That marvel mystery oil was draining straight into the oil pan through the oil return galleys. If you want it in the cylinders, you need to pull the injectors.
Best way Pull it to a hill Roll it down. Use clutch to break the speed down. When the thing rolls freely, engine in gear 🤨 turning freely, simply stop the truck and shoot in starting fluid, as one crank it
Wild Wiley's back. Ugh, got the coffin sleeper. Had one back in the 70's . Hated the cab overs. They leaned side to side in sharp turns. A lot of the old Macks were positive ground. Found that out the hard way.
Great attempt boys! Always entertaining watching y'all work on these old rigs! 👌
My friends dad use to say . He went fishing and caught a fish so big and he used the scales to shingle his roof .
Havent seen too many comments on it so i’ll say it! Ive enjoyed seeing the improvements in your production. The quality is definitely going up. Don’t know what all is going on behind the scenes, but just know it’s appreciated!
1976 was the first year of the Aerodyne raised roof sleeper on a limited Bicentennial edition and was also the introduction of the VIT interior.
Most truthful statement I've ever heard y'all say, "were not mechanics" LOL!!!!!😂 Keep up the GREAT videos, y'all are a blast to watch and listen to while i work on trucks and cars in my shop!!!!
Hamiltonville farm master mechanic says :we need Hamiltonville Farms 🤣
Hank says: Wallie I think it will do 91 MPH 🤣
If it was the 8v92 Detroit...it would have fired right up. Ive seen a Buzzin' Dozen in one of these..they used it to haul gigantic loads up in northern Canada. They used 2 stroke Detroits in these mainly in the colder areas, Cummins in the warmer areas.
If the engine was/is locked up it wouldn't make any difference, I have seen 2 stroke Detroits that locked up do to lack of oil, or water in the oil to say IF it was a Detroit it would fire up is an incorrect assumption.
@@bertgrau3934 Well look at the 53/71/92 DDC expert...how many years experience do you have working on them? Drop some knowledge on us.
@@netrioter
I was in the trucking business for 44 years, I have lots of experience with lots of different engine makes, Detroit, Cummins, cat, Perkins, Mercedes, and Volvo. The only Detroit that made real power was the 92 and the 12V71 they were both low fuel mileage engines. I've seen the newer Cummins , (15 liter) after 1 million miles tend to throw a rod. Don't know why. The cat had problems with the cylinder liners not being the correct deck height, which would cause the head gasket blow that was the newer engines as well. The older cats were better, but would Break the bank when they did Break down. The older Mack's were good engines, the newer Mack engines weren't bad either, when Volvo took over Mack, the quality went out the door. Don't know about the Volvo engine now, maybe Volvo got the bugs worked out. The Mercedes 16 liter V8 is a good engine as well, runs strong and dependable, but gets horrible fuel mileage. ( can't get that engine in the USA , can't pass USA EPA requirements) live in the USA but I drove both Mercedes and Volvo in Kuwait, and Iraq. The Volvo engine used in their European trucks seem to be much better than the American engines as well.
The one thing I like about the 2 stroke Detroits, is the noise they make. The fuel mileage is bad, and the power is down.
Gives new meaning to Bush hammer
Loved this I loved the intro definitely going to buy a shirt that's making oil 🛢️
At first I thought the intro was another commercial. Lol. Enjoyed the time with the Dynamic Duo. Always enjoyable watching the two of you whether the engine runs or not.
Lol. Oh uh… maybe I need to figure something out as to not confuse anyone
Good effort guys! I enjoy these videos....keep up the good work! 🙂
Y'all need a battery sponsor!!! Haha Another awesome video
I searched for a PO box. I gotta get on that tool box!!!
Awesome, on the way!!! Thanks Hank.
Hey while I got ya. Does it benefit you more to watch videos here or fb?
I like it when Wiley turns his hat around….it’s like Superman putting on his cape! Enjoy the content guys. Keep it up.👍
19:27 We say "clé à molette" in french :D
I Like the W-900 Kenworth Video, I Love Kenworth Trucks, Best Out There.
I love watching your videos they are very cool, congratulations
Enjoyed the intro…great video fellas!
Engine confirmed what I suspected, the rockers being that rusty said to me that water had gotten into the bottom end too, and it might be a lost cause without a total tear down. Sometimes it sucks to be right. Love ya brother, maybe that loader I saw in the area will crank?
Loved this episode Hank, you and Whiley sure are doing a good job. To bad this W900 didn't start, but you can't save them all.
Greatings from Dalfsen, Netherlands.
It's just like the truck that Twinstick Garage's restoring
Sometimes they're just too far gone to save. Those rusty rockers make me believe that she's had water run all the way through her at some point.
If I'm not mistaken, '84 was the last A model 900, then in '85 came the 900 B model, then as a prototype for the James Bond movie was the first 900 L model in '89 which was the 007 W900L. The original plan was to not mass produce the 900L, rather use the prototype and/or however many it took to make the movie, however, Kenworth saw how popular they were among the trucking industry through the public eye and decided to continue the model for the working man. Thank God!
I like your little helper mechanic, hope to see more of him..Give the truck engine more time with the mystery oil to work..I'm pretty sure that the engine will turn..I would love to see that old truck engine turn over..A very, very, nice looking truck..
It is roomy favorite rig. Junior was on vacation with a family friend…. He’s back home now. Well mannered kid.
@@HamiltonvilleFarm Yall done riunt him. Sent him home with a pocket full of Crescent wrenches. See how yall are!
Do you remember you both got same truck in last july? it was runing tho. Btw, you poured marvel mistery oil to the cylinder head, but here is the thing, you cant reach to the cylinders from head esp in diesels there is no another hole except injectors. You have to pull injectoıs out to put some oil in to the compression chamber. Your marvel mistery oil went in to nowhere but crank case. Remember oil filling neck is on top the cylinder head cover, oil goes to crank case then oil pan. Of course if it is not making oil itself smiles. Always fun to watch your videos esp when wiley is in there too, Good job guys...
that engine is similar to the k100 kenworth hopeful you find a buyer for it will be a nice restoration
that old kenworth was tired!lol😂😂
Hank you and Whilley do a great job but nature took you both to the ground but you can't win them all the fun is in the fight and you two make it fun the best channel ever you guys always make my day thank you never miss a video and can't wait for next one.
After all, it was abandoned for a reason. What we don't know and is also possible, the transmission, and/or drive axles could have major problems as well. The owner could have figured its not worth fixing. The owner may have still owed money for it . A lot of possible reasons for leaving the truck.
Just checking did you check to make sure the transmission was out of gear
Hey Hank, I was Wondering if I Could get a T-shirt that says I Got Wally with Me? He's The Man.
I think his name is Wiley bud. So a shirt with Sally is probably a no go! 😆
Hey Hank. Is that Chainsaw 20 volt or the bigger flex volt? Thanks. Love these videos 😄
Great video, awesome!!!!!👌👍
I love watching yall guys I always wait for yall to be like she making oil 😂
Hi Hank and wally, love your video very much, waiting for your next video.gbu👍👍
Thanks for another great video Hank and Wiley. It was interesting and enjoyable.
Sorry this one did not want to go. You both put a lot of effort into it. Some are too far gone.
Those rocket arms looked pretty bad. Just thing it was beyond it’s time. Thanks for what you did.
Like Wiley’s new shirt. Making oil is a good one. Nest shirt. You are a good model Wiley. Just saying. Ha.
Like your young helper. That is the way they learn.
You both take care and be safe.
Looking forward to the next video.
Thanks for everything Hank and Wiley.
Retired Air Force veteran.
I think my uncle owned that truck years ago. His name was Jim Poss he had a tile roofing company and window and door business around Destin/Ponce De Leon
could probably buy it now cheaper than you could have inherited it had he retained it.
howboutcha!!! hank your videos are the only ones on here I can't wait to see the next one !!!
🙋🏻♂️ hello from Sweden 🇸🇪
Try breaking it free by dropping a Ranger on the crowbar!! 🤣🤣 Love your videos!!!!
I love ur work guys from Africa Mozambique
Great work guys.always carefully .love from sri lanka
My husband owned a W900..Green Metallica with pinstripes 450 Cummins..That truck ran.and ran
One thing you might can try is drain the oil, fill it slap up with diesel, let it sit for a month or so, drain it all out and see if she don’t turn over
You called wiley ol sparky lol! Hank remember the aerodyne kw? Went to a open house at a kw dealer and my dad made an offer to buy it,the dealer wanted 59 grand for a new one(this was back in the early 80s mind you)
Hi guys, you have an informative channel 👍🏻 hello to you from Moscow
I'm a bit suspicious of that missing driveshaft....I wonder if the engine seized and the ol girl had to be towed home. Sad she sits unappreciated, but you can't win them all!
Awesome video guys! I believe '82 was the last year of the W900 A model as the W900 B started in '83.
My step dad was a truck driver until he pass in 87 we use to travel with him when I was little
Just some help pulley with two large belts that go to the fan is gear driven on those Old Cummins from small cam to Big cam to N14 1 5/16 socket make it easier next time but good project for a More modern drive train a power plant
Those old semis are so cool.
Excellent video Hank :).& Wiley :) those Kenworth had in frist January to June 30 circle headlights in July 4 went to Square headlights up to and up 1995 went big Rectangular with with one in 2005 2 bulbs for options and 2010 all them got it and ordered 1 bulbs in Square with Turn signals in to ! Also Hank :) also Wiley :) witch of both you be Truckers on highway driveing because got so many trucks fix up lately too and lots choose from Lol!
that's it get this truck up and running well done if you do thanks guy's take care.
I can only speak for Australian W models i first drove one in the mid 80s it had a black 400 cummins, a fifteen speed road ranger 1810 driveline, with 44000 lb diffs on a Hendriksen suspension, it was the best truck I ever drove I loved that truck. carted 80,000 kgs {80 ton} of wheat on two trailers in to the Bin at Walgett NSW . It would easily blow the doors of any 400 mack , especially in the hills believe it or not. you could change gears so fast it was awesome no clutch required. I noticed your truck had a late model gearstick. in Australia some of them came out with a 13 speed R/R. .but would have been with the big chrome knob and a sliding range change and splitter button. most of the trucks on the east coast had cummins motors and 15 speed R/R on the west coast 13speed R/R . I drove 3 different one over the years they where all awesome. Why do American trucks always have lawn mower tanks, it must drive you mad fueling up all the time. how do you get on when your out in the back blocks carting 6 decks of cattle or something like that. plus they look odd. .the view over big bonnet was awesome . as good as the view over the bonnet of a Western Star ,Heritage series. another awesome truck..
Always great content, my southern brothers! No driveshaft? Put a bar thru the u-joint holes, maybe turn from there. Could find a mechanical advantage thru the gears.
Just your crazy chef here Hank. Fixing to watch the video. Today's comment: Ya know, if you'd treat Elvis better, he'd quit running away from home and you'd be able to stop having to search the woods for him where you find all these trucks. Lol. As always, all the best to everyone. Chef Scott 👨🍳. Stay safe.
Good Afternoon Y'all You Guys are Awesome i learn stuff from y'all all the time The 🍺 & Double Cheeseburger are on Us Wiley Lol Hank & everyone else Stay Safe Peace & Grease Sorry about Dad 🙏🙏🙏
Pls make complete videos Sir.. nice videos. Please make a will it start series soon ...
Awesome video guys it might not ta started but it was Making oil appreciate the videos 👍
All depends what it had for a trany . The right gearing yes it could do 130 mph . This one is definitely a no-go. . Great video guys as they all are.
You should get a hold of jentry& sons he is looking for one on youtube .
Apart from this little mouse house on top of the engine and the missing transmission shaft, this truck still is in good shape for having sat 15 years, as Wiley has put it. Well, from the outside, of course! All the best! Oh yeah, have of course hit the thumbs up button!
The A models have their unique hood design with that funnel or "A" shape on top the hood. After '82 they started production of thr W900B models
In 1981 I drove a W900 & K100 and both had duel Round head lights
OmG! Nice seeing diesel creek sticker over there.
Cool Intro man! Kenworth is still the best. (My opinion)
Greetings from Germany :)
Morning from 🇬🇧 great stuff maty bin watching your stuff for a while love all of it. Ru in Florida cos may come over holiday one day keep the good stuff reagards to you & Wiley Les north wales 🏴 uk 🏴🇺🇸
would have to be a long term soak with mystery oil and i also used olive or cooking oil and a bit of diesel in a mix and let it sit for about 6 months to free up a farmall engine
Hope someone saves it. I definitely would.
اعانكم الله في عملكم
Thanks Hank and Wiley for a great video you win since you lose some nice try thanks again
Lray needs that he has a 68 and 72 I think he's putting the 68 cab on a new model w900 be a sharp truck.was that willy do all that fancy talking in the intro,👍👍👍👍
gonna diffnelty have to send one of my stickers when i git em done
There is a way of turning the engine over use the gearbox take the gearbox in first gear bolt a bar to the prop flange can sticker a come along on it it will either slip the clutch or break the engine free or if you're feeling dangerous you can try pouring boiling oil into each cylinder but that's best done in a workshop with the engine out
Same year I'm born in '82. I wish y'all get it going.
Great video. Should pack a leaf blower on the truck
You guys need to carry a leaf blower with you. They are not just for leaves anymore.
good job and God bless yall
Good Evening Y'all Great Video You may know this already a friend of mine does diesel repair an old cabover Peterbilt came in he fired the engine up turned the AC on after sitting 10 years the vent blew right in his face gave him legion air's disease Though t I should say something I've never heard of that God Bless You & Your Families
I think that old girl is seized solid 😢😢
Good try hank and Wally 👍👍
It might have a Cummins or a mechanical cat 425 those mechanical cats can outperform anything on the road today cuz you can make manually adjust them you don't need any computer or ECM. There are two types of w-9s long nose and short nose this one looks like a pill box sleeper not uncommon for those year trucks👍👍♥️
عمل ممتع جدا شكر لي صاحب الفيديو الروعة
Saturday morning W-900. W= wish it would start. Good morning God Bless and stay safe.
c'mon boys, get those injectors out + get the mystery in the cylinders, 2nd episode for a months time please
Still remains a beauty
I worked on coal buckets in the early 1980s one of the brockways one was a 1974 and one a 1975 I can’t remember witch one but one of them was a positive ground
Mix some trans fluid with clean diesel about 1 to 3 parts for the injectors
Lo volviste hacer Wally felicidades
