I just acquired a '65 Tbird myself and it had no oil pressure when running but the engine sounded great so I replaced the sending unit... boy, what a job!! who ever designed that car....every thing was/is in the way! I just removed the gas tank and the rear leaf springs are next.
The 64-66 Thunderbirds are not easy to work on, it takes patience. Once they are running they are head turners. Thank you for watching my channel. It is greatly appreciated and enjoy the 65 T-Bird.
I'm working on a 61 Thunderbird and for the life of me I can't seem to be able to get the sensor out as there doesn't seem to be enough room to get a wrench on there or lock pliers or vice grips or a crowfoot any other kind of tool. And wondering if you know of some trick I might be missing? Thanks
I am imagining we are talking about the 390 motor. The easiest way that worked for me was to remove the oil filter, in some cases the fuel pump may have to be removed, but removing the oil filter freed up some space and I struggled but it came loose.
Thanks I ended up just removing the oil filter bracket entirely after not being able to get a wrench or even find one that fit which made it really easy

Same here. Guess I’ll be removing parts too.
It’s a 65 Galaxie fe 390.
