Thats why you generally get better at something the longer you do it. However you can skip this process by turning web assist on max, turning off your brain, and smoothly swinging around as much as you like.
I really love the free roam background music in the 2nd game. In the first game it quickly got very repetitive while swinging around. It got better with Miles Morales, but they nailed it completely in the sequel.
For the folks that played spider man 2 in 2004 having this option is amazing and also takes a lot of skill. Considering you are at the mercy of physics while swinging. You’ve got to look and time where you want to go next which makes stringing together tricks so much more satisfying.

Miles was good had better tricks and a more natural flow but was still plagued by the same problems. Two has fluidity and a learning curve if you want a challenge plus better skills to keep your momentum going plus corner tethering to make quick turns. I could go on and on
I'm not so sure. Insom games still have some bit of weirdness with the physics. multiple times you can see Spider Man moving slightly forward even though the web has not attached yet. SM also swings around a building and the web clips inside the building's geometry. I would love for Insom Spiderman to have true pendulum physics like 2004 SM2, which would make things like corner swinging more interesting.
I appreciate the fact that there's some actual danger to the web swinging now with the fall damage. Reminds me of the Spideman 2002 game. Now I only wish they'd take care of the weird way Spidey's momentum works when he smashes into a building full speed but somehow doesn't splat against the window like at 1:30. They could add some sort of mechanic to protect/redirect yourself at these points (maybe spider-sense) to require more player input and increase the dangers of high speed swinging.
maybe something like pressing triangle just at the right time, if you fail the timing you get damage kissing the wall or maybe smash in the room breaking the glass
I love how your trick animation doesn’t instantly stop and switch to him swinging, but instead the way he swings and the position he swings in is relative to what trick he was doing. Like if he was upside down when you hold r2 then he would web swing upside down, makes it a lot more realistic and fun and it flows a lot better
My favorite for Pete is red and black advanced suit 2.0 and mines for miles is the all red 10th anniversary suit or the homage miles suit with the boots but the blue color scheme
Just turned off the swing assist after about an hour into the game and holy crap it is giving me Spiderman 2 on PS2 nostalgia like crazy. I stopped any attempts at missions and just went gleefully swinging around trying out different maneuvers and wall run to web swing combos. Difficult at first due to missing a web at lower heights but definitely satisfying as all hell.
I know this has been said already but I can't stress enough how much I respect Insomniac for making the settings have multiple points for that and not making it just a on/off thing. This way everybody can adjust it to their preference
When Harry becomes venom and You drop off on a skyscraper in the sunset tofollow his ID card the game looks fucking amazing . Straight out the best graphics i seen in a game ever .
I put my assistance to 5 and even at that I found myself swinging into buiidlings or low to the ground often yet still had the superhero esque power of swinging around. A good balance really. The devs really thought of everything and gotta give em praise for that.
This is one of the best suits in the game. And man, the way Peter moves while swinging in this one is everything I wanted, less technical and more freely, stylish. The only thing missing now is an animation for 2 webs at the same time like when you press X to boost. Hope it will make it to the 3 game
The no assist swinging is the best thing they added, love the feeling of struggling to become a superhero and not being invincible really feels like you earned it, i hope they develop this
i really wish we were able to climb webs and run along the ground while swinging. you can tell the system wasn’t entirely designed around the zero assist setting but it’s still really awesome
@@itsilvjotyou swing more physic based , right web shoot Will make Peter or miles move more closely to the right , and left will move them to the left of whatever they're webs attached to, also you're more lower to the ground and gaining height is a little more harder to do , and I think web swinging speed is slower like in terms of how fast you shoot each web out to swing with is slower with the less amount of assist you have. And a lot of the times you'll be swinging so low that you'll stop swinging all together.
@@100_funsshatta it actually isn't slower it just depends on the player. I'm able to keep my momentum at 0 assist because you can actually control which direction he shoots his web 80% of the time and let it take you instead of fighting with the game. This is where hrs come in
I wish Insomniac made a cool feature where we can call in Miles or Pete and just have them swing around together. And they seriously need to let us change to this time of day on the next update.

It's not just the wingsuit itself but how much emphasize is placed on it. It doesn't function like wingsuits in most other games, like Dying Light 1, Far Cry 3-4, "Batman", etc. It instead has a level of focus/function/depth comparable to the JC series, and there's absolutely no way they didn't look to one of the IPs with the best traversal systems in gaming.
We gotta write to the devs this is a love letter to the first game I feel like they all enjoyed it as much as we do knew we loved threading the needle the scenery the speed the acrobatics. This is the best spidey sim ever

I kinda like when its slower , the swinging around seems very quick an rushed id definitely slow it down to enjoy the realism of how it would be, Spideman moves around like hes on a swivel and runs across the ground gliding at times looking weightless, the webs look like they grab onto the same edges of a building at a certain height, make more independent web attaches whereverr you please

Tbh they should also account for web line length and the elasticity of the web. Like if you're in brokklyn and queens, your webline should be shorter to accommodate for the low rise buildings.

They do have animations where Peter or miles shoot two webs when you press x. They’re just more situational like being right in between two buildings
