Off-Contact Calibration on a ROQ Automatic Press

- This is a quick video showing how to zero out your Off Contact dials on a ROQ Automatic. Some of ours were way off!
It's important to have these indicators calibrated so that you can set up jobs quicker with less troubleshooting. Being confident that the off contact is even is major key.

Super informative channel. We just got our first auto installed, which is a Roq, going through all your videos now. Incredibly helpful, well done, and detailed information, thank you so much
Thanks for the comment. I've been focussing a bit more on the business lately but will be back on the videos really soon. There's not enough content in our industry that isn't a thinly disguised ad!
Fantastic video Cory.
Nicholas Wood thank you sir. Just tryna knock out some simple vids while doing stuff around the shop! Appreciate you watchin’

Thanks for watchin'!
Definitely gonna check mine. I just got a next and it’s pretty much new but I’m noticing stuff is off like in your video.
I have the PRU and I’ve already noticed that’s everything seems to be off to the left by 2-3 mm. Not sure how to fix that.
Yep it's definitely worth looking at! If everything is off consistently to the left, then that might be easier to chase back then you think. My advice is always to make it repeatable. So for example, if you expose a screen and clamp it back into the PRU, will the laser be dead on? If not, maybe some inconsistent loading on the PRU.
Same thing on press. Load a screen, print it, flash it. Then remove the screen, reset it in the pallet, and print your shirt again. Is it dead on? If not, maybe some inconsistent loading on the press.
And at every step check for play, variation, or anything that might contribute negatively. On my PRU, the tech put it together wrong and one of the clamps was loose, causing enough jiggle to throw the whole thing off. Nevermind the issue with my platen hitting the clamps lol.
Going to check my ROQ now!
What is the gap checker thingy and what does it do? You have a link to it? Great vid! Thanks!
It’s pretty cool! I think I Googled it and found it on Amazon after seeing one. You just wedge it in a gap and it’ll tell you how wide the space is. It’s not perfect but more accurate than your finger haha.
