I watched quite a few "dance" videos based on Run Boy Run. This is the only one, IMHO, which captures the essence, the raw, the wild, the spirit and the tempo of it.
This was actually performed in the show (and is just as stunning as you'd hope) - SYTYCD Australia - S4 E17 "Top 16" the group dance at the beginning of the episode. Took me SO MUCH google searching to track down which episode [I have a link to it if you want to message me], but MAN it was worth it.
+BuffetSoros George I'm totally Agree!!! such beautiful, It makes my skin crawl *O* I love when they use the scepter and red hair guy smile at the end.
this was amazing - but imagine if you guys re-filmed this in a desert or a forest or something with cool warrior raggy looking clothes;; it would looks so bad ass honestly (already does on its own too, but imagine it with scenery)
This made me remember why I dance and compete. To one day perform with choreography like THIS. This is so intense and doing a dance like this would be a dream come TRUE! I can't get over how wild and intense this is. It captures the essence of the song.
I love this... I think it really captures the spirit and goes with the wildness of the music... there's sort of a native essence and I think that it captured that completely.

Stephen Tannos, you are a genius. This routine was easily the best group routine of that series, and IMO Australian series 4 had some of the best group routines in SYTYCD history. But even so this one stood out.
Will ALWAYS be my favourite dance video on the entire internet, not the final version, this one with no scenery just the raw talent and music makes it is so special
you're not the only one haha. So often it is the music that leads the choreography, but that part the take charge of the music and its the choreography that brought the music to life. Very impressive.
I don't normally care for dance but I was very impressed with this performance. The physicality of the movement was a perfect match for the music and really contributed to an overall impression of artistry. Well done.
Out of all the choreographies I saw to this and other Woodkid songs this is the only one that IMHO accurately captures the amount of energy and power of the music.
the sheer untamed transcendence of this dance and the music makes me want to run away to the woods and lead a clan of dystopian anarchists as we conquer the world as a family
I know I might be reading too much into this, but to me this seems like a metaphor for human evolution. It starts off with the humans not being able to walk properly, or even stand upright. From there, it moves onto savage, near ape-like movements. The humans begin having relationships and conflicts with one another, as seen in the women dancing with the men at 0:44 and the aggressive "fight" at 0:53. Afterwards, organization grows stronger, with a shaman/leader in the middle and the others beating the drums. The sticks used by the background dancers shortly thereafter might represent clubs or primitive swords, symbolizing more advanced and organized conflict. Then, the humans begin raising their arms and faces to the sky with an almost rapturous expression, possibly signifying the induction of reason or a soul. Their movements become less jerky and more fluid, before they all fall to the ground, indicating the end of humanity. Or it just might be some wicked awesome dancing, I dunno.
Yes! I saw it very much the same way. I particularly like the fact you mention both 'reason' and 'soul'. I'm not very big on spirituality (quite the contrary) but it's good to see someone equate those two things.
Buffoon1980 I am religious, but I will never act as if my beliefs are the only truth out there. In my opinion the human soul is the very source of reason, so I think if you have the one, you most likely have the other as well.
Peige Turner The entire album that has Run Boy Run on it, is a progression of a boys life, starting from being a boy, to manhood and to death. This dance really captures that intense human connection.
The choreography is incredibly expressive and dynamic! I love that it fits the song perfectly while also telling a story. And the way the video is shot adds even more movement and power to it. Must be my favourite dance video of all time!
Visionary choreography. This piece is so provocative and powerful. The movements and emotions of these talented dancers just reaches inside you and snatches your heart away.
Wow! I'm Amazed ... Dancing is one thing but translating music and interpreting how you feel in dancing is another ! Best Choreo Ever! Like it was make for YOU guys!
In my opinion, this is clearly the version that captures the song best through dance. I think that many dancers forget that they have to feel the song in the performance. This bunch clearly gets that and it is the more powerful for it.
Oh my gosh.....This is the best choreographed routine I have EVER seen in my entire life :0 I am so speechless and I have chills! You guys...Amazing job. I thank you for this beautiful dance.
I have never had any interest or connection to dance but for some reason I watched this video. I have never been so captivated for a long long time, and for a creative person, I don't say that easily. This is amazing! I do Judo, and the parallels between dance and fighting have really changed my outlook on how I fight.
+321puca the dance it's the way to connect with music when you are not the musician (joke), also it's a way to express what music makes you feel, try to dance in your room and connect with yourself. For some reason people dances less and less, so it's like our culture it's losing something important. LET'S DANCE
i know im super late but i love this one the best. I've watched a few with this song now and none of them gave this type of energy and the camera angles were fabulous. :)
i am watching this again after some years, it randomly pooped up in my recommendation again, and I am so thankful for it :D this video never stops to amaze me. I think its something about the energy. You people did an outstanding job !
All the Dancer's are realy enjoying them selves. Bravo to all the dancer's for a Fantastic performance and thank you. Also a fantastic performance by the person on the camra.
Jesus. At 1:42 when the guy smiles. It makes me so goddamn emotional. That's exactly how I feel at this part of the song every single time I listen to it. The emotion in this dance is amazing.
Чёрт, как же они чувствуют музыку! Они вложили всех себя в танец и по настоящему раскрыли эмоции песни в своём танце! Это просто охренеть как круто!!! Теперь у меня снова есть мотивация учиться (в университете) и трудиться👊🏻 Thank you so much from Russia❤
This choregraphy is the best !! I watch it many times , and i will watch it again !The dancers are great ! The music is beautiful ! This video catch the theme, the Spirit of the music!Congratulation !!!

Alice Marplehorvat same
This was so good I can't even find a word to describe how good this was
+roy dellosa I could not agree more.
I come back and watch this video every few months and it gives me goosebumps every single time.
This made me remember why I dance and compete. To one day perform with choreography like THIS. This is so intense and doing a dance like this would be a dream come TRUE! I can't get over how wild and intense this is. It captures the essence of the song.
I discovered this 2 days ago. And I've seen it at least 50 times. I'll never get bored.
0:56 - 1:03 is one of the most well done, unique, and feeling-full segments of choreography I've seen in a long time.
Omg this choreography is INSANE!!
I've officially watched this so many times that I know every move that comes next
GODDAMN STEPHEN AND ANDREW. AND GODDAMN ALL THE DANCERS.
Such a masterpiece
This one of the best dance choreographies I've ever seen
0:38 was perfect. I love it!
I love this... I think it really captures the spirit and goes with the wildness of the music... there's sort of a native essence and I think that it captured that completely.
Youre so right !
They have got to have sooooo much energy. It's a good thing, too, because they can actually match the rhythm perfectly. Awesome!
GOD GUYS YOU GOT ME CRYING IT WAS AMAZING !!! IT FIT THE SONG PERFECTLY IT WAS PERFECT GODDAMMIT

Best choreo to this song I've ever seen. So much energy, which is so hard given the fast tempo and power required for a song like this!
this is the best choreo of run boy run in YT
So again, this is the 5th year in which I rewatch this choreography and I’m still astonished. How can something be so beautiful?
It´s so amazing, everything is epic to the bones, and wtf, that´s a camera work!!!
that smile at 1:42 is like pure joy and love and wow this dance is perfect wow
If anyone ever asks me what my aesthetic goal is, I'm going to show them this video
The first time I comment on UA-cam, because you guys are awesome. Seriously, I think everyone who sees this video will get an instant urge to dance!
I agree
LOVE THIS! This is definitely THE BEST choreography I've seen of this song on youtube!

Truly, the best choreography I have seen so far 🔥
The best dance on this music!!! Can't understand why it's not popular all over the internet.
I watched this so many times. I still can't get over 2:08 - 2:25. I may have a little addiction...
you're not the only one haha. So often it is the music that leads the choreography, but that part the take charge of the music and its the choreography that brought the music to life. Very impressive.
me too! I always rewind to watch that part.
If the Dauntless faction had to be described in a dance...Lol. It would look like this.
DKGJFJR THIS IS GOLD
I’m not the only one who thinks of the divergent film when I hear this song 🤣
By far THE BEST choreography I've seen for this song.
this deserves millions of views
I can't stop watching this!! It's perfect!! Every time I listened to this song this was exactly what came to mind. Great dancing and great camera...
this is just the best choreography ever, i'll never get over it
I don't normally care for dance but I was very impressed with this performance. The physicality of the movement was a perfect match for the music and really contributed to an overall impression of artistry. Well done.
Neal Hyde I agree with you, this is pure art right here, their passion is showing in the overall dance.
Out of all the choreographies I saw to this and other Woodkid songs this is the only one that IMHO accurately captures the amount of energy and power of the music.
To this day, this is one of the most beautiful pieces of art I have ever seen
the sheer untamed transcendence of this dance and the music makes me want to run away to the woods and lead a clan of dystopian anarchists as we conquer the world as a family

Run Boy Run is actually about a boy becoming a man. Check out the original video, it is by Woodkid.
Peige Turner The entire album that has Run Boy Run on it, is a progression of a boys life, starting from being a boy, to manhood and to death. This dance really captures that intense human connection.
Peige Turner I am aware of that. But sometimes interpretive dances symbolize different things than the songs they are set to do.
The choreography is incredibly expressive and dynamic! I love that it fits the song perfectly while also telling a story. And the way the video is shot adds even more movement and power to it. Must be my favourite dance video of all time!
i´ve seen this video a thousand times.......everytime my heart melts........it makes me cry.....such a piece of art!!...thank u!!!!!

This just changed everything. What incredible, primal beauty. Thank you.
One of the best things that will ever exist. I have no words.
In my opinion, this is clearly the version that captures the song best through dance. I think that many dancers forget that they have to feel the song in the performance. This bunch clearly gets that and it is the more powerful for it.
I got the chills watching this! Great job guys!!!
