Hi everyone welcome to our yet another episode on Odisha, the hidden gem of India. In this vlog 🎦 we will take you to Belgadia Palace 🏰, Mayurbhanj, which is located in Baripada. We will share our wonderful experience in staying the royal palace.
Built in the 1800s in the Victorian architectural style with elements of Georgian decor, it was envisioned as a property for visiting foreign dignitaries, guests of the royal family of Mayurbhanj. During the merger 🇮🇳 of the princely state to the Union of India, the property was titled palace as to pay homage to the royal family that moved into it post independence as their primary residence.
Tucked away in the quaint heritage town of Baripada in Mayurbhanj, Odisha, the Palace is a beautiful piece of Kalinga history that redefines the idea of a hotel, and is 4-5 hours from the state capital of Odisha, Bengal and Jharkhand.

By Road 🛣️ - Distance from Kolkata is around 220 kms and will take around 5 and half hours to drive. The road is very good.
By Train 🛤️ - Catch any morning train from Howrah that goes to Balasore. There are plenty of them, like

From Balasore you can hire a cab 🚕. The distance is around 60 KMs and the road is very good
By Air ✈️ - This palace is 260 km far from Bhubaneshwar Airport. So until and unless you are coming from very far coming by air is not a good option.
As soon as we reached there (check in time was at 1 PM), we received a gran welcome. Then we were taken to the drawing room where we were served with Welcome Drinks. After that we went to our room (Chau Room 101). And undoubtedly this is the best place I have ever stayed in. The room was very royal.
Then we got fresh and went to lunch, which was a collection of Odisha dishes served with supreme delicacy.
In the afternoon we went to palace tour and explored the entire palace. This was followed by evening tea with snacks.
We met a Dokra artist and purchased a few things from him.
After that we went to enjoy cultural program but that's a content for the next video where we share with you the cultural program, dinner experience, breakfast and roaming around the garden, exploring the swimming pool and finally doing some shopping in the Sawai village. We are working it and hope to release it soon.
