Don't start me off on the rubbish situation Dan, it boils my piss, 5 min scan around before I start fishing & when I leave that's all it takes to make the sure the swim/area is tidy, not that I should have to if the previous anglers did the same, abuse it & lose it! Come on lads/lasses it's not rocket science. Woah seeing that pike taking that barbel is a first for me, they must eat them, but never seen one in that situation. The green jacket your wearing, what make is it? hopefully tonight we'll be bringing it home ⚽ 🏆
Nice one Rich we'll keep banging the drum and maybe some will listen! Yeah I'm sure some small barbel are taken by pike but a fish of that size is crazy. The jacket is a snugpak one, not sure which model my mate got it for me. And less about the football! Haha
Bit late watching this one but glad I did!! Once in a lifetime catch with a pike on board as well and on camera!! Masterclass on fish care, and you nearly got excited - thanks for sharing.
What a cracking session buddy.. I was perch fishing on the swale recently and this pike kept harassing every fish I was bringing in !! So I tried targeting it with my larger lure rod and it wouldn’t have it one bit !! Back to the perch fishing and here it comes again for another bash 🤣🤣😡!! Yorkshire rivers are some of the most amazing around and like you say we should all play a part keeping them that way …. So well said with ALL your comments !!! Love watching your videos and all the best to ya 👍🏽🎣😀
It's so funny when pike figure out a free meal and sometimes I think they know it's an angler and to wait under the bank! Thanks for watching mate and all the best to you too
Cracking short session, people leaving rubbish want banning, simple, mint barbel, never in nearly 40 years of fishing having I seen a pike grab a barbel, let alone by the head, stunning footage, lovely video, good health and safe travels my friend, cheers craig
It was amazing to see it happen and so funny that the barbel just let it happen! Yeah can't stand angling litter and I worry it could potentially become a nail in the coffin of angling for sport. Anyway best not dwell on it! Thanks mate
Yes the rubbish should be done without thought but some people eh. Nice barbel you had Dan and I thought you was going to land that pike for a second. Nice one m8
Had a cracker little session on river idle yesterday evening, starting off with 4lb barbel up river, then a 9lber and a 7lber from the same spot just before sunset 👌 best barbel fishing I've experienced yet
Well that was an eventful session Dan! That pike must have had eyes considerably bigger than its belly. I had a recent four day trip to the Trent and managed a few barbel including one low double. An enjoyable video as always Dan!
Good question, personally I'd always use 2 if I can. Only time I use just 1 is if the swims too tight or if I'd struggle to land a fish with another line out. In my head surely 2 rods are better than 1
Unfortunately Mark I agree. After these lockdowns more people are out and about in our great outdoors which in one way is a good thing, sadly they're not there the next day to see the damage they cause
Idiots in Bradford now throw entire carrier bags of rubbish straight out of the car window, and recently big laughing gas canisters also. Soon the people will have to once again sort this out themselves, because nobody else is.
Hi dann v good video again. Disgusting as u say rubbish everywhere take it bloody away with u. I'm very new to barbel fishing infact I'm chasing my very 1st barbel any tips b great if can ill b fishing your method ie. Pva bags how regular do u recast pva bags etc. Just need help lol???
Nice one Kai, to be honest I don't recast all that much maybe every hour or so. The bags not there to feed the swim but just to leave a trail up to my hook bait. If there's fish in the swim 2 hours should be more then enough and often no need to feed. Pick 2 or 3 good looking swims and if you don't get any bangs or knocks then move to the next.
You keep banging on about the rubbish left by so called anglers.it pisses me off aswell.TAKE IT HOME or stay at home then i wont have to do yr job of picking it up..sorry for the rant😉🎣

Well done with the fish. I have heard its fishing well down there since reopening. Going to get down this week hopefully.

That pike was crazy! Great session on the trent mate nice to get a double
Looks like the River Nidd to me near Marston moor Casters and Hemp will catch you lots of Barbel the place is solid with them.
Haha maybe it is.... yeah might try some hemp one time. Thanks for watching man
Extra water looks more swaley to me.
What was different about your setup? I never figured it out
Dan when would you choose to use 1 rod or 2?
Good question, personally I'd always use 2 if I can. Only time I use just 1 is if the swims too tight or if I'd struggle to land a fish with another line out. In my head surely 2 rods are better than 1
Last 3 visits to rivers ive come back with lots of rubish seems to be getting worse

Go for it Mark! I worry a lot about the future of angling in the modern climate and if some leave litter that's only going to make it worse
Where's the green hoodie mate? I love that thing so much I bought one myself
Nice one James 👍think it was in the wash
