      I'd would play with Jagr if i played Hockey because he could do anything. Protect the puck, pass it to anyone he saw open and believe it or not Jagr still plays hockey!

    • @BloggerMusicMan
      @BloggerMusicMan 5 місяців тому

      Jagr in his prime wowed you with his stickhandling and how fast he was for his size. Draisaitl's game is much more subtle and efficient.
      I've watched the Oilers in person and on TV in recent years and what stands out about Draisaitl is that he always seems to know where the puck is going to be. He's not especially fast, or especially strong, or especially big. His shot is not particularly strong or quick (though it is accurate). What he does have that separates him is an incredibly keen sense of how plays develop. He's almost never out of position, and he can process the game quickly and get to where he needs to in order to make plays. He's often a step ahead of his opponents.
      I'm not saying Jagr had none of that, but those traits stand out more in Draisaitl because he doesn't have Jagr's size or quickness.

    I've always loved it more when sportsmen mention/praise players from a different country than themselves, hence why my favorites were to hear Barkov say Jagr, Ovechkin say Lemiux, Josi say Orr and Kane say Forsberg. Respect to them for that. Too bad none of the swedes couldn't get out of Sweden, typical as that is.....

    Con Madigan and the '64-65 Portland Buckaroos with Art Jones, a young Pat Stapleton, Bobby Schmautz' two brothers Cliff and Arnie. Playing bitter rivals in Seattle 14 times in one season, winning the league with a 9 game win streak in the home stretch, and winning the president's cup going 8 and 2. Overall just a stacked Western League, pre NHL expansion, just to see what the atmosphere was like in the Memorial Coliseum back then, and of course the freedom that having a player like Mad Dog brings - you just don't see that anymore, probably haven't for over half a century...

      @@jwilson_5554 Ooh nice. I would have loved to gone and watch my Stars played back in the 90’s but never got to. Would have loved to see Modano, Morrow, Turco and all the others play in person and would have loved to get the classic 90’s jersey. I did take my sister later on a couple of years ago with Benn and Seguin on the team and would love to go back to see them again. There’s nothing like watching the game in person versus on t.v. I just hope the ticket prices will go down because it’s getting expensive to sit down near the glass. It definitely wasn’t that much when we went and we got really good seats. Good luck with your game and hopefully you will get his jersey. 👍
