Victron is for me as Enigneer the only hardware i use. Offshore, mobile and on house installations and Off-Grid also. For me there is no other company who has a very good system. Put the real Power in it and use it with Victron Intelligence.

Victron makes great hardware my only issue with them is post sale support in certain situations, I had a major problem with a victron installer I refuse to let them touch my RV again! Now I have to pay for support/service post sale because of this. You can't contact Victron directly for anything except referrals to another authorized dealer that won't clean up mistakes or do anything under warranty for free. Just a heads up. Not all dealers are good especially in high demand areas like Quartzsite Arizona. Any help in a situation like this is through victron forums DIY. Long story short I spent thousands fixing damage and mistakes made. Like cutting into plumbing to run PV wires without asking if I wanted to pay to drill the roof and do it properly with a gland. Using Wire nuts in the splice box for the 50amp behind the breaker panel so many fire hazards .
Sounds like someone gave you the hurry up work nobody needs or asks for, probably "saved you a lot of money" by doing it fast. I don't think Victron itself is to blame here, even if they somehow got their license or credentials as "Victron Authorized installer". You definitely give me pause about letting someone else do it. For one thing, I want to install it all myself, so that I understand it as well as I can. The first step in trouble shooting anything electrical is to know exactly how it is supposed to behave normally (that is step one). If you don't know about a lot about it, you're asking for mental trouble when something seems like it is not working a hundred kilometers from somewhere.
@@troy3456789 I understand it very well I just didn't have tools to do it properly we were full time RVrs the place that did it was a referral from the battery manufacturer Battleborn, your probably not familiar with Quartzsite Arizona it's a snowbird heaven thousands of people winter there in the desert for 7 months out of the year for $180 00 there are 2 solar installers in Quartzsite one is a Victron dealer/installer, $15000.00 wasn't exactly a budget job they just cut a lot of corners. The owner was at fault he didn't check his employees'work quality. My issue with Victron is in a situation like this you can't use another victron dealer for issues another did. I had to pay a mobile Victron technician to drive from California to fix the mess. $300 an hour. When you're on permitted vacation/retirement I can't Carry all those tools around to make cables terminate PV wires, I had enough tools to keep my truck running and fix issues with the camper, The camper was already 12000 lbs I only had 5000 lbs towing capacity left in my RAM Truck even with a Big Cummins Diesel engine. I always leave towing capacity to spare for safety reasons, There's a Huge vendor tent that gets set up each year Victron was there. They couldn't help me if I didn't want the dealership I went to touching my $50000.00 camper again. Money was not an issue I wanted it done right . I did email victron to ask what to do they we not prepared to deal with their authorized dealers if they made mistakes. I guess they assumed it would never happen.
I have a 8 year old 30 amp dc to dc charger & 650 watts of solar on the roof of my RV. I was thinking of upgrading the charger what would you recommend and why please? Peter Keys.
