@@thesaltysalmon yeah it crushes dreams lmfao nothing gets made unless it can reasonably complete with things in the same market the new bronco is closer to a jeep than a truck tbh
I’d say the only thing they could’ve done better, is have removable rear seats and a separator so you can use the full bed. Granted, you’ll have to get removable/flip-up carpet and such, but much more utility out of it.
This is much more appealing than what GM offers currently. The release of the original F.S. Chey Blazer and GMC Jimmy and Ford Bronco and Dodge Ramcharger were all well received buy the general public. So much more useful then the generic small SUVs offered today. Build them and the buyers will come.
Sadly you wont see GM offer anything remotely close to resembling a K5 Blazer anymore. No manual trans option, No manual shift 4wd lever on the floor. No solid front axle. All they offer now is electric shift junk that will eventually fail as the vehicle ages...... how about 15-20 years from now? Will that electric 4wd still work? I doubt it.
I owned a 1977 Chevy K5 with a 4" lift. I loved it. When I heard that the "Blazer" was making a return, I was ecstatic. Then I saw a supped up Equinox with a emblem tag on it that said Blazer and was embarrassed. Shame on GM. I am back to Ford now.

@@Anonymint-vj7bt Yep. They dont see these as necessary ventures since it wont sell in the Volume that the Suburban, Silverado or Vette will. So GM doesnt even bother with this stuff anymore. But its not like the original Jimmy or blazer ever sold tons of vehicles like the suburbans and silverados of their day despite the good amount they did sell, but that was before Investors and Bean counters were so hard on companies to mild every dime they can out of said products. I get that a company has to make money, but I find it crazy that they spend billions on new products that rarely sell in the numbers that the Bean counters/Investors want. So they have a short life cycle in the brand compared to well known nameplates that have an image and reputation. Look at the Bronco, those things are selling like Hot cakes because its what everyone wanted from ford and it has the look. If gm made one I would be in as a buyer. I would even do a custom order just to have an extra amount of fun. Full convertible would be nice like the 69-75. I am a 73-75 fan myself and have a few of them.
Can you imagine this with all the modern amenities of current vehicles. With the amazing layout of the original Full Sized Blazers and Jimmys. I would absolutely buy one of these! The ability to remove a top and also be able to use it in all weather with the top installed, is great! Not to mention this with the 1500 classes inline 6 turbo diesel, especially next years revised version. The one that’s bringing power to over 300 Hp and torque to over 500 foot pounds. That would be an amazing package. Great fuel mileage and towing ability. All in my favorite full size packaging ever! Want to sell the concept if they don’t green light the production?! lol.
As a single outdoorsman this truck is a dream. As long as the rear seat is removable to fit a kayak 😂. It would also be awesome if the doors had a removable option.
The wheels and tires don't look very factory and I think it should be rhino lined in the rear and have removable carpets so that you can still use the rear as a truck. Other than that it should definitely have the 6.2L, L86, LT4 or even the L8T 6.6L engine. I am crazy about it, I would definitely like to own one. Some color other than black would also be nice as well. If it was closer in the suspension department to the ZR2, Raptor or TRX that would be really exciting as well. On the other hand I would probably be even more excited if the production model was available in W/T trim with grey vinyl seats and a rubber floor with the basic bumpers, grill and side trim so that it would be less expensive, more durable and utilitarian. Something excessively priced and overly optioned isn't necessary for my personal enjoyment, I would want to have that thing out and using it. Another neat idea would be if they used something like the old Avalanche mid gate that allowed you to turn it into a truck or SUV with or without a cap in the rear. Very cool. Maybe it would be better if they used the 3/4 ton chassis with the heavier 6.6L L8T, 6L90e trans, 14 bolt rear, possibly still 2 doors with a little more wheelbase(maybe even a 3rd row option) and best of all a CAFE exemption as an over 8500lb GVRW rating. That would take away any of the excuses if it wasn't denting their CAFE.

No real car guy would believe that is a actual GM Production Truck…it looks waaaay to good. Stunning Truck. Needs a roll bar to complete the truck. LOL you just mentioned it in the video.
While that is a sick looking truck, I have to correct one thing. Currently, I'm not in the market for a car, but I'd definitely be interested to buy this if it existed. My first car was a 1995 Yukon SLT 2door, and it still gives me nightmares I sold it over 20 years ago. This is the exact type of truck I've been waiting for from GMC. I've had 4 yukons in the past but they never had the feel of my first one with 2 doors and a V8. This truck would be perfect as a last hoorah from GMC before everything is electric. But GM won't build it, instead they will build another Corvette variant no one can actually buy unless they pay $25k over MSRP.
Ok so it's technically a 2022, minor screwup! Either way, would you buy one?

I think this is what everyone wanted the new Blazer to look like. Maybe GMC and Chevy will like the reviews from SEMA and videos like yours.

I want one. The new rendition of the 67 jimmy is even better
A 4-5 seater if you need it and a little truck when you want it. Absolutely want one.
I had a 1985 K5 Blazer. It was great off road, 350 power, the back came off so a bigger Jeep and regret selling it. I would by this new one
I will start saving money for this GMC
😉👍 As someone who has always liked true Full-Size Blazers and has owned a K5 '89 and a '92 1500 that were both in Black like this, I think you know my answer! 😉👍
🤔 However I would love to see something like this but a full convertible like in the early Blazers. 😉👍
Wow if this comes out it would be a home run. As long as it comes with lockers
Damn! Want one. Owned an S15 Jimmy in high school.
The Edgars are salivating over this truck
This is what they should have done I would definitely buy one
I wheel a 1st gen 4Runner and have always hoped there would be a modern take on the removable roof again. thats not a yota but i'd take one!
I'll take this with the new '24 HD Denali ultimate interior, duramax, and full roof off to the windshield.
Judging by the thumbnail, I would like one. Especially if it was a manual transmission and Jimmy/Blazer body.
Buy it in a heart beat , I’ve had 3 different body styles of those trucks and been waiting awhile for a new one
Beautiful truck, very exciting!
Do you think the rear seats will be removable??
That’s cool, and since they screwed up the blazer, I think I might want one if it actually competed with the bronco.
I like it. Put a 5.3 in it and it would be downright badass
I tested ride this vehicle too. Powerful and reliable
This is UNREAL!!!!! YES please. Where do I sign up?
That's bad ass...GM, BUILD THIS!
the old ones were more reliable then the new ones
Oh my… please make it!! and in RHD for Australian buyers too 🤓❤️
Other than that rear tail light, the truck looks great
