Of the PS2 Horror trifecta (Haunting Grounds, Rule of Rose, Kuon) this is the only one I’m missing but it’s way over my reach price wise. It looks fantastic though and this review is so good! Really wish there was a company out there that would try to get classic horror games and remaster them for current consoles. More people need to play these!
Hiya, Ken! That's an interesting observation you made! Many game reviewers really aren't "gamers" per se, and I totally agree that you should give games an honest try rather than following the opinions of these reviewers. It kinda takes me back to when Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles was being put down by Game Informer Magazine. I'll never forget how harshly criticized it was despite being a solid game overall. While I've heard of Kuon for its notoriety in price, I've never actually seen any of the gameplay. Thanks for your in-depth review! I like how you compared it with other games for the sake of context 👌
$1,000? As cool as it would be to own a game of that value, I think I'll just get a free mcboot memory card and borrow a copy of Kuon from the Internet. It does look like a crazy game and should definitely be worth playing. Great job coverig the game, I'll definitely check it out when I can. Agetek published a couple of my favorite "hidden gems" on the PS2. I'm talking about Disaster Report and Raw Danger. They're not going to be for everyone because they have issues, but if you can get around the clunky controls, poor visuals, and awkward dialogue, they're great games that offer a unique experience. They're survival natural disaster type games(similar to survival horror, but weather is the main enemy) that have many branching paths to take where your decisions and actions affect the plot. Raw Danger has you play through the stories of 5 separate characters and decisions you make with one character will affect the others as they cross paths.

Crazy that PS2 games have become so expensive. I was at my local retro game store this weekend and I saw Xenosaga 3 in a case for over $200 😱
