      Because everyone wants a mall crawler with 4 doors & couldn't handle a traditional, body on frame suv. They would always roll them in the 90's & early 2000's, because everyone is a race car driver now these day's.. Unfortunately. Same with a stick shift. It's been a dying breed of sorts. Can't find them in trucks anymore, & few are still in cars. Gotta love modern Americans. I'm still proud to be born & raised American, but hate the direction our country is going with the automobile.

    This is much more appealing than what GM offers currently. The release of the original F.S. Build them and the buyers will come.

      Sadly you wont see GM offer anything remotely close to resembling a K5 Blazer anymore. No manual trans option, No manual shift 4wd lever on the floor. No solid front axle. All they offer now is electric shift junk that will eventually fail as the vehicle ages...... how about 15-20 years from now? Will that electric 4wd still work? I doubt it.

      @@Anonymint-vj7bt Yep. They dont see these as necessary ventures since it wont sell in the Volume that the Suburban, Silverado or Vette will. So GM doesnt even bother with this stuff anymore. But its not like the original Jimmy or blazer ever sold tons of vehicles like the suburbans and silverados of their day despite the good amount they did sell, but that was before Investors and Bean counters were so hard on companies to mild every dime they can out of said products.
      I get that a company has to make money, but I find it crazy that they spend billions on new products that rarely sell in the numbers that the Bean counters/Investors want. So they have a short life cycle in the brand compared to well known nameplates that have an image and reputation. Look at the Bronco, those things are selling like Hot cakes because its what everyone wanted from ford and it has the look. The Jimmy we see here already has a buyer base that wants something like this, but GM unlike Ford and even dodge, has the most brutal Bean counters/Investors ever. Theres 0 fun or real risk taking with products that people would actually want, but plenty of wasted money in pursuit of the Ventures that the Investors want. I.E the Volt(Which doesnt sell that well if I'm honest. I see them, but not like they were pitched years ago).

    Can you imagine this with all the modern amenities of current vehicles. With the amazing layout of the original Full Sized Blazers and Jimmys. I would absolutely buy one of these! The ability to remove a top and also be able to use it in all weather with the top installed, is great! Not to mention this with the 1500 classes inline 6 turbo diesel, especially next years revised version. The one that’s bringing power to over 300 Hp and torque to over 500 foot pounds. That would be an amazing package. Great fuel mileage and towing ability. All in my favorite full size packaging ever! Want to sell the concept if they don’t green light the production?! lol.

  • @hendo337
    @hendo337 2 роки тому +3

    The wheels and tires don't look very factory and I think it should be rhino lined in the rear and have removable carpets so that you can still use the rear as a truck. Other than that it should definitely have the 6.2L, L86, LT4 or even the L8T 6.6L engine. I am crazy about it, I would definitely like to own one. Some color other than black would also be nice as well. If it was closer in the suspension department to the ZR2, Raptor or TRX that would be really exciting as well. On the other hand I would probably be even more excited if the production model was available in W/T trim with grey vinyl seats and a rubber floor with the basic bumpers, grill and side trim so that it would be less expensive, more durable and utilitarian. Something excessively priced and overly optioned isn't necessary for my personal enjoyment, I would want to have that thing out and using it. Another neat idea would be if they used something like the old Avalanche mid gate that allowed you to turn it into a truck or SUV with or without a cap in the rear. Very cool. Maybe it would be better if they used the 3/4 ton chassis with the heavier 6.6L L8T, 6L90e trans, 14 bolt rear, possibly still 2 doors with a little more wheelbase(maybe even a 3rd row option) and best of all a CAFE exemption as an over 8500lb GVRW rating. That would take away any of the excuses if it wasn't denting their CAFE.

      You do realize this isn’t GM. Small auto shop just messing around to inspire GM to do it. So not gonna roll out all ur options when they prob spent way more then u realize cutting and chopping this truck together. Prob with labor +100k$ truck! So ease up on all ur desires. These guys did an amazing job putting this truck together. Yes understand doesn’t have all ur options. But do agree with all ur options. Bigger engines like 3/4t frame. Think this thing could really jump into jeep market. Especially if they used higher end options like bigger engines really good suspension. Needs lockers finally getting a couple trucks with lockers. But u gotta put lockers on it. Think they need to start working towards most trucks in their line if 4x4.

    I would take this in a heartbeat. It confuses me when auto makers say there's no market for something but yet they're impossible to find in the secondary market. The regular cab Tacoma is a perfect example. Supposedly they were too small and nobody wanted them anymore so they were axed yet demand for them(especially the manual 4 banger) is through the roof and people will pay insane prices for one.

    • @joshuakhaos4451
      @joshuakhaos4451 2 роки тому

      They say theres no market because they wont sell in the amounts the Silverado, Tahoe Suburban and Vette will. But they'll keep pouring billions into stupid ventures that dont sell worth a shit like the Volt because it's what the government/wall street investors want ultimately. Look at the Camaro, They're killing it for poor sales, but I bet the Volt has even worse sales figures.
      The market absolutely exists for these, but its not the Investors sort of thing. So since its that and never going to be Suburban popular, Its never going to be.

    While that is a sick looking truck, I have to correct one thing. Full size Blazers did not come stock with rollover bars back in the day, they were aftermarket that were installed at the dealers if you chose that option. Just like today when you buy side steps, bed liner's, bedcovers, or roll bars on trucks, they are added from the dealer during prep. They are called dealer add-ons. I grew up riding in the back of those things as a kid, they were not there. The seatbelts were lap belts. Trucks in Question were a 1976 k5, and 1982 k5 blazers.

    6.2 L should be the engine.
    But off roader should have rubber floors.
    Nice truck though. And I’m picky. Lol

    The current stock 18” at4 wheels would fit it better. Those wheels aren’t bad just don’t look right on the truck.

    😉👍 As someone who has always liked true Full-Size Blazers and has owned a K5 '89 and a '92 1500 that were both in Black like this, I think you know my answer! 😉👍
    🤔 However I would love to see something like this but a full convertible like in the early Blazers. 😉👍

    Currently, I'm not in the market for a car, but I'd definitely be interested to buy this if it existed. My first car was a 1995 Yukon SLT 2door, and it still gives me nightmares I sold it over 20 years ago. This is the exact type of truck I've been waiting for from GMC. I've had 4 yukons in the past but they never had the feel of my first one with 2 doors and a V8. This truck would be perfect as a last hoorah from GMC before everything is electric. But GM won't build it, instead they will build another Corvette variant no one can actually buy unless they pay $25k over MSRP.
