting a star QB (who the Broncos paid a premium for) to convert a 4th and 5.

The field goal was always the plan. Russell Wilson couldn't do shit on offense that season. Why call a timeout if you're gonna kick it? So he makes it and there's 30 seconds left for Seattle to score? I don't get why everyone was so flabbergasted about the coach's clock management.

Glad to know that 3 NFL Superstars had the same thoughts and reactions to one of the worst coaching decisions that we will see in the NFL this year. This decision makes the Bengals nonsense against the steelers look intelligent.
I don't mean this ironically or with a shred of hyperbole: In hindsight, I would have rather had your average teenaged Madden player handle the playcalling of the last minute of those two games. Millionaire professional coaches in heavily scrutinized sports leagues like the NFL, NBA and MLB routinely make awful decisions that kids wouldn't even make.
Eli being like kicking right here? Oh
Lovie Smith's surrender punt was a worse coaching decision
The Bengals got burned by the rule requiring the player who fumbled the ball to be the only one to advance the ball. Not running the clock down and risking a delay of game penalty wasn't the worst decision. Considering the issues with the long snapper on the extra point at the end of regulation, and the overtime field goal.
This year?! Naw, like the last several decades at best

@@TheGardiner past genos successes every hawk fan is just happy we can have total faith in our org. We have been a great team since pete and John took over and now we know it's not just because we had good players
The pain on Peyton’s face watching all that time tick away 😂
If they get the first down they coulda run 3 plays in that 30 seconds instead of just standing there with no plan. Tom Brady already woulda known which play he'd do first and have a least 2 plans for if the play broke down, so would Peyton. Tom Brady in SB36 when he was a rookie went from his own 12 yard line to field go range in about the same time and he didn't have the help of time outs.
Eli saying “what color is that sweater Peyton?” Had me rolling
Lol Eli
He WAITED until the end of the game to point it out too lmfaoaoao
Hahahahahahaaha
That’s hilarious
Russell then: “We’re gunna run it, right?”
Russell now: “we’re gunna go for it, right?”
“Now you know how it feels.”
-Marshawn Lynch
I thought he left Seattle to cook that offence looked an awful lot like Seattle's run run run deep attempt under routes hmm
Head coach is garbage I feel sorry for Russ he isn't the player he once was
Hackett obviously went to the Frost school of coaching. I love how after his front office gives up the kitchen sink for Wilson, he doesn't trust him to get 4 yards. I love how he also forgets he wasted all that time and burned one of his time outs, he started trying to take time outs when Seattle took a knee. Did you just forget you blew up that plan, when you wasted 40 seconds and had to burn one? Jeez
That said it all about where he is as a coach and good decision maker. Smh.
Dude freaked out under the pressure
Also runner stayed inbounds, when there was a clear path to the sideline, on two plays just before that. They didn't even get any significant yards in exchange for it, maybe 1 or 2.
💀💀💀💀
Well 4 yards would've been a turnover on downs...🤔
One of the most entertaining 3 minutes on UA-cam. Shannon Sharpe constantly catching himself to keep his comments PG. Love it.
I'd pay money for Shay to come on weekly with these 2 🤣
Lol I don’t think they’ll give him a Fox and espn deal lol
@@ncwrestling2412 Daddy Disney technically owns both, so it could happen, fox let him do the Thursday night games on NFL network.
The disappointment in Shannon's voice.
Peyton wanting to jump in the television and quarterback the team
And Eli is in complete disbelief
“KICK WHAAAT??” Lmaoo Shannon and probably Peyton were the only ones who seemed to have a problem with the decision on live. Couldn’t get a read on Eli.
lol true Eli just didn't care who won....... wasn't his old team
I'm sure Eli had the same reaction, just not as outward with it.
@@Rik3n Shannon and Peyton retired before kickers entered the league being able to hit 65+ yard field goals. Eli retired around the point these kickers were starting to become prevalent in the league so I think he might have been more open to the idea.
@@leotrain2792 nah I think he was just shocked lol. He was still trying to figure out why they didn't take a timeout earlier
Eli looked like he was wondering if they might actually make it. Shannon and Peyton already speechless like wtf impossible.
1:09 "They're gonna kick it." KICK WHAT??!!
“They’re gonna kick it..” “KICK WHAT!?” Shannon wasn’t having it 😂
"Lemme see how far this is..................WHAT!"
“Kicking THEMSELVES I AFTER WASTING 30 SECONDS I CAN SEE! BUT KICKING THE FOOTBALL? FROM THERE?!”
As a seahawk fan, one of our new favorite pastimes is feeling bad for how bad Denver plays against us.
the contempt in peytons voice and confusion of shannon is perfection @1:08
I love Shannon not being able to contain his incredulity as they burn the timeout, Eli asks Peyton a question and Shannon is just already saying what we are all thinking
That was one of the worst clock managements I’ve ever seen man.
I don't know what Hackett was doing on that final sequence. just head scratching all around.
Mike McCarthy looks like a genius compared to Denver's coach.
@Diocletian60 In Andy's defense he has a million plays and gets tunnel vision. This...this was planned.
You must have missed the Cowboys wild card game a couple months ago 🤣
Nothing wrong with clock management if the plan was to kick the field goal on 4th down. Time didn't matter at that point. It was the decision to kick the field goal that was the problem. I'm a Seahawks fan and thought it was a great decision though 😆.
I like how Eli asked so calmly what colored shirt Peyton is wearing 🤣🤣
Eli's type of humor along with his personality makes this show a must watch on monday nights.
Shannon sharpe squinting at the TV 💀
I will never forget seeing this moment live. This was the FIRST WEEK and we were getting terrible time management like this. This was incredible.
Time management was perfect. Football fans are just really stupid
And it was the moment that everyone knew that it would be a long season for Denver fans.
Possibly the most wasted 40 seconds ever with 3 timeouts! Shannon’s reaction was priceless
Every play under 2:30 should be some sort of try to stop the clock, what was he thinking 😭
I love it, the look on Eli's face when Shannon said "kickers are making 60 yarders and hitting the back of the net" PRICELESS!
I LOVE Eli's "What in the ever-loving holy fuck are they **DOING** ?" look on his face...
Eli trying to be the most rational and hold the groups sanity together through the whole video is amazing.
“They’re gonna kick it.”
“KICK IT? KICK WHAT!”
Shannon sharpe said, “kick what… hold on” LOL 😆
It’s Shannon Sharpe for me: “Kick what?” 😂😂😂😂 Hackett is a clown
the IQ and knowledge that these 3 have rival the whole NFL
My reaction to those last few plays was very similar to Shannon and the Mannings, except I'm Seahawks fan, so I had a huge grin on my face when it was over. Lots of "well now they're going to do this... wait, they're doing that? Uh, okay. Fine with me." Hackett calling timeouts on the kneel down in some vain hope the center would botch the snap with this jerk expression on his face was the icing on the cake. This was literally his first game as a head coach and I imagine Broncos fans are already calling for him to be fired.
Yeah it's been 2 months and I still feel that overreaction by the Broncos fans who legitimately did say that as crazy. That being said, as a whole the performance of this team specifically offensively is just embarrassing. They got rid of Fangio because this was supposed to make them better? I always feel that way when they cut ties with a HC. You wanna upgrade at the position not throw darts.
The way Russ dapped up with the coach 1:00 as he walks off tells you everything you need to know. He is DONE with him already.
Is that what that was? Because I feel like Wilson could have called the timeout like Peyton would have, and Wilson just looked like he didn't care. Come to think of it, he always looks like he doesn't care.
I know when he got home he lost his religion 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@matchesmalone2201 I don't think he wanted to override his coach on the 1st game
Peyton's reactions to the awful coaching in the NFL are great 😂😂😂. The Broncos wasted 40 seconds for no reason.
The crazy trade for Russell Wilson was one of the worst trades in NFL history
That’s Walmart for ya
ofc u said this at the end of the season like every bandwagon casual hater. I said it as soon as they got Russ
@@calvincalvin3132
I was in Philly praying we would not trade for Wilson or Watson from
Houston that most people here wanted last summer. Giving up multiple high draft picks
for old QB's at the tail end of their career and making wayyyy too much money
is NEVER a good idea. When has that EVER worked anywhere in the NFL ???
I wanted to stick with Hurts and hope he panned out.
@Gig Galaxy
Not me!!! That guy always came off as fake with fake confidence.
Ok so....if he has a great season next year is it still a bad trade ?
