- In this interview from 1987, Cher, Michelle Pfeiffer and Susan Sarandon discuss The Witches of Eastwick, a 1980s film based on the 1984 novel by John Updike.
Cher talks about first seeing co-star Michelle Pfeiffer on film in the 1983 movie Scarface, meeting the pope and needing a dress for the occasion, her Silkwood co-stars Meryl Streep and Sudie Bond and working with Jon Bon Jovi as a producer on her upcoming 1987 album, Cher.
Michelle Pfeiffer talks about a wristwatch that was a gift from Jack Nicholson and her character Sukie Ridgemont, a mother of five children. Susan Sarandon talks about her character Jane Spofford and working with Jack Nicholson and Veronica Cartwright.

Michelle's outfit was so cute
omg soo cute
And how she is sitting. 😊
I love how honest Cher is, even when she's trying to be polite and inoffensive.
Brian Linehan's interview style, his industry savvy, and unassailable charm were sublime. Thoroughly pleasurable viewing. You could tell the three stars felt the same - cherries and all.
Why do i like this interview but nobody else does . I think he comes up with some good questions. Kind of crucial things.
Pay no mind to the general rifraf in the comments. Brian Linehan was a legend who asked thoughtful and intelligent questions that few other interviewers could or would, and who had a genuine love for the art of theatre and film.
He was the best in the biz. No one compares. look up Martin Short Brock Linahan on youtube.
If you’re a Cher fan it was a great video. If you’re a Sarandon fan, it was a horrible video. For me it was enjoyable and tortuous because I could hear them chewing and the interviewer’s mouth was dry and sticky sounding 😣
@@kb_analytics The interviewer is one of the best. Inside the actors guild copied his tone and excellent research style. Miss Brian.
That’s fine, I’ve nothing against the interview itself. But the sound of them eating and his own mouth sounds was quite distracting for me. But that’s my own sensory issues. It has nothing to do with the quality of his questions.
This interview is so awkward it's cracking me up 😅 love these ladies especially Cher 😍
It's only awkward because he asks such (comparatively) well researched questions lol, which perpetually seems to catch his guests off guard. He's kind of an antecedent to someone like Nardwuar; an awkward, thoroughly prepared, almost uncomfortably passionate interviewer...
Three women eat cherries during the scenes of the movie is where Darryl Van Horne (Jack Nicholson) was at the Ice cream parlor was knocked down by the chocolate scoops in the counter.
There are two cherry scenes. The one with Jack at the ice cream was the second cherry event
Does he even realize Susan Sarandon is there?
Justiceforall Yeah, right, I mean she worked with david bowie
Beloney She always a LUISe Tellma grate I sorry too be illlerate
Yes he does, the giveaway is when he talks many times directly to her.
@@michaelreilly3513lol people eh? :)
nope...she is invisible.....michella has the face ..cher has the personality...susan zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Michelle pfeiffer is most beautiful and icon style actress I love Michelle doll face
rose marry Susan is beautiful as well...
Cher too, beautiful dark lady armenian queen.
@@joannyxo3627 Cher is the sexiest of these three to me. Michelle tends to seem kind of spaced out.
I'm from Toronto!!
People complaining about the gay interviewer, he’s not acting any differently than they did in the 1980’s. All interviewers asked silly questions like this. Being offended wasn’t a thing until Instagram and Twitter.
people are ridiculous . The interviewer is incredible . He does his homework . Nothing like the crap they ask today
WOW
Bill Murray Over Jack Nicholson to play "Old Scratch" ?!?!?!?! LoL... No One more Deviously Charming than the Great Jack Nicholson ! Great film, great cast !!
Murray was almost cast as the private eye Eddie Valiant in Who Framed Roger Rabbit the next year too.
OHH yeah baby
Ugg! Why isn’t there no good interviews of this wonderful actors and this wonderful movie?
Every question he makes I have a hard time only trying to understand what’s he talking about or where’s he getting at?
Michelle Pfeiffer en güzeli yemin ederim ❤️
I think worst interview questions ever but just star in the interview are legends among actors.
I would if Susan and Michelle knew how vile George Miller was to Cher during the making of the movie.
I would love an everything is terrible cut of this. What an odd interview...
why?
Why does he want to talk about Jack Nicholson so much, when he isn’t even there ??
Because he’s the star of the movie and the interview is supposedly promo for the movie
@@kb_analytics People are too used to the fluff who gives a shit interviews today to understand his delving into their relationships past and present and how they got to be sitting on that couch in the first place. He's the equivalent of a musicians musician. This is why actors loved being interviewed by him. but some popcorn listening watchers don't get it. It was always about the actors first.
That's what I said! "Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack" His hard on for Jack Nicholson is so big, I'm surprised he didn't have to sit behind a desk.
Well jack nickolson back in this time I believe was in 1987 was still one of the biggest actors.
Oh dear...He's blabbing on like some therapist, revealing all this knowledge about them and digging into their past. If I had never seen Witches... I'd be super confused by this as they barely get into it. I'm confused anyway actually.
Yeah, acknowledging their Past better work is horrible. How dare he. lol
that's this style
OMG how horrible of him to prepare all this knowledge ahead of time about their previous work .. you dont need to see the witches you just have to be up on your Hollywood game
Is this Elvira or Michelle? 😝
Cherries... Mmmm... 😄
Even the way Michelle and Susan sit on the sofa is disrespectful.
Why? Honesty curious
Michelle looks so pissed :)))
actually she looks intrigued. That was most likely the first time she was a part of a real interview that wasn't about fluff. He was so knowledgeable.
huh?
?? Michelle always has that look
These questions are terrible.
I remember hearing back in the day that Brian L. hated Cher. Does anyone know if this was true and, if so, why?
nah
He hated her because when she won her oscar for Moonstruck she thanked everyone,(including her hairstylist)except the films director Norman Jewison.
@@ruling528 Really? That would be odd, taking offence on someone else's behalf. Also, didn't Cher take out a big ad in Variety the next day to thank the people she forgot to thank at the ceremony?
Jon Peters and George Miller were playing around with the casting and Susan and Cher thought that they were both playing Alex in the movie. There was tension between Susan and Cher because of this. It wasn’t their fault as both professionals. Later during the filming all 3 female stars were disrespected but stood together to get the film finished. They were all reluctant to promote the film because they had had such a nightmare making the film. I feel the interviewer was excited for the film and meeting them but they are just...f*ck this movie and it’s promotion.
How were they disrespected, what happened?
They don't seem unhappy about promoting it here.
Cher seems so nice and the other two seem annoyed, entitled and bored.
This was truly the most cringe-worthy, patronizing, exposition-latent, heinous and blatantly ironic interview I have ever had the misfortune of witnessing. How these women managed to not entirely eviscerate the blubbering zygote interviewing them is mesmerizing to me.
Katy Petree He was terrible!!!
They cut out the part where he asked them all if they loved him, very cringeworthy.
Brian, RIP. You were the best and there will never be another. He interviews actors about more than just acting and he was the best. Too bad you are so delirious about whomever it was you dream about at night.
you have to be kidding? they are incredibly flattered he knows so much.
Cringeworthy interview! Stay awake ladies!!!!
This interviewer knows more about their lives than the average stalker.
They had to add a slide about the interviewer's accomplishments bc just watching the interview, you'd never know he was supposedly good at his job. If he's such a hotshot, why didn't he interview Jack himself, instead of wasting 3 beautiful & talented women's time?
How awkward.
I love these three women, but this is a terrible interview. This interviewer is terrible.
nah he's cool
I’ve seen this guy interview Steve Martin and Robin Williams also. Something just not right about the way he sentimentally compliments and shows all this gargantuan knowledge of their associates and quoted opinions involving them. Like he’s a stalker intruding upon their lives sort of. Both Martin and Williams at times appear repulsed by him or at least uncertain of his motivation.
he's great
Cher looks so annoyed 🤣
Cher is annoying!
The question about being a mom and calling out Michelle for not being one, yikes
No one "called her out."
Can't understand why 53 ppl liked this vid, but only 6 didn't, yet the comments hate it. Wth? lol ....This interviewer was so condescending to all the women, i'm surprised they didn't walk out!
Because he was one of the greats. Just because he was smart and has full knowledge of each actors career and talks to them in their language, meaning he knows what Cher ate when she was making her first film and why that dish changed her career, doesn't really please popcorn watchers. It's more deeper than "why didn't you have brooms hahahaha" lol jesus.
nah he's a master
does anybody else get the feeling that Cher and Susan didn't like Michelle that much?
Susan actually came out a few years ago and said she and Michelle kept getting the cold shoulder from Cher during the film shoot.
nah you're imagining shit
I don't know about back then, but Cher and Michelle are friends til now.
what a shockingly bad interview
Michelle came across vapid, I found her unlikeable. Loved Cher.
Interviewer seems so very condescending
?? Huh
Talk about mansplaning. Thankfully we don’t have interviewers steeped in male privilege and chauvinism.
oh please he's gay and very charming
The interviewer is gay. He’s not talking any differently than people talked in the 80’s.
@@TheLiveMusicGroup Why the hell is him being gay relevant to this interview? That gives him an excuse for asking weird questions? LOL!
Can you still “mansplain” if you’re gay lol?!
Oh he's just awful!! He's just trying to get them to bitch about each other! "What did you think.." "Where..." etc he's using all these words to try and get them to turn against each other in some way.
he\s a master
Is it just me or does Cher and Michelle seem like they don't really like one another?
It's just you. They are good friends to this day - it's the idiot interviewer they don't like.
@@AA-zq1sx Idiot interviewer? lol fuck you're stupid. He is one of the best to ever do it. Sorry he likes to talk too the actors about how they got to where they are. I know it's hard when you are used to people sucking up to them. He is their equal, they are just people.
@@sampson3121 Their equal? ROFL... He wishes! No one knows who the f this clown is. Cher & Michelle are living LEGENDS.
@Jerry L. Excep Cher isn't YOU, she's a living legend sex goddess and perfectly confident in her appeal next to anyone. Maybe you're insecure next to Brad Pitt, but George Clooney isn't.
@@AA-zq1sx Well this clown is the reason you have inside the actors studio interviews the way they are. This interview was well done because he talks about more than one fucking movie and talks to the actors about the behind the scenes stuff and people they admire and who might have helped them be who they are. This guy is a legend because actors respected his knowledge of the acting business not just the fluff rag tag bullshit you like. He doesn't kiss fucking asses so you don't like him. Go fuck yourself, they are just fucking people too. Cher is way over hyped from the day she became famous and was a below average actor. get over it. What the fuck has Susan done that makes her a legend? Thelma and Louis? lol get the fuck out of here.
get off you fucking knees and stop sucking their ass. you but hurt bitch.
Are they actually eating cherries?!😳
What an odd interview. Also, that couch is so hideously 80's
Brian the master
