Train Journey | Madurai Jn to Palakkad Jn by 16344 Amritha Express

It was a not-so-long-but-tiring day at Madurai! We visited the Madurai Meenakshi Sundareshwarar Temple - ended up having to wait for over 3 hours for darshan! The return journey from Madurai was by the 16344 Madurai Jn - Thiruvananthapuram Central Amrita Express (via Dindigul, Pollachi, Palakkad Jn, Kottayam), in Sleeper class!
The train was hauled by a WAP4 of Arakkonam Shed!

Read news that there is a vociferous demand to shift the Pollachi section to Salem division because PGT seems to be ignoring parts of TN under it's jurisdiction. What are your thoughts on this?

If it's only Palakkad division that is ignoring why isn't Madurai division running trains from DG till Pollachi? Why is SA division not ready to propose more trains? It's purely regionalist chauvinism at play with absolutely no merit.

@@Platform7byBinaiSankar Regional chauvinism is part of the Indian psyche and will remain so. Similar issues exist even at MAQ where they are accusing PGT of negligence.

@@Travancorepillai the fact is SWR hasn't developed much from what they inherited from SR. Except Bangalore region, SWR is more or less what their inherited. KR is even worse. Absolutely no station maintenance. PGT has done a great job actually. Both MAQ and MAJN are being redeveloped and expanded.
