You know I heard this song from Guy years ago but you make me cry everytime I hear it now. Thank you. 5 months later. I still cry. Beautiful lyrics and a beautiful voice. So much better than Guy. Sorry. Hurts way more than Guys ever did.
This is a phenomenal cover. Your voice is phenomenal. Finding this cover video made me check out the rest of your music and I love it all. I hope you go very far.
I have been to Austin. I've been to the Chili Parlor Bar. And in honor of Guy, I had a Mad Dog Margarita. I too am a guitar player and I cover this song... I haven't seen the David. I never saw the Mona Lisa, but I have seen Doc Watson play Columbus Stockade Blues. Doc belongs up there with the great works of art. He, and Tony Rice are the reasons I am a bluegrass flatpicker. But I'll never play like Doc or Tony. Drop D... I have replicated pretty much Guy's guitar rendition. This one sounds good, too. In France they call the Mona Lisa "La Joconde ." I'm not sure if the lady who posed was named Mona Lisa or not.. but in the Louvre it is La Joconde.
I have been pushing your first album like I was your publicist since it came out! Damn, I think you're fantastic. And I've been pushing the mandolin player on it (and wrote him about how much I loved his playing on it, but forget his name right now!). This is great. Never forget in these early days of your career how much your music moves people. LOVE this cover--great solo guitar arrangement and your voice does to the song what a great cover should do--bring nuances out of crevices of the song that you didn't notice in the original. Wow. Thank you thank you thank you.
You got me through a year long deployment in the middle east, thank you for the music.
Guy would smile... the best country song ever written - you did him proud
Thank you for playing this in Denver last night! Think I was the only person who knew it & sang my heart out. Great cover!
Getting to hear you sing this live was something else. Thank you. Keep killing it!
Brilliant! You put so much emotion into the song! Thank you!

Bella has a very strong unique talent.
Spectacular version of a Guy Clark classic. You have a way of putting these tunes across in a manner that is unique, yet familiar.
Great voice Bella …
I saw her perform this cover with Mipso, at the GAR Hall in Ohio. It was truly amazing. She's got a sensitive soul and a voice beyond compare.
